Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 124: Chapter 123: Flame Disaster

In terms of immersion, Queen has taken it to the extreme. Every time he sees the Evil Legion Germa 66 getting humiliated, he can’t help but laugh out loud, though his manga reading isn’t for nothing.

Everyone was once part of a research group, and members knew a bit about each other’s research. The ”Sea Warrior: Sky” is adapted by a member of the World Government based on real events.

The ”Sky” on the protagonist’s side and the dream fusion robots and seagulls represent the Navy, while Judge and his team are the antagonists. Although the storyline has major modifications, the villains always end up losing.

This is to portray the Navy’s image of strength and justice, leaving a deep impression in children’s minds.

But the abilities of Germa are depicted realistically. Queen was already somewhat familiar with what Judge researched back then. Seeing the descriptions of the finished products in the manga gave him ideas on the direction of that part of the technology research.

For him, this is not just a recreational read, but also a research report.

And he doesn’t need to buy it specially, just wait for the News Bird to deliver it. Serialization magazines aren’t part of regular content, but spending an extra 20 Belly can get the complete version, following a strategy of small profits but quick returns.

Here, a few people happily pushed carts back to the ship and started organizing the deck, while the battle on King’s side was still ongoing.

It’s not that the enemy is particularly strong, but these people cling to him like glue and won’t let go.

He could choose to fly away directly, but with the state of those people, they would surely catch up. The shoppers might not have returned to the ship yet, he couldn’t just leave them behind, right?

Furthermore, Zephyr had recently rendered him powerless. If he couldn’t even deal with these guys and let them run to Arceus, he’d be truly derelict.

”Do you see that clock tower?”

”I see it, what are you going to do?”

”Just wait there.” With that, King gave a strong flick of his tail, throwing Nightin towards the high tower of the clock tower.

Though she is a ship doctor, she also doubles as a combatant on the ship. Her body techniques aren’t all that bad. With King’s sufficient strength, she landed smoothly on the clock tower. After throwing her out, King became more agile in his actions.

”Flame Disaster!”

The size of the Rock Slide could be adjusted—flaming stones fell from the sky, initiating an indiscriminate attack on the ground. Initially, there were people using buildings as cover to shoot at King, but now King’s choice was to destroy both people and buildings together.

There were no ordinary residents here from the start. This encirclement wasn’t set up in a moment. It’s likely the swap happened quietly last night.

Bullets from the firearms no longer had any effect on King. After transforming, his body was shrouded in flames, making it immune to ordinary firearms. At this moment, the battle was almost a one-sided massacre.

From time to time, King in the sky spewed fire downward. In the firelight, King looked like a fierce dragon, recklessly causing destruction.

”Flame Disaster... Flame Disaster, no wonder he’s called Flame Disaster...”

Even though rocks occasionally appeared in the flames, the impact of fire on humans was far more tremendous than rocks.

It was only at this moment that they remembered King’s wanted poster. Besides his name and information about his pirate crew, he was given the title ”Flame Disaster,” a monster named after disaster.

Fear surged from the bottom of their hearts. They had already lost the courage to resist, their bodies instinctively wanting to flee, but their perspective spun around, and the last image in their mind was a headless body falling in the street.

”That seems to be... me?”

”Brother King! We’re here!”

Different gunfire began to sound from the periphery. Due to the Hundred Beasts Pirate Crew’s main island being an industrial Winter Island, capable of producing superior firearms, these weapons were sometimes used for trade but were also widespread within their pirate crew.

Because of the different barrel structures, their gunfire sounded crisper.

However, as the previous shrewd one thought, this battle didn’t consume much time; they could only wrap up when they arrived.

But the battle didn’t end because of this. Despite their rout, the foes didn’t flee to seemingly safe areas but rather ran towards the most severely burning areas.

Water and fire are merciless. Charging straight into the flames was too abnormal. Where there’s abnormality, there’s something amiss, so King waved to stop his subordinates from continuing the pursuit.

”Hey, you’ve lived here for a while, right? Is there anything unusual over there?”

Nightin quickly jumped down from the clock tower. Even at the grand age of 80, she could temporarily turn back time using medicine and even had a brief encounter with Hancock. Now in her forties, even if not a full-time combatant, her strength surpassed an ordinary pirate by far.

Though she was powerless in group fights, she hadn’t reached the level where she could ignore numbers and heavy artillery.

”Over there... there are only a few pharmacies, nothing else, but I remember it’s a dead-end. Why would they run there?”

Standing high gives a far view. The clock tower’s walls blocked ordinary bullets, and they didn’t have time to operate cannons under King’s assault. Even if someone attempted to climb, in the narrow channel, they couldn’t compete with Nightin, so she had time to observe the bounty hunters’ escape directions.

At this moment, the flames burning all around suddenly extinguished, not little by little, but all at once within the area.

Those who had initially fled returned again, followed by a strange person. Their belly seemed to have turned into a blackboard, with the words fire and extinguish written on it.

Humans couldn’t grow a blackboard on their stomachs; this clearly was a Fruit Ability.

The bounty hunters came in various strengths and were a necessary part of the New World, though they appeared infrequently.

Pirates who caught other pirates, if they didn’t want to recruit them and found it useless to keep them, would send them to the Navy to exchange for bounties. As pirates, they couldn’t deliver them personally, and the bounty hunters often acted as intermediaries.

Bounty hunting is a profession with a very low entry barrier, with varying degrees of professionalism. However, one point stands out—strength is paramount. To survive in the New World, one must have people with real skills, and this person was the support for this group of bounty hunters.

He would only show up when things couldn’t be resolved, typically only dealing with money matters. As long as the money was right, any business was negotiable.

Looking closely, only that small house remained intact in the area affected by King’s flames, standing strikingly out of place with its surroundings.

”A wanted criminal with a bounty of three hundred million Belly—no wonder you couldn’t handle him. As agreed, his three hundred million is mine, and you still need to prepare another hundred million Belly for me.”
