Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 137: Chapter 136: Kaidou’s Show of Force

Transforming tens of thousands of Magikarp is labor-intensive, but modifying just a few and then letting them reproduce naturally is a different story. In terms of offspring numbers, not many Pokemon can match Magikarp.

However, even the Pokemon created by him do not have the same abilities as he does; they cannot sense Plates. Hence, Magikarp can only search for similar objects in the deep sea.

This is an experiment. If those Magikarp can truly bring back valuable information, he will consider more complex creatures, like competing with Morgans by creating brand-new News Birds.

In his mind, a small notebook filled up with new plans, but today’s small action of his caused a significant change in the ocean.

As the eggs of those Magikarp, or rather, unique eggs drifted with the seawater, this new race of Magikarp began to appear over the sea.

And those few enormous Magikarp act as his modified subjects, always swimming around the waters near Wano Kuni.

He needs a large-scale underwater exploration team. In fact, using a smarter species would be better, like the Fishman Race, but the Fishman Race’s situation is too awkward.

In a world full of water, possessing exceptional talents, and holding Fishman Island 10,000 meters deep, yet they play their cards poorly. If Fishmen were truly to work for him, Hundred Beasts would have to rescue employees every day.

If the Fishman Race doesn’t find a way to change themselves, no one’s help will be lasting. The Fishman Race isn’t devoid of strong individuals, but none of these people are willing to stay in the Dragon Palace Kingdom.

Even Jinbe is affiliated with other pirate crews. Sun Pirates-Whitebeard-BIG MOM-Straw Hat, except for the initial Sun Pirates, the others have little to do with Fishman Island.

Currently, Asie also cannot produce a third radar. In that case, rather than focusing on millions of Fishmen, creating more Magikarp would be better, as their nature isn’t much different, and Magikarp are more obedient.

The abilities granted to humans cannot evolve by themselves, but this thorough transformation has turned them into the form of Magikarp both inside and out, and they can evolve through training.

Arceus wished to see whether, without his assistance, any naturally born ferocious beings could emerge, to see how far the potential of these Magikarp can reach.

Magikarp are indeed weak, but if swarms of Gyarados appear, ordinary Sea Beasts would have to avoid them.

Although these Magikarp might be preyed upon during their growth, this is also part of the natural order.

Arceus cares about the first generation he created; the naturally born second generation and subsequent descendants have a different emotional significance compared to the first generation.

Their descendants might revert to ordinary-sized Magikarp since not all Magikarp can grow so large; however, the original ones are all super-sized Magikarp, with the physical strength and constitution of local Magikarp, and the scale-and-bone hardness of Magikarp. Getting hit by them would be unpleasant.

Seeing Arceus doing peculiar things in the sea, Kaidou felt a little curious.

”What did you do?”

”Just a little experiment. We should know the results in about two years.” Even if Magikarp reproduces quickly, it takes at least a year for them to spread, plus the time they wander and return. Two years is a reasonable estimate.

At this time, their ship also arrived at the base of a massive waterfall. Facing the slightly upward-pointing compass and the waterfall ahead, most people on the ship were awe-struck.

...

”The old hag has arrived.” Kaidou noticed a nearby ship. Kurozumi Higurashi also saw Kaidou, but for some reason, she felt the expression on Kaidou’s face was somewhat dangerous. Compared to the earlier Kaidou, his mood seemed to have greatly changed.

”Nyo-yo-yo, Kaidou, you’ve finally arrived. Lord Orochi has been awaiting you for a long time.”

”Cut the crap, lead the way. Our people have long been impatient along the way.”

”This way.”

Although Kaidou’s attitude was very poor, she merely thought of him as moody, which was similar to the outside world’s rumors. They simply wanted to utilize Kaidou’s strength to suppress internal rebellious forces, and what Kaidou intends to do is not of much concern to them.

According to her plan, it would be best if Kaidou and Kozuki Oden fought to mutual exhaustion; that would be the ideal outcome, or at least Kaidou must win.

Kurozumi Orochi’s impression of Kozuki Oden was still frozen at the stage where he was a ”madman,” with neither sacrifice nor bondage able to stop his actions. If Kozuki Oden knew of his deeds...

The thought of Kozuki Oden charging at him with twin swords like a lunatic made him shudder uncontrollably, unable to be calmed even in hot water.

Under Kurozumi Higurashi’s guidance, the massive waterfall parted from the middle, revealing a hidden cavern beneath.

There are two paths to enter Wano Kuni: one is to have giant koi fish propel the ship up the outer waterfall, which is extremely risky. Though not as dangerous as riding the Sky-reaching Sea Flow to Sky Island, it is a challenge for the crew.

The other path is to enter the hidden cavern beneath the waterfall, which connects to Wano Kuni’s Inner Sea. Once inside, you can reach Wano Kuni’s Inner Sea via the elevator, referred to as the Hidden Port by Wano Kuni.

Since Orochi has become the acting General, he dispatched his men to take over the Hidden Port. These individuals were secretly recruited by him over the years, as others would not willingly follow his commands.

Now, the Hidden Port is manned by Kurozumi Orochi’s people, and he could achieve this because, at this moment, the other Daimyo of Wano Kuni are attending a funeral, that of Kozuki Sukiyaki.

The real Kozuki Sukiyaki was imprisoned in a secret room all along. Previously, it was Kurozumi Higurashi posing as the gravely ill Sukiyaki, and not long ago, they even staged a fake death, making the people of Wano Kuni genuinely believe Sukiyaki was dead.

”This is the only stable route into Wano Kuni. As long as we protect here, no amount of troops can breach Wano Kuni, unless they can all fly.”

Kaidou did not respond to Kurozumi Higurashi but instead asked King on his own.

”King, how long will it take you to deal with these people?”

”Three minutes will be enough, Brother Kaidou.”

”Mwahahaha, that’s too slow, King! If it were left to me, one minute would be sufficient. In this environment, a single Plague Bomb would suffice.”

When entering Wano Kuni, Queen was also on the same ship. Hearing King’s response, he started boasting.

And King admitted that when it comes to clearing small fry, Queen indeed has a greater advantage, but that doesn’t mean he would praise Queen.

”For once, you’re not dragging us down, you deadweight!”

”Who are you calling a deadweight, you interrogation-loving pervert!”

Kaidou paid no mind to their bickering, but Kurozumi Higurashi’s expression wasn’t pleasant. Saying such things in front of her, what exactly was Kaidou trying to imply?
