Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 146: Chapter 145: New Plates and Edvaul’s Great Tsunami

The Origin left the Hidden Port of Wano Kuni with just over a hundred people on board, while the rest stayed behind. The navigator had already charted the course to the Edvaul Sea Region, and quite a few people of peculiar ages had joined Arceus’s crew.

Olga marked the day she left the belly of the Sea King as her rebirth, resetting her age to 8, selectively forgetting the over a hundred years inside the belly.

By that calculation, she was now already 14, the same age calculation as Elizabeth. As for Zeraora, if you had to count, he was actually less than 4 years old, though both his mind and body were mature.

The only genuine minor was the almost 11-year-old Setsuna, who was months away from her 11th birthday.

Of course, there was now also Yamato, and Arceus didn’t understand why Kaidou had insisted on letting him bring a child along, truly unafraid that anything might happen to his daughter.

After leaving the Hidden Port and reaching the nearby sea, the ocean calmed down again. Arceus could even see a few Magikarps splashing around. They seemed to sense Arceus’s presence and followed the ship.

Only when he left the waters of Wano Kuni did those Magikarps swim upstream back. Arceus instructed them not to leave the nearby sea as they were their descendants.

The reproduction rate of Magikarps is swift, and the first batch of offspring has already spread throughout the surrounding waters, and the Origin set sail towards Edvaul.

...

After a while, the Origin was nearing the island near Edvaul, and a major event was occurring on the Edvaul sea.

At Navy Headquarters, the current Navy Admiral Kong was persuading Garp to accept the position of Admiral. But when the messenger brought news of the encounter between Roger and the Golden Lion in the Edvaul Sea Region, Garp stormed out the door.

More than the admiral rank, he was more interested in pursuing Roger.

Aokiji, who had been with the Navy for three years, admired Garp for refusing the admiral rank, and followed Garp along with Sengoku aboard a warship bound for the Edvaul Sea Region.

The simultaneous deployment of Navy Hero Garp and Headquarter Admiral Sengoku filled the headquarters’ navy with confidence.

Meanwhile, in the Edvaul Sea Region, the Roger Pirates were facing off against the Flying Sky Pirates.

More specifically, the Golden Lion’s fleet had surrounded Roger’s pirate ship.

Dozens of pirate ships affiliated with the Flying Sky Pirates encircled Roger’s Golden Jackson ship, and the Golden Lion made his offer.

”Roger! Though we had scores in our youth, let them drift away with the wind now. You know the whereabouts of world-destroying weapons.

And I have the forces and years of planning. Together, you and I can rule the world! Come be my right hand, Roger!”

The Golden Lion extended his invitation to Roger on the sea, but under immense pressure, the Roger Pirates prepared for battle, with just one person—Buggy—urging Roger to temporarily comply with the Golden Lion, though no one paid him any heed.

Be it Vice Captain Rayleigh, ship doctor Crocus, or fellow intern Shanks, no one intended to help him.

”I have no interest in ruling the world, Shiki! A pirate needs to do what he wants!”

The battle was imminent, but Gol D. Roger was at a disadvantage in terms of forces; the Golden Lion, as a contemporary Legendary Great Pirate with the Float-Float Fruit combined with remarkable swordsmanship, was very powerful.

His subordinates were strong, putting the Roger Pirates at a disadvantage initially. As time went by, the ocean showed an unusual condition; the unpredictable climate of the New World brought forth a devastating tsunami.

Just as the Golden Lion eyed the approaching tsunami with unease, it suddenly vanished, returning the sea to tranquility.

”Hahaha! Roger, destiny favors me! Even the sea complies with me, surrender now and I’ll give you another chance!”

”Stop dreaming, Shiki. No matter how many times you ask, my answer will be no. The only outcome today is to take you all down, Kamusari!”

”Then you’ll die here, Lion·Thousand-Cut!”

The impending tsunami abruptly disappeared, and the one responsible for it was in the nearby sea, calming the ocean was Arceus, for he sensed a presence at the sea’s bottom.

”Yamato, you’re truly a lucky star.”

”Lucky?” Yamato, having learned only a few words, mostly just says ”lucky” like Chansey, didn’t understand what Arceus meant, but it didn’t stop him from being happy.

”Yes, indeed, lucky.”

The Splash Plate emerged and submerged into the sea, calming the once raging ocean instantly. Subsequently, the sea split into two, with countless waters receding, revealing the seabed below.

”Is this the power of Lord Arceus....”

”What divine power is this...” Arceus seldom intervened, but when he did, it was with unimaginable power. Many could agitate the sea to boil, but few could calm the raging ocean and make it obediently split into two.

The seabed began to tremble; influenced by Arceus’s power, a Plate broke out from the seabed’s silt, merging into Arceus, significantly enhancing his power.

However, with the Plate’s return, he discovered a peculiar issue; beneath lay two continental shelves, with the Plate stuck in between. By retrieving it, the balance was disrupted.

Currently, it was his power maintaining the balance, but as soon as he withdrew it, a massive undersea earthquake would occur here.

”Have everyone brace themselves; something bigger is coming.” Using the power of the Zap Plate, he enveloped the entire ship, and the Origin soared into the sky.

Then he withdrew his power, unleashing a violent force from the seabed. The earlier tsunami was like a child compared to the current one.

At the Golden Lion and Roger’s battlefield, the Golden Lion was full of confidence initially, but with the arrival of a new tsunami, everything changed.

”Shiki! The sea doesn’t look like it’s on your side! Ready for a breakout, crew!” Roger unleashed a Kamusari to cut Shiki, cutting off his attempt to use his Fruit Ability to lead his fleet into the sky.

With the tsunami’s arrival, the Roger Pirates successfully broke through, while over two-thirds of the Flying Sky Pirates’ ships were destroyed, leaving them heavily damaged.

More disastrously, a flying ship’s rudder struck the Golden Lion’s head, and due to the rudder connecting with many nerves, the ship doctor dared not remove it for fear of endangering his life, leaving it permanently lodged in the Golden Lion’s head.

”What a pity, just a little bit more, Roger’s luck is really something else.”

The one responsible for it all was resting on a nearby island, marking a bountiful venture.

Arceus wanted to strike while the iron was hot, asking Yamato to choose a few more places, but her luck seemed exhausted as the chosen island was unspectacular, with no feeling of Plates around.

Yet, watching Yamato play, Arceus couldn’t shake off the feeling that something odd was about the Plate’s attribute this time...
