Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 129: Chapter 128: Birth of the Hundred Beasts Babysitter Squad

The child wrapped in leather also had a shell hanging from him, which seemed to have been intentionally fixed in place. It was engraved with words, recording the child’s name and date of birth.

Jack, September 28. Behind it was a string of small characters that roughly summarized the situation.

The main idea was that the child was a Fishman, but looked nothing like one, so his father didn’t believe he was a pureblood Fishman and abandoned him, hoping a kind person would adopt him.

This was clearly the work of a Fishman, as paper couldn’t be preserved in the ocean, so they chose to engrave on a shell.

Olga was hardly considered an adult, so among everyone present, Shaina was the only adult female. She was gently rocking the cradle, reminiscing about the past.

Many years ago, besides her and King, there was actually a younger child among the Lunarians, but he didn’t survive.

The Lunarians have a strong survival ability, but their infants are still fragile. In the midst of their exile, the child couldn’t hold on.

The cradle made by Arceus was very sturdy, and as it gently rocked, even little Yamato seemed to show a hint of a smile at the corners of her mouth, which resonated with the heartfelt smile on Shaina’s lips.

”Mr. Kaidou, what are your plans for this child in the future?”

Everyone present was either a rough-and-tumble guy or underage. Shaina didn’t think they had the ability to take care of a child, and even though she had her own things to do, she couldn’t dedicate all her energy here.

Judging by Kaidou’s meaning, the child’s mother was also an unknown factor, and it was unclear what plans he had for the future.

”Start her training at three years old. She’s my bloodline, so she absolutely won’t be a weakling. By then...” Kaidou seemed to imagine the scene many years down the line.

BIG MOM’s children include quite a few strong individuals, and his children won’t be any worse. However, Arceus once again pulled him back to reality.

”Hey, Kaidou, aren’t you thinking too far ahead? Even if you start her training at three, what about now?”

A person’s physical condition cannot be generalized. Some can do a slide tackle to take down a tiger, while some can toss their wet nurse shortly after birth. Kaidou’s daughter won’t be a weakling, but for now, she’s just a newborn baby who still needs others’ care.

Even if Kaidou had envisioned the age of 3 to 18, she was now just a baby who couldn’t speak.

”Now? Are there any wet nurses on the island? Just find a couple.”

”Mr. Kaidou, an ordinary wet nurse might not work; she’s quite strong.” Right now, Yamato was grabbing Shaina’s finger. Young children get hungry quickly and need to eat many meals a day.

Even though they didn’t know what Kaidou fed her last time, she was clearly already hungry.

Grabbing and playing with Shaina’s finger started sucking on it. The feeling on Shaina’s finger didn’t bother her, but an ordinary breastfeeding woman might not be able to handle it.

Moreover, babies inevitably cry and cause trouble. It seemed like taking good care of her required a certain amount of training.

”Is she hungry? Kaidou, what did you feed her last time?”

”I caught a lactating tiger from a nearby island. Is she hungry already? Toddlers are really troublesome. Wouldn’t it be fine if she drank some alcohol?”

”Are you kidding me! You really are drunk, aren’t you?” As Kaidou had returned with the child this time, he hadn’t drunk halfway through his journey. But once inside, after handing the child over to them, he’d started drinking again.

Kaidou’s brains can be trusted as long as he hasn’t touched any alcohol because if he really gets drunk, you can’t count on him to do anything other than fight.

”Forget it, I’ll handle it. King, come with me. Shaina, keep this drunkard away from the child for now.”

Such conscientious partners aren’t easy to find. Besides the expected reward, they also handle the child’s problems. Outside of this place, Kaidou couldn’t possibly find a second.

And Arceus, along with King, approached a few households and eventually bought two cows. Normally they wouldn’t sell their cows, but since a Hundred Beasts officer personally visited to buy the cows, they couldn’t refuse, and the price given was enough to buy two new ones.

However, these two cows ended up walking back upright. From today on, they were no longer ordinary cows but had become Miltank. Miltank was the new wet nurse Arceus prepared for Yamato.

It looked like an upright cow, but its body turned pink, and the tail ends with a black ball. Having only females is one of the specific traits of the Miltank species.

Miltank’s milk has a sweet taste that changes with the seasons, and its nutritional content is very high. A child growing up drinking Miltank milk usually has good health.

Miltank can produce 20 liters of milk daily. If it doesn’t expel the milk, Miltank’s body feels uncomfortable. This output is enough even for the Giant Race.

Kaidou, watching the upright-walking cows brought back by Arceus, seemed to sober up a bit from his original drunken state.

”Is this... a cow?”

”That’s right, use their milk from now on. Be careful not to overfeed; otherwise, she might get fat.”

He wasn’t saying this to Kaidou but to four other round creatures.

Besides the two Miltanks, he’d also created four Chanseys.

Most of the time, Arceus now opts to modify rather than create. However, with Chansey as Pokemon, there weren’t many objects for modification. He couldn’t just randomly look for an egg to modify.

Taking care of children was best left to Chanseys; they were naturally very good at such things.

”Lucky~”

Chansey responded to Arceus’ orders. These Chanseys, unlike Zeraora, he didn’t bother to give the ability to speak human language; he could understand them regardless.

Besides the prepared cows and Chanseys, he also brought back a couple of baby bottles, knowing Kaidou wouldn’t have those prepared.

Milking, heating, adjusting temperature, the four Chanseys arranged everything perfectly. It was in their nature, which is why the Chansey species mostly worked as assistants at Pokemon Centers.

”By the way, add milk to the goods list for BIG MOM. Two little ones won’t need much, and over thirty liters can be stored daily. Even after a bit of internal consumption, there’s enough for her to use.”

Miltank milk indeed provides high caloric energy, but consuming it isn’t a problem as long as the energy is used up. Since Yamato is still a toddler, it’s important to watch her food intake and caloric energy, like occasionally mixing in some water.

But BIG MOM doesn’t have to worry about this, and she likely wouldn’t care about such things. She’s already showing signs of getting a little hefty.

”You really are careful. Why not become her godfather? It’ll help you find those things when she grows up.”
