Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 130: Chapter 129: Chansey’s Egg

For three years they had been searching, but only found that one piece, which made Kaidou realize this would be a massive project.

He wasn’t slacking off, but there was nothing he could do if he couldn’t find it.

In the Pirate World, it’s not a joke to have your own daughter acknowledge someone as a godfather. This kind of thing is common. For instance, Whitebeard’s endeavor to adopt sons is in full swing, and the members of the Whitebeard Pirates are continuously increasing.

Having Yamato acknowledge Kaidou as godfather was also part of his strategy to strengthen ties through his daughter.

”Not impossible, but don’t you think your previous training plan was too strict?”

”No, she is my daughter after all; she should be able to withstand that level. Oh, remember a few years ago when I said to save a strong ability for me? Give it to her.”

”She’s too young. She can’t handle that kind of ability yet. Let’s wait a bit longer. We should also start preparing to move. It’s no longer suitable as the main island here.”

This is ultimately a Winter Island. At first, Hundred Beasts’ territory wasn’t large, and the business here was important, so the headquarters was located here.

But now that Hundred Beasts’ territory has expanded and manpower has increased, this Winter Island is no longer suitable as a main island. There are islands with a climate of eternal spring in the territory, so it’s overdue for relocation.

Having children now makes it even more so; the environment here isn’t conducive to their growth or for the growth of plants. Queen can only cultivate plants inside the laboratory.

With the addition of Miltank, moving house has been put on the agenda. The quality of Miltank’s milk is greatly related to their food. High-quality pasture can enhance both the taste and nutrition of the milk.

Previously, the business revolved around fruits, so he neglected this issue. Now, to raise children, he modified two Miltanks, realizing that livestock farming can also be developed.

”There are suitable islands, but they’re not yet ready.”

”Let’s put things on the agenda. By the way, this is for you.” He tossed a Resurrection Grass to Kaidou and explained its use.

”Ohoho, a second life? It’s really an interesting thing. Should find a chance to try it out...”

”It’s meant for emergencies, not for you to get yourself killed. You’ve been captured several times in these three years. Can you remember that?”

”Don’t worry, those guys can’t harm me.”

Four Chanseys existed to take turns in shifts, reassuring Kaidou that Yamato was well taken care of, especially since they were creatures created by Arceus.

Others might not know, but Kaidou wasn’t surprised by Arceus bringing back some strange creatures. He could guess their origin.

The Chanseys and Miltank were prepared to take care of Yamato, but Jack also received a bit of care; the Chanseys would occasionally take care of him.

After the initial excitement wore off, most people returned to their residences, and even Kaidou relaxed and went back to drink. His laissez-faire policy had evidently begun.

Only Setsuna and Shaina still showed some interest in these two babies. But it seemed the Chanseys were doing their job well, so there was no need to intervene in other matters.

Yet, Setsuna’s attention shifted to something else – the Chanseys, as she was examining these peculiar creatures.

Miltanks could be described as upright walking cows, but the Chanseys didn’t resemble anything she was familiar with, their round pink bodies resembling eggs.

On top of their heads were appendage-like strands. Of course, the most noteworthy feature was the kangaroo-like pouch in front of their bodies, containing a large egg.

”Um... Can that egg be eaten? It looks delicious...”

She glanced curiously at the idle Chansey beside her and voiced her question.

”Lucky?”

Chansey shook its head at Setsuna, though it lacked a neck, it swayed its body to convey the motion.

The Chanseys’ eggs can be eaten and are also a rare delicacy. If necessary, they can produce several eggs a day, but they rarely give them away, regularly protecting them meticulously.

Chanseys are very gentle Pokemons, and only give their eggs to those they love or to those they believe need nutritional replenishment.

Intuition told Setsuna that the egg was delicious, which is why she asked, and Chansey seemed to be deliberating whether to give her an egg.

Although they don’t speak like Zeraora and lack significant strategic value, being created purely as caregivers, they too received some knowledge from Arceus.

”Lucky~” This was directed at Arceus, as the Chansey appeared uncertain.

”Just follow your own feelings, don’t overthink it.” He cherished the creatures he created, respecting the habits of the species, like the Chanseys’ emphasis on eggs.

The Chansey pondered and eventually handed an egg to Setsuna.

”Thank you, tomorrow I’ll grill fish for you all.”

Though the Chanseys’ language was only ”lucky,” Setsuna could almost understand their general meaning.

In Fur Race customs, the best way to express friendliness to an unfamiliar outsider was to exchange clothes, but there wasn’t anything on Chansey that could be traded.

So, after giving Chansey a nuzzle with a Karuchu, she left with those parting words, cradling the egg back with her.

The next day,

The news of Kaidou having a daughter spread throughout the island. As Kaidou’s biological daughter and Arceus’s goddaughter, the recently one-month-old Yamato held a significant status here.

But then an unexpected visitor appeared on the island. She arrived on Scotch’s ship, delayed due to dealing with some reckless newcomers, thus only reaching the nearby seas this morning.

As he was preparing to head back to the island, another ship blocked their way, from which an old woman disembarked.

With a head of white hair, a white band tied around her head, and two burning candles stuck in it, her bizarre appearance made Scotch think she must be out of her mind.

”Who are you? Can’t you see the flag on the ship?” The Revolver Machine Gun embedded on his arm was immediately raised. Entering another pirate’s domain rashly could justify immediate destruction.

”Nyehahaha, don’t be so hasty, young man. I have a big business deal to discuss with your Captain, and he’ll see me. I’ve already seen it in a prophecy.”
