Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 378: Chapter 377: Stay Away from My Little Pei!

”Why, why would such a monster appear here?!”

Due to their weakness, these pirates occupied a small territory in the New World as an alliance. They were well aware of their capabilities, so their territory was some distance away from the territories of the three Pirate Emperors.

In theory, they should be at peace, but Kaidou suddenly showed up here.

The world’s strongest creature, Invincible Kaidou, the Undying Dragon—these are the titles Kaidou has earned over the years by rampaging around. He might be defeated, but he’s never left with any scars, and he’s like an indestructible bug.

His abundant stamina and ability to fly mean that even if people can defeat him, they can’t keep him, and after leaving, Kaidou might well return after some time.

Because of his reckless behavior, he never brings subordinates or ships. Often, after causing a big commotion, he leaves. With his level of power, without any worries, it’s hard for others to stop him once he decides to leave.

Also, not every place has people stationed who match his strength, so now many people don’t want to provoke Kaidou.

These pirates can’t understand why, when they were just lying low, they somehow attracted a monster like Kaidou here.

A few minutes earlier.

These pirates had just dealt with the remnants of the Urent Pirates. In fact, if Kaidou had come a moment later, these pirates might have ended up fighting among themselves over the spoils. But before they could start fighting, Kaidou made a dramatic entrance in an unbelievable way.

The flying Kaidou, who could have descended on flaming clouds, instead chose to deactivate his ability mid-air and performed a high-altitude bungee jump like a heavy bomb, without any safety rope.

This was something he discovered in past battles. There are many strong enemies in the New World, and at least in this era of constant conflict, there are many who can take a hit from him and not die.

Moreover, when they climb out of the crater he created, the people around are always shocked, so he came up with this kind of entrance.

While those people were still examining the large inexplicable pit on the island, Kaidou had already climbed out of it.

”Can someone tell me where Urent is?”

Gulp...

The sound of swallowing spread around. Even when Kaidou did nothing, just standing there exuded an invisible intimidation, especially with the large crater on the ground, which added to his imposing presence.

”Urent... is already dead. He was too severely injured in a battle with the Navy. If he offended you, then you’re too late...”

They didn’t know about the connection between Urent and Kaidou. After all, Urent had never mentioned it. If there was any connection, Urent used to be Kaidou’s old squad leader.

Watching his former subordinate gradually become the strongest in the kingdom, then a pirate, and eventually a legendary figure on the sea, Urent felt quite conflicted inside.

He rejected Kaidou’s invitation and chose this Pirate Alliance instead.

Those pirates never imagined that Urent knew Kaidou. To them, anyone with such a connection and not clinging to it would be an idiot.

”Dead, huh... what a pity. But why are you all still alive?”

Kaidou, who was just asking questions, suddenly turned hostile and smashed towards the pirates in front of him.

Boom!

The huge dust cloud obscured the view, but as the dust settled, there were noticeably fewer pirates in front of Kaidou, with only the blood mixed with dirt proving that they had been there.

Out of the corner of his eye, Kaidou spotted the corpses marked with Urent symbols on the ground. It seemed he arrived too late; the rebellion had already happened.

...

A one-sided slaughter: previously, the Navy’s battle with them was just a fleet led by a Headquarter Vice Admiral. If these pirates had fought for their lives, Urent might have successfully retreated.

However, they didn’t, and now, facing Kaidou, the courage to resist no longer mattered; everything they did was utterly futile against Kaidou.

Whether it was muskets or cannons, the only effect they had on Kaidou was making him dust off or, if lucky, slightly cough. Those with cold weapons didn’t get close before the wind pressure from Kaidou’s casual swings blew them away.

And the hot breath he casually exhaled became a dimensional reduction attack for the nearby pirates; pirates moving on the island were almost halved, and those fleeing from Urent’s stronghold came into Kaidou’s sight.

Ulti and Page One, with their horns, immediately had their identity locked by him.

Before the pirate could comprehend what was happening, Kaidou’s towering figure appeared in front of him almost like teleportation. His big hand grasped the pirate’s head, causing him to scream in pain with just a slight exertion of force.

His hand, which was holding the siblings, involuntarily loosened, instinctively trying to pry Kaidou’s hand away.

As the siblings fell to the ground, Kaidou didn’t catch them. Although Kaidou was there for Urent’s children, it was enough for him if they didn’t die; getting injured was only natural.

Years ago, if Yamato were to fall off the ship, he wouldn’t blink an eye. If that’s how he treated his own, what could be said for these two?

”You’re Urent’s kids, right.”

Looking at the teary-eyed Page One and the guarded Ulti, Kaidou made his conclusion.

”Yes, with those eyes just like that guy. I’m Kaidou, and from today, you’re interns on my ship.”

As is well-known, most pirate interns are group pets—young but usually well-protected.

Since Olga retired from the intern position, the Hundred Beasts’ group pet had been replaced. While they enjoyed abundant resources, they also went through terrifying experiences.

Watching the pirate repeatedly hitting Kaidou’s fingers with the hilt of a knife, Kaidou impatiently tossed him aside, then scooped up Ulti and Page One and flew into the sky. As he took off, countless bolts of lightning began striking the island.

Boom! Boom!

By the time he left, the island had turned to scorched earth.

...

On Ghost Island, Yamato and the others, who were training on the rooftop, weren’t particularly happy to see Kaidou return, but Jack’s expression changed when he noticed a presumed boy.

At 11 years old, Page One was in a rapid growth phase, with his height quickly approaching three meters.

In the days following their return, Kaidou briefly explained the situation to Ulti and her brother. With Urent dead, Kaidou’s adoption was indeed a good thing for them.

However, as soon as they landed, Ulti saw a big guy running over like a weirdo, showing signs of pulling down her brother’s pants.

”Hey! Stay away from my little Pei!!”
