Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 147: Chapter 146: Yamato’s Unique Abilities

The attribute of the Plate is Dragon. Although the eighteen Plates are ranked without precedence, if we were to categorize them by power, the Draco Plate is undoubtedly one of the strongest.

Earth, Water, Grass, Electric, and Dragon are called the Sources of Life. These five Plates can comprise the Life Jade, bringing prosperity to a region. Now, except for Earth, the other four are already in my possession, not to mention the Dragon Type Plate that has the strongest effect.

A lot of pseudo-legendary Pokémon have the Dragon attribute, and the enhancements brought by the Draco Plate are visibly powerful. However, there is a small problem: apart from its inherent power, the greatest effect of the Plate is its immunity to attacks.

From a rule standpoint, the ability to be immune to attacks of this attribute is one of the most powerful aspects of the Plate. But in this world, it seems only Kaidou possesses Dragon Type attacks, and considering Dragon’s weakness against Dragon Type...

Looking at Yamato in Chansey’s arms, Arceus couldn’t help but feel it was odd. Kaidou’s daughter helped him find something that was Kaidou’s bane?

After all, with the Draco Plate, when Kaidou uses his ability, he won’t take any damage at all, while he can double the damage to Kaidou.

Finding the Draco Plate is a good thing, but finding it with Yamato’s help makes it rather intriguing.

But this is also fine, as there is no real potential for conflict with Kaidou, and now that Yamato is her adopted daughter and has an inherent advantage against Kaidou, it’s far better than having Lu Bu’s attributes.

After all, being Lu Bu’s adopted father was a high-risk occupation.

”Move freely now, replenish the supplies, then prepare to set sail back.”

This mission went surprisingly smoothly. They hadn’t gotten entangled in any troublesome matters, encountered no chaotic figures, and even managed to find a new Plate.

The island itself wasn’t much of a tourist destination, but it was tranquil. After withdrawing the forces earlier, Arceus guided the direction of the forces, allowing the massive tidal wave to expend its energy in the center of the ocean.

This place only experienced larger waves, causing no real damage. Just before their arrival, residents were still picking fish on the beach. However, upon seeing the Pirate Flag, they hid away; this place didn’t seem to be an island ruled by pirates.

Freshwater, food; the people on the Origin busied themselves as usual. But suddenly, someone on the watchtower sent a signal.

”Lord Arceus! It’s the Golden Jackson! Roger Pirates’ ship is approaching here!”

Pirates usually only feel at ease in their territory, whereas at sea, pirates are always concerned about the situation in nearby waters. Not to mention, being suddenly surrounded by the Navy would be a big hassle.

No pirate crew has the power to overthrow the entire Navy. The Navy’s forces come from the Four Seas, and engaging with them is meaningless, so pirates rarely actively attack the Navy unless they have special objectives.

Now, there’s no sign of warships, but spotting another pirate crew’s ship is still cause for alarm.

”But their ship seems a bit damaged; it likely just experienced a major battle. Lord Arceus, what should we do?”

”Ignore them; just do what you need to do.”

Even without using a telescope, his vision was clear on the state of the Golden Jackson. The main mast was almost broken, and there were holes on both sides of the ship, suggesting they intended to make an emergency repair after docking.

Even though the Golden Jackson was a ship crafted by Tom from the Treasure Tree Adam, it was adversely affected by such a massive tsunami, and the Golden Lion himself wasn’t a weakling either.

Top-notch swordsmanship and Fruit Ability, strong Haki, and Roger Pirates’ breakout also required a certain level of sacrifice; both sides ended up losing quite a bit.

If not for the timely arrival of the subsequent massive tsunami, Roger Pirates would have inevitably paid a greater price. Now, they probably have no interest in actively seeking other enemies.

Arceus’s guess was right; Roger Pirates chose to dock on the island’s other side. This was a customary practice and tradition among pirates.

When both parties are aware of each other, newcomers go to dock on the opposite side; the ones who arrived first do not react, signaling that neither party wishes to make enemies, and after restocking, they leave peacefully.

Arceus disdains meaningless conflict. Roger needed to rest; two years ago, he’d already contracted an incurable disease, kept sailing only by Crocus’s medical skill.

Though his combat strength was unaffected, he was no longer able to fight for extended periods continuously. After his great battle with the Golden Lion, both he and his shipmates needed a rest.

And one person’s thoughts on the ship had changed, that was Douglas Bullet. He joined Roger’s ship because of Roger’s strength.

But after the Battle of Edvaul, he began to doubt Roger’s strength, or rather, living with Roger Pirates wavered his convictions.

After confirming Roger had rested, he once again challenged Roger. The fight didn’t last long; Bullet still couldn’t defeat Roger, but after that, he left Roger Pirates, with no one knowing where he went.

...

”That Bullet guy... finally left, huh.”

”Let him go then. That guy is a dangerous element; it’s better he leaves earlier.” Shanks and Buggy went to the town to replenish supplies. They experienced the least battle during the prior confrontation, hence had the most energy left to take on the task.

After the last incident, Roger had ordered they be accompanied by an adult to go out, but now that they were already 12 years old, Roger had once again relaxed his requirements for them.

At this moment, they passed by two people, and a few steps later, Buggy suddenly remembered something.

”Shanks, do you remember that girl just now?”

”What about her?”

”What about her? You’ve forgotten? Nearly four years ago, on that island, that ability user we encountered!” Compared to Shanks’s slightly rough memory, Buggy had a great recollection, clearly remembering how he’d been tricked years ago by Olga’s ability.

Especially since during these years Olga’s appearance hadn’t changed much, just with a single glance, he recalled her.

”Hmm... can’t remember.”

”You!!” Buggy was so frustrated that his hands separated from his arms, flailing around. Not long ago, he accidentally ate the Chop-Chop Fruit, turning himself into a devil fruit user, more accurately, he swallowed the Chop-Chop Fruit and was lucky not to choke to death.

”Fine, fine, I remember now. So, what do you want to do?”

”She embarrassed us back then. Of course, I’m going to give her a taste of revenge.”

”Wasn’t it because we failed to rob the Treasure Map that time? And she didn’t do anything else, so let it be.”

”I know, I just want to give her a little scare. Thanks to you, I’m now an ability user too.” At this point, Buggy’s tone became a bit wry, and Shanks didn’t continue on the topic.
