Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 389: Chapter 388: Profiting Like Crazy as a Middleman

Not long ago, a slave of a certain Heavenly Celestial Dragon escaped while he was out, and that escaping slave was Fisher Tiger.

That Heavenly Celestial Dragon was not Mjosgard. Although he liked Fishman slaves, he was not the only one with Fishman slaves. Compared to ordinary humans, Fishman’s bodies can bear greater weight, which means a more stable ride for the Heavenly Celestial Dragons when they go out.

It’s almost impossible for ordinary slaves to escape from the hands of the Heavenly Celestial Dragons, as the power of the explosive collars is unbearable for those slaves.

However, Fisher Tiger deliberately overturned the Heavenly Celestial Dragon on his back, and at the cost of getting shot several times, he tricked others into coming over, seizing the opportunity to steal the key.

They underestimated the vitality of the Fishmen and overestimated the shooting skills of that Heavenly Celestial Dragon; several handgun bullets were not enough to kill Tiger.

Then a classic case of economics happened.

For the Heavenly Celestial Dragons, letting a slave escape is a very humiliating thing. If this matter gets out, it would become a laughing stock among the Heavenly Celestial Dragons.

Moreover, too many people saw Tiger’s escape, including the kings of allied nations and officials of the World Government, making it impractical to silence them all.

So he gave a trusted subordinate five hundred million Belly to capture Tiger, and if he could capture some new slaves, all the better.

Since Whitebeard began to protect Fishman Island, there have been some effects. The most direct manifestation is the decrease in the number of Fishman and Mermaid slaves and their higher prices.

Although five hundred million has exceeded the value of a Fishman, compared to restoring his face, this is nothing.

After that, this trusted subordinate took three hundred million out of the five hundred million Belly and bribed a World Government official to handle this matter.

Then this World Government official took two hundred million Belly and arranged for his subordinates to take care of this matter.

While the Fishman Race and the Mermaid Race on the island were once classified as ”fish species” by humans and suffered discrimination.

But the relationship improved a little after the Dragon Palace Kingdom became an allied nation of the World Government 200 years ago, and the king of Fishman Island was allowed to attend the World Conference.

This made it difficult for people from the World Government to overtly do such things, and the deep sea was too dangerous.

And the Slave Capture Team’s ability to act in the deep sea was very poor, so they used 120 million to bribe a relatively strong group of pirates to do this thing, waiting above to reap the benefits.

As for the extra Fishmen or Mermaids, if the quality is high enough, the Heavenly Celestial Dragons will probably be willing to spend extra money.

It is already two days after Mandfeish returned to Fishman Island.

The ship of this pirate group had long been coated, and after preparations, they had already come underwater. They took out sixty million Belly to bribe some thugs from Fishman Street again.

They weren’t sure if the target had returned to Fishman Island, but since this is the place where all Fishmen live, they sent people here to investigate. Capturing other slaves was also a way to account for themselves if they couldn’t find Tiger.

As for their target, the answer is simply a red Fishman who recently came to Fishman Island, as for the name, they didn’t remember, the Heavenly Celestial Dragons wouldn’t remember the slave’s name, nor would others, the number on the collar was the mark of a slave’s tragic life.

If it was stated that their target was Tiger, no one from Fishman Street would do this job because Fisher Tiger’s status in Fishman Street is equivalent to Hyogoro’s in the Flower Capital.

Although he isn’t any official, massive prestige allows him to rally many people, but he had been gone for a long time, and recently no one had seen Tiger return, so under the temptation of money, they took on this black job.

Without Tiger, there were many factions in Fishman Street.

However, walls have ears, and their secret discussions were overheard by little Eight.

”Nyuu? Just returned... red Fishman?!”

He temporarily left his takoyaki machine with a friend on Fishman Island, and this time he returned intending to catch some octopus for ingredients, unexpectedly overhearing such shocking news.

The octopus cage in his hand was directly thrown to the ground by him, and then he hastily left here.

...

”Nyuu! Ah Long big brother! Something’s wrong, nyuu! Those bastards in the northern district teamed up with humans and are going to target Big Brother Mandfeish!”

In a room on Fishman Street, Ah Long and his group were drinking a juice from some kind of underwater plant, which was very similar to alcohol but slightly denser than water, thus satisfying them even in the water-filled Fishman Street.

”Don’t worry little Eight, how could those guys be a match for Mandfeish, you underestimate him, sit down and have a drink together? Just picked.”

Ah Long didn’t put that matter in his heart at all; in his view, mere humans wouldn’t be a match for Mandfeish as even he was not a match for Mandfeish.

But little Eight wasn’t as relaxed, seeing that Ah Long didn’t intend to intervene, he went to Fishman Island by himself to inform Mandfeish.

While on Fishman Island, Mandfeish and Rushaka were strolling in Mermaid Bay, he had recently successfully found Hack and handed Jack over to him.

In light of past affiliations, Hack agreed to teach him Fishman Karate and Fishman Jujutsu and allowed Jack to temporarily stay at his house, Fishman residences are generally more spacious than Mermaid’s, and his house wasn’t too far from Rushaka’s, allowing Mandfeish to run back and forth conveniently.

The remuneration was a large bag of pancake rolls; although a Fishman, Hack adored this type of food.

...

”A red Fishman... it should be him, right?”

”Wasn’t he the only new Fishman that came here recently and getting so close to that Rushaka woman? And taking quite a bit of territory from us on Fishman Street, now someone specifically wants him, isn’t this a good opportunity?”

Mandfeish had gained some fame on Fishman Street, having the same thoughts as little Eight when they listened to those human pirates’ description of this matter.

”But... can we beat him?”

”We can’t beat him, but those humans can. Isn’t that guy supposedly one of this year’s Super Rookies? He should be able to handle him, right? I have a plan; use that Mermaid as bait to lure this guy onto the surface. By then, those humans will naturally have ways to deal with him.”

Although Fishmen can live on land, on land, Fishmen’s performance is still not as good as under the sea. If you get Fishmen onto a ship or land, their strength will naturally greatly decrease.

”Good idea, now how do you plan to separate the two of them?”

The entire premise of this plan was separating Mandfeish from Rushaka, yet under the current situation, separating them was impossible. However, while they were having a headache over this, Mandfeish’s Radio Snail rang.

Kojiro’s ship had already completed its coating and was waiting for him at the entrance. Since the ship was full of humans, he chose to have Rushaka wait here...
