Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 139: Chapter 138: Kaidou Swings His Club, Aimed at Orochi

This is the power of illusions. After three years of training, she can skillfully use Zoroark’s illusion abilities even in Human-Beast Form. In 4 minutes and 27 seconds, Olga dealt with all the enemies, though some required her to make the extra move since they couldn’t decide the victor.

Yes, she thought Kaidou meant to annihilate them.

”King, you’re outmatched. Olga can handle these guys in under four and a half minutes, and you need three whole minutes.”

”What, do you want to see how many minutes it would take me to beat you?”

King and Queen started arguing, but it only lasted two lines because, with the appearance of Queen’s treasured Shaina, Queen wisely chose to shut up. However, Kaidou’s next words made Kurozumi Higurashi’s heart tremble.

Kurozumi Higurashi originally thought this was just Kaidou’s display of power, only wanting to flaunt militant strength. Unexpectedly, Kaidou followed up by saying to her, ”You people are too weak. How can you guard this place properly like this? Anyway, since we’re allies now, leave this place to us.

Babanuki, take your men and take over the defense of this place. Let our allies have a good rest.”

It was only then that she realized Kaidou intended to directly take over the defense here. Crossing the waterfall is far more dangerous than the Hidden Port, and there are only a few who can fly, meaning Kaidou wanted to control the throat of Wano Kuni’s imports and exports.

”This isn’t appropriate...”

”Don’t be so polite. Look, these people here can’t even stop a little girl from my ship. How can they stop foreign invaders? I’m doing this for your own good. Do you not even have this much trust?”

”Well... Lord Orochi has already been waiting for some time. It’s not suitable for you all to guard here directly upon arrival. Let’s discuss it later. I think Lord Orochi would agree.”

Kurozumi Higurashi dared not directly agree, suggesting that Kaidou should first meet with Kurozumi Orochi. Seeing Kurozumi Higurashi’s nervous expression, Kaidou agreed to her request, realizing that he couldn’t move too fast, intending just to put some pressure on her.

They had just arrived here, so naturally they couldn’t leave their subordinates here to watch the gate right away. His goal was to gain control here afterward, not to take over completely. He only needed his people here.

At present, it was simply a case of making an excessive initial demand to bargain down from, but Kaidou’s standards were rather high.

After Olga dispelled the Illusion Realm, these people noticeably quieted down, though some still murmured things like ”witch,” unaware of what Devil Fruit powers entailed.

But Olga had proven everything with her fists, so although the people coming off the ship were of various shapes and sizes, including several non-humans, no one raised any questions.

At this moment, Orochi was in the Flower Capital, the central location of Wano Kuni. The internal canals of Wano Kuni were divided into several parts, with the position from which Hidden Port emerged being in the Hakumai region. From there, crossing the bridge north led to the Flower Capital, where Orochi was located.

The grand procession along the way drew the attention of the local residents of Wano Kuni. They hadn’t seen so many outsiders in who knew how long, and the Hundred Beast Corps included quite a few non-humans: Arceus, Chansey, Zeraora, Setsuna, and Elizabeth.

Their unique appearances kept the people whispering, but the lead individual flew the banner of Orochi, so no commotion was caused.

The Beasts Pirates went straight through Hakumai and reached the Flower Capital, and this matter was first delivered to Shimotsuki Yasuie, the Daimyo of Hakumai.

”Lord Yasuie, a group of outsiders has been taken to the Flower Capital by Orochi’s people.”

The Daimyos were skeptical of Orochi becoming the acting General, and Shimotsuki Yasuie had also felt puzzled by it, as Orochi had once lived incognito under his command, serving as a servant.

However, Kozuki Sukiyaki had just passed away, and his final wish was for Orochi to serve as acting General until Oden’s return, which stabilized the domestic situation.

The obituary of Kozuki Sukiyaki had just spread across Wano Kuni not long before, and it was somewhat suspicious that outsiders were being brought in by Orochi at this time.

”Send someone to see what those people are doing. I still trust Lord Sukiyaki.”

The people of Wano Kuni had a near-blind worship of the Kozuki Family Generals, which was why Kurozumi Orochi managed to gain control of Wano Kuni so smoothly.

Carrying the banner of Kurozumi Orochi, the Beasts Pirates faced no obstruction as they entered the Flower Capital. By the time they reached the Flower Capital, it was already night, but the lanterns still illuminated the area. Although it was a closed country, the citizens’ lives weren’t too bad.

Soon, they arrived at Orochi’s residence, the center of the Flower Capital where the General resided, though Kurozumi Orochi was planning to rename it to Orochi City.

”Guhihihihi, I’ve been waiting for you, Kaidou. Are you satisfied with the gift I sent?”

He initially thought this would be a cordial meeting, but things didn’t turn out as he hoped. Kaidou didn’t show him much goodwill. On top of that, after saying this, he felt like something unknown was watching him, giving him a chill down his spine.

”Satisfied, of course, satisfied. I will surely repay... ah, repay you.”

Kaidou’s lips curled into a peculiar smile, though danger was lurking within. Unfortunately, Kurozumi Orochi didn’t catch on to this.

”As long as you’re satisfied, come on, everyone, I’ve prepared the grandest welcoming ceremony.”

But from this moment on, everything started to feel somewhat off. The ordinary members just ate and drank at the hall below, while a few officers along with Kaidou entered Orochi’s banquet hall.

From that moment on, Orochi’s troubles began. He felt the Beasts seemed to be nitpicking.

The food didn’t suit their taste, the wine was too bland, the servers stepped with their right foot first — reasons as bizarre as they were countless. They finally managed to make it to the ceremonial sake-sharing step.

Both he and Kaidou raised their bowls, but Orochi didn’t notice one thing: Kaidou didn’t drink a single drop of sake; it all ended up spilled on his lapel.

Yet, after that, he stood up with a drunken air, because he had consumed quite a bit of alcohol earlier as well, and Orochi didn’t find it odd.

”What’s wrong, Kaidou?”

”Wugorogoro, these women of yours are terrible dancers. How about I entertain you instead?”

Saying that, he ignored the bewildered dancers, moved to the center of the hall, and started dancing a strange, somewhat comical dance. His Eight Fists somehow ended up in his hands again during his odd dance moves.

Orochi originally thought Kaidou was trying to make peace, laughing heartily while seated. But before his laughter could fade, he saw Kaidou’s Wolf Fang Club flying toward him, barely stopped by a barrier just in time.

”Kaidou?! What are you trying to do!”
