Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 104: Chapter 103: The Eerie Fruit

The Pokémon created by him will not betray him, so indirectly controlling the Fur Race through them is a simple and feasible method.

As for that wolf-furred girl, Zou can accept the coexistence of dual kings, so he sent Zeraora to handle the relationship with the wolf fur, hoping their relationship would be more intimate before returning to Zou.

Zeraora was originally a genderless mythical creature, but he made slight modifications. It wouldn’t be impossible if he succeeded in his strategy.

This will likely take some time since the wolf-furred girl clearly has no intention of returning.

At night, the wolf-furred girl fell into a deep sleep, so Arceus first called out several officers to introduce Zeraora to them. While they knew Zeraora’s true identity, to others, he would appear as a member of the Cat Fur Race.

King and Shaina had no objections, but Shaina felt a bit strange. She was the first to arrive, but it seemed Arceus had a new trusted confidant.

She felt empty inside. In such a situation, a competitive behavior gradually emerged, aiming to prove who was the most reliable trusted subordinate.

However, this internal competition hadn’t shown itself yet. The next day, when the wolf-furred girl woke up, she found a new fur race member on the ship.

She sniffed carefully, and Shaina explained some overseas knowledge to her, but Zeraora’s aura was completely different from that of a regular human.

This had to be a genuine fur race member from overseas that she had never seen before.

”Kalu-chu~”

”Kalu-chu.”

So far, the first step of contact seemed relatively good.

At a height of 1.5 meters, he wasn’t particularly tall in the Pirate World. Although he had taught Zeraora some world knowledge and language skills, he was just a newborn ”child.”

Getting along with the wolf fur was quite good. Everything overseas was new and exciting to her, whether it was the horned Kaidou or Arceus.

Previously, Shaina was mentoring Olga. Now that Olga had graduated, Shaina found herself with the wolf-furred girl and Zeraora under her wing, giving her the appearance of becoming a kindergarten director.

However, she was happy about it, as it showed she still held Arceus’s trust and favor, which was why she was assigned these tasks.

In a matter of days, the Hundred Beasts returned to the main island with their spoils from this expedition. The Winter Island environment greatly appealed to the wolf-furred girl as the Fur Race feared heat, and Zou rarely ventured into winter climates, making it her first time seeing snow.

”Zeraora, look, it’s snow! It’s really cold!”

Compared to the strange humans, these hairless fur races, the authentic fur race felt familiar to her, so she got along well with Zeraora.

Additionally, Shaina appeared to have gained a bit of a mystic trait recently. Under the dual influence of her and Zeraora, the wolf-furred girl subconsciously developed a bit of admiration for Arceus.

”Setsuna, slow down.”

Before the ship had stopped completely, she leapt off it. Setsuna was her name, but she was just a white wolf.

Although Zeraora called out for her to slow down, it seemed he was too late.

She ran too fast and accidentally bumped into something. Looking up, she found a chubby human standing in front of her.

”Fur Race? Where did you come from?”

It was Queen, who had come to meet the ship. He needed to tally the spoils and take back the parts for distribution.

Yet, before the ship had even docked, a fur race member had jumped off, not to mention there was more than one.

”This one’s with me, and that one was brought back by Lord Sacred Beast. Any objections?”

”No, of course not. What an adorable fur race member. Want some fruit?”

Queen, who had just looked impatient, showcase his quick change of expression and pulled out two fruits.

After all, it wasn’t uncommon for people from the Hundred Beast Corps to bring back a child from their excursions. Last time King and Olga went out shopping, they brought back thirteen children, who are now helping out in Asie’s workshop.

This time, Shaina and her group picked up two fur race members. If they picked up a fish-man next time, he wouldn’t be surprised.

But she was a wolf fur, and although she ate fruit, she wasn’t particularly fond of it.

In the sky, the Thousand-Year Dragons transformed into the primordial giant birds and flew to the mountain in the back, their new gathering place. Other than being a bit cold, everything was good there.

It wasn’t their first battle anymore, so many things had set procedures. Shaina went off to arrange accommodations for Setsuna and Zeraora, King took the treasure back to the vault, and Queen took the remaining portion and account book to share the spoils.

Kaidou wandered around without doing much, so when he returned, he randomly flew off somewhere due to a sudden whim.

.....

Kaidou was habitually missing, so in his absence, Arceus naturally took charge. Years of accumulation by the organ trafficking and assassination groups had fallen into the hands of the Hundred Beasts. What they distributed was just regular treasure; the precious things were naturally kept away.

Arceus didn’t understand those so-called works of art, and they were only valuable to some extent. Compared to those lifeless things whose value might change at any time, Devil Fruits and famed swords held more value to pirates.

However, there was no clear swordsman in the Hundred Beast Corps. Although King used a sword, it was more of a tool, and none of the swords collected this time were particularly exceptional, so they were temporarily stored in the treasure vault, waiting for their future owner.

The item with the greatest practical significance this time was probably a Devil Fruit.

”Queen, do you know what kind of fruit this is?”

”Wait a minute, Boss Arceus, this Fruit is a bit rare. I need to take my time finding it.”

The Devil Fruit Encyclopaedia, like a dictionary, has an index. It’s categorized by fruit pattern, color, and type, like apple shape, green, with square, feather-like patterns.

This fruit was hard to categorize, making it challenging to find.

”It might be an unrecorded type... ah, no, found it.”

Not all Devil Fruits are documented in the encyclopedia. No one knows exactly how many have appeared over the centuries, nor can they say precisely how many unseen fruits exist.

In the end, though, Queen found the record for this fruit, implying it once had an owner.

Yet upon seeing the record in the encyclopedia, Queen fell silent, unsure of what to say.

”What’s wrong, what kind of fruit is it?”

”Human-Human Fruit - Ancient - Primal Human Form...” Queen hesitantly read out the answer from the encyclopedia.

It’s just that this fruit’s name sounded too bizarre.
