Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 123: Chapter 122: Someone Is Selling Fake Medicine

In the Four Seas and the First Half of the Grand Line, there might still be remnants of them, but within the New World, wherever BIG MOM could exert influence, not a single trace of them could be found.

Perospero was particularly diligent this time, one could say he was working as if his life depended on it.

To survive, they had to find a way to leave the New World. Their headquarters and the loyalists who sought revenge were already annihilated, so the remaining people naturally scattered like birds and beasts.

In order to gather items for their escape, almost everything that could be sold was sold, including the formulas for those anesthetics. With these formulas, the organ trafficking and assassination groups captured many targets, including but not limited to various non-human creatures and exotic beasts.

However, when the powder of the drug dispersed, both King and the pharmacy owner stood there unscathed.

For King, this amount of anesthetic was nothing; the Lunarians naturally had high resistance, and through experiments in the laboratory, his body had developed a significant drug resistance, making such drugs ineffective on him.

Moreover, his mask was no ordinary mask. Given that he had to wear a mask all the time, he naturally wanted it to be as comfortable as possible. The materials of King’s mask were specially crafted, not only offering excellent comfort but also filtering harmful gases to some extent.

Materials that could maintain both of these characteristics were extremely rare, and it was only after Queen used berry seeds to cultivate new plants and Asie’s processing that they finally obtained this fabric.

With these two conditions combined, their anesthetic had absolutely no effect.

On the other hand, the pharmacy owner was different. She quickly grabbed various drugs from the cabinet behind her, mixed them, and directly swallowed them, instantly negating the effects of the other party’s anesthetic.

”You need that extinct herb, right? I still have some leftover seeds. There’s a chance they might sprout. Take me away from here, and those things will be yours.”

”Deal, but are you sure you dare to come with me? Your Captain was defeated by Brother Kaidou.”

The recent cannon explosion had generated some shockwaves, and the shop owner’s mask seemed to be made of something similar to a face mask, clearly of inferior quality, which allowed King to recognize her identity.

Wald Pirates’ ship doctor - Nightin.

”As long as you aren’t lackeys of the World Government, it doesn’t matter.” For the members of Wald Pirates, although Wald was defeated by Kaidou, Kaidou did not bother to keep them around.

The real transformation was brought about by the World Government’s agents and the betrayal of subordinates.

Bingjack had no choice but to order the members of Wald to disperse individually, but after the World Government captured Wald, it showed no intention of sparing them.

Due to Wald’s influence, they also had considerable bounties on their heads, but without Wald as their combat strength, those bounties only made their lives more difficult.

Therefore, Bingjack ordered everyone to go into hiding, and when Wald reappeared, they would regroup. During this time, their task was to protect themselves and accumulate as much wealth as they could.

It wasn’t unheard of, or rather it was quite common, for pirates to join the enemy’s crew after a defeat. Most pirates would merge valuable individuals after defeating an opponent.

She believed that few could surpass her in herbal research, and even if it were another pirate crew, they wouldn’t do anything to her. Due to her undercover mission, she had a poor perception of the World Government.

She had also lived on this island for a while, mainly because it was home to some precious herbs.

The extinct herb she referred to was also something King needed, as he had found what seemed to be one of the plants described by Asie.

As for why Nightin was willing to make a deal with King, she had a clear understanding of her own combat power. She had some confidence in a 1v1 or group battle but not in a multiple-opponent scenario. Those two cannons didn’t look like they could only fire anesthetic shells.

”Damn it... those bastards actually sold fake medicine!”

This was his current thought. The previous formula had been proven effective, so the problem now lay with their newly acquired drugs.

However, he didn’t have time to deal with those ”fake medicine vendors.” Everyone is an adult and must take responsibility for their actions. Since they had launched an attack, it was reasonable for King to retaliate.

King immediately transformed into his Beast Form, his tail wrapping around Nightin and lifting her into the air, then began his attack.

...

”Isn’t that Brother King? Why is he fighting someone?”

”Who cares why he’s fighting? It’s all merit! Charge! Do you want Mandfeish to keep showing off in front of you?”

Mandfeish was now recognized as the luckiest person in the Hundred Beast Corps. He was the first non-officer to acquire a Fruit Ability, and the fair selection process left them with no complaints, but it didn’t mean they didn’t want the ability themselves.

Unless faced with an overwhelming power disparity, pirates would not fear battle. Such individuals would not choose to set sail and become pirates.

In the midst of battle, King did not represent danger but glory. Many pirates immediately dropped what they were holding and rushed over with weapons in their hands.

Seeing these people rush headlong into the fray, some pirates sneered, having no intention of joining the fight, and gathered up the items left behind, pushing a cart back to the ship.

It wasn’t the newly recruited members who had just joined Hundred Beasts. King would only use his Beast Form when he deemed opponents undeserving of his full power, and the sight of King in the sky was clearly cleaning up the small fry. By the time they got there, it would be too late anyway.

There weren’t many complex factions under Hundred Beasts; if anything, an Arceus Sect had mingled in, whose doctrine simply put was that by believing in Arceus, one could gain everything.

This was also the external explanation for Zeraora’s electric power. After all, for the Fur Race, this power was somewhat extraordinary.

Rather than join in a fight where they weren’t needed, they considered how to make Arceus happy.

For example, besides the daily supplies on their cart, there was also a stack of books, which were Arceus’s daily reading entertainment.

The diverse islands gave birth to different customs and cultures, and at the same time, many novelists and manga artists emerged.

Every wealthy island had its own culture, not to mention that certain works could be sold worldwide, such as the comic ”Sea Warrior: Sky,” serialized in the World Economic News.

The days of sailing were boring, and sometimes reading comics was a good pastime.

It’s worth mentioning that Queen was also interested in this comic, primarily because he immediately recognized that the basis for the villain was none other than Judge, which seemed to satisfy his disregard for Judge.
