Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

“This time… another gathering?”

Looking at this invitation, I was even somewhat surprised.

April’s father’s status in the Hawthorne Family was not low; he even represented one of the lineage leaders of the Hawthorne Family.

In the family meetings where important decisions were made, he was a man who could sit in a representative seat.

However, following many muddle-headed decisions made by several people during these days, many voices of disagreement had appeared within the Hawthorne Family.

April’s father was one of the highly controversial figures among them.

But hindered by his past methods, many people still refrained from making any rash moves.

Internal discord is often one of the signs that a family is falling into turmoil.

The head of the Hawthorne Family was also having a massive headache over this, yet he didn’t have many solutions.

He could feel himself becoming dull.

To this end, his private doctor also monitored his physical condition at all times, but everything was normal except for some minor ailments; nothing had happened to him.

And the transcendent items in his hands showed no movement at all, so he wasn’t under a curse either.

For families following wizards, they were very clear about the wizards’ methods.

Bizarre means like toxins and curses emerged one after another, but wizards loved the method of cursing the most.

And this gathering was organized by a Wizard Tower Keeper of the Wizard Academy, representing the will of a great wizard, to gather and discuss matters.

Furthermore, the invitees were not just families following the wizards, but other families would also come along!

Because the main purpose of this gathering was for the preliminary convergence of that [Transcendent Knowledge] fragment.

Any family holding a fragment needed to be present to express the family’s will.

And the Hawthorne Family originally held the Frozen World, but… now it was gone.

Regarding the Frozen World fragment, the Hawthorne Family had always viewed it as a hot potato.

Since the last gathering proposed winning over some of the families near the Witch Academy, they had actively participated in this matter.

Coupled with the fact that one of their children had entered the Witch Academy, in order to arrange a layout and also to utilize the last sliver of value that child had within the Transcendent Academy, they hastily executed the plan to kill Tan Han.

Once Tan Han was killed, that largest fragment of [Transcendent Knowledge] she held would be considered ownerless.

When the time came, the Wand of Absolute Cold and the Frozen World held by April would change hands.

Then, regardless of whose hands they fell into, they wouldn’t be stronger than when they were in Tan Han’s hands.

After all, their targeting of Tan Han was naturally because they had used every method to no avail, which was why they used such low-down means—after all, this was a plan involving a human life.

In the end, if a liquidation occurred, a group of people would be implicated.

After all, one holiday ago, it was also because they used this method to target that teaching assistant named Yang Yuehan, yet it led to too many people being implicated.

Fortunately… ultimately, the Witch Academy’s fury was borne entirely by the Transcendent Academies.

Their family, however, escaped the disaster, though they ultimately lost a large number of the teaching assistants they had supported at the school.

It was precisely because of the Witch Academy’s actions that the families represented by other Transcendent Academies took this opportunity to win over the families surrounding the Witch Academy.

Subsequently, one plan after another was born.

After easing for a holiday, many people began to forget the pain and prepared to act again.

But no one expected that the core of the plan, April, would actually fail!

Not only did the assassination fail, she hadn’t even been able to beat the opponent!

For a moment, this nearly turned the Hawthorne Family into a laughingstock.

However, the only saving grace was that April did not reveal her intention to assassinate Tan Han, preventing the situation from continuing to escalate.

Back then, April had been accidentally kidnapped to the Witch Academy.

The family also supported April’s development there, becoming a nail driven into the Witch Academy by the Hawthorne Family.

But no one expected that at this final critical moment, April would drop the ball so badly!

This was one of the reasons the family was so unfavorable toward April; she had brought shame to the family.

And for this gathering, their Hawthorne Family also needed to go.

They needed to take responsibility for this matter, after all, they had also lost the Frozen World.

Although they guessed the Frozen World was still within the Witch Academy, no one admitted who exactly had taken it.

And this gathering likewise represented that their plan was entering the next stage.

The fragments of [Transcendent Knowledge] were basically gathered; currently, they were only missing a single Heart of Cold Tide.

However, that Heart of Cold Tide whose intelligence was lost had been “stolen,” so it must be in someone’s hands, waiting to demand a high price at the final moment.

In the end, it was just a matter of interests.

What they needed to do was piece together the complete [Transcendent Knowledge].

The reason they needed to do this wasn’t that they thought it was fun, nor was it that they thought they could master transcendent power using [Transcendent Knowledge].

They were merely following the will of the respective academies behind them.

They were being made to collect these fragments of [Transcendent Knowledge].

The relationship between families and academies wasn’t as distant as that of the Witch Academy in every case.

The Witch Academy didn’t give a damn about those families, but other Transcendent Academies would respond to the families’ voices to a certain extent, even providing protection, as long as they were willing to work hard for the academy.

As for what needed to be done with these collected fragments now, many people in the families were actually not clear.

“It seems the family people truly know very little… they don’t even know why they are collecting these fragments.”

Big Sis Bai and I discussed this problem together.

“Mhm. And according to what they said, there seem to be players among those invited this time. Do you think… ultimately this [Transcendent Knowledge] will be given to those players?”

Big Sis Bai also shared her conjecture.

“Ha, how could that be pos…… wait!”

I was just about to retort when I suddenly thought of a possibility.

The Transcendent Academies and the players might have established a connection.

This was something I learned from Academy Head Mei.

Currently, some minor problems have appeared on the Game World’s side, and it can basically be confirmed that these Transcendent Academies are behind it.

Perhaps, there’s a high probability the Wizard Academy is the mastermind.

If the players knew the truth yet still had designs on this [Transcendent Knowledge], then it meant those Transcendent Academies also supported the players in obtaining this [Transcendent Knowledge].

Coupled with the intelligence obtained by my player avatar……

“It seems… it’s not impossible! By the way, Big Sis Bai, do you know the situation over at the Game World right now?”

I asked curiously.

“The situation over at the Game World?”

Big Sis Bai was also a bit stunned when I asked this.

“Although I haven’t participated in this matter, I’ve chatted about this topic in gossip with other sisters. Currently, I only know a general outline—that is, the Game World’s Void coordinates were leaked, and groups from outside the Main World have invaded that world. Furthermore… they have also obscured that world’s real-time coordinates.”

“Eh?! Big Sis Bai, can you learn that much from your usual gossip?”

I was somewhat shocked.

A summary in just a single short sentence was nearly the same as the content Academy Head Mei had told me!

“That’s just how it is between witches we chat about everything. Once the intelligence is summarized, the knowledge becomes more comprehensive.”

Big Sis Bai said very casually.

“But does this have any connection to the problem mentioned just now?”

“There definitely is. Those people who established communication with the Game World must all be related to the Transcendent Academies on the Main World! Perhaps they want to use this [Transcendent Knowledge] of the Main World to exchange for what they want from that world.”

“Exchange for what they want? Then they could just snatch… oh I understand. The Game World belongs to the Witch Academy in name, so they don’t dare to snatch it openly, but they can use another way to exchange for what the other party gives voluntarily.”

“Pretty much… but these are all just our guesses. How about… we go directly to Academy Head Mei to ask about the situation? I don’t want to keep guessing like this…”

“Go trouble the Academy Head now? But these people here……”

“The place they are going is obscured by that Grand Sorcery of the False World Space. If one enters through abnormal means, they will definitely be discovered. So I plan to have my player avatar go and see if it can sneak in. After all, they also welcome player representatives to go over.”

I briefly explained the reason.

The family people acted very cautiously.

This kind of large-scale secret meeting even used the Grand Sorcery of the False World Space to prevent information from leaking from the Earth Vein information level.

Sure enough, the Wizard Academy must be the mastermind behind all this!

“Is that so? Alright. Since you’re going to look for the Academy Head, then I’ll go with you.”

“Hehe I knew Big Sis Bai was the best… I hope Academy Head Mei won’t be angry with me for coming to her over such trivial matters…”

In the past, I would make various guesses about many things, regardless of right or wrong, because I felt that a person at my level didn’t seem qualified to obtain the truth.

Therefore, I always passively waited for the Academy Head to tell me those reasons.

But the current me was different.

The change in status was likewise changing my cognition, letting me know that if I wanted to know the truth, Academy Head Mei would not refuse to tell me.

Actually… from the current perspective, if the past me had been bold enough to ask… I think Academy Head Mei might have been frank with me too.

No specific reason, just intuition.

“Don’t worry how could Academy Head Mei be angry with you over such things, Xiao Han?”

Big Sis Bai comforted from the side.

“You probably don’t know your own value and your own gold content even now, do you? Academy Head Mei wishes she could enshrine you right now, you know?”

“It’s not that exaggerated, is it?”

“It is that exaggerated otherwise, that time you were assassinated, why did the Academy Head make such a big fuss?”

“Eh? Wasn’t that because she wanted to pit those Transcendent Academies?”

“Really? But in the end, the Academy Head even gave that most precious world fragment to you, and even helped refine it into a Dungeon World.”

“Mhm…… it seems so…”

“So feel free to go and ask. I’m with you. If the Academy Head feels the matters are suitable for you to know, she will tell you without hesitation.”

After all, she had witnessed the fact that Academy Head Mei was a big mouth, but Bai Yu did not say this sentence out loud.

Without taking much time, after leaving many teleportation markers here at Mo Nuo Peng City, we directly returned to the Witch Academy.

After simply contacting the Academy Head to say we had something to ask her, we arrived at the Academy Head’s office.

However, after arriving at the Academy Head’s office, I found that many witches had gathered here.

And they were all busy with one thing here, which was the Destiny Gazing Technique alchemical instrument that had been established here long ago.

Looking at them, they seemed to be conducting a large-scale modification and restructuring here!

“Oho look who’s here it truly is a case of the person who can solve the problem arriving just when a problem is encountered.”

Those witch sisters busy with the Destiny Gazing instrument instantly beamed with smiles after seeing me arrive here.

“Alright, you lot! Really, Xiao Han has business with me. What are you all getting excited for?”

At this time, Academy Head Mei walked over and spoke to them.

“Well everyone says this Destiny Gazing Technique was Xiao Han’s handiwork. If Xiao Han joins in, our progress might be even faster.”

“Uh… Big Sis Mei… what is the situation here?”

Seeing Academy Head Mei walk over, for a moment I wasn’t quite clear about what exactly was happening here.

Surely the Destiny Gazing instrument didn’t break?

“Oh we are conducting an iterative upgrade of the Destiny Gazing instrument here. We might have encountered some minor trouble recently. If they can’t get it right again, I’m going to ask them to leave. Being here in my office, my work is often disturbed.”

Academy Head Mei also quickly explained to me.

“Iterative upgrade?”

Although the Destiny Gazing Technique was a product of my sudden impulse, my understanding of it was also very thorough.

Regarding this Destiny Gazing instrument, I had participated in the debugging back then, but it had gradually faded from my sight afterward.

But the Academy Head and the others could often play with it in new ways, such as back when they used this instrument as a world positioning observation instrument for world restoration techniques and so on.

“Have you discovered some new use for it again?”

“It can barely be considered so, but this matter is also a bit troublesome to explain.”

Academy Head Mei nodded as she admitted this statement.

“Let’s talk about your business first. You contacted me just now saying you had some questions to ask me. Exactly what is it that made Xiao Han personally run over to ask me?”

“Mhm… actually it’s not some very big problem, it’s just… regarding the Game World.”

“The Game World…”

Hearing this topic, Academy Head Mei also frowned.

“Xiao Han, as expected, you are still very curious about this matter… alright……”

Subsequently, Academy Head Mei’s gaze turned toward the Bai Yu on the side.

She didn’t say anything more, but her meaning was also very obvious: telling the truth was fine, but don’t let anything happen to Xiao Han.

“Since Xiao Han wants to know this, then ask. If I know, I will tell you.”

“Mhm, then I’ll ask.”

Hearing that Academy Head Mei had agreed just like that, I directly and boldly began to inquire.

“Big Sis Mei, you said previously that the Game World’s Void coordinates were hidden. So, have they been found now?”

“Not yet.”

Academy Head Mei responded very simply.

“Then the mastermind of this matter should be the Wizard Academy, right? Or did all the other Transcendent Academies get involved?”

“They all participated. The Wizard Academy took the lead.”

Regarding this point, Academy Head Mei was quite certain.

“Then I’ll ask another question. That Grand Spellbook originally called the Great Snow Throne Spell shattered into [Transcendent Knowledge] fragments. Are they currently using these fragments to conduct some kind of transaction with the people of the Game World?”

After I finished asking this question, the Academy Head’s office suddenly fell silent.

“Xiao Han, where did you learn that the predecessor of that [Transcendent Knowledge] was the Great Snow Throne Spell?”

At this time, Academy Head Mei’s voice sounded again, but this time the response was not an answer to the question, but another question.
