Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Following Big Sis Bai’s suggestion, I constantly sought out new things, using my heart to experience the feelings they brought me.

I expressed my will with the most direct answers—did I like it or not?

It was not about whether it was bitter or sweet, or whether it tasted good or bad…

This was truly important for one’s life.

Chasing after curious things and loving eccentric subjects—this kind of personality seemed to become very normal in Big Sis Bai’s words.

Such highly individualistic thoughts were, in fact, not rare.

Just as there were always people in the world who liked to follow the crowd, there were naturally those who liked to go against the direction everyone else was walking.

“Ah it seems to be starting to get boring…”

My left hand held various milk teas, while my right hand carried all sorts of snacks.

What I liked to drink most was indeed the refreshing, slightly sweet type with a hint of bitterness—the kind where the bitterness accompanied the sweetness as it faded, followed by a lingering sweet aftertaste.

And the food I liked most was when a crispy outer crust gradually became soft after being moistened; taking a bite, there was a final bit of crispy stubbornness before it was chewed along with the wrapped ingredients…

I discovered that it wasn’t that I liked exceptionally bitter things, but that I occasionally needed a hint of sweetness.

It wasn’t that I really liked that crispy texture, but that I occasionally needed some moisture and waited for time to pass.

I originally thought this happiness and novelty could last for a long time, but I found that my nature seemed to be a three-minute heat as well.

The only thing I could do for a long time without getting bored seemed to be immersing myself in my own world.

“I probably know what this is,” Big Sis Bai suddenly spoke up.

“Eh? What is it?”

“An instinct originating from the body, or perhaps a habit you’ve developed yourself. Long-term internal self-consumption makes you instinctively need to reduce passion and excitement to recover energy. When your passion reaches a certain threshold…”

“It instinctively protects itself…”

I picked up the thread.

“Yes. The human body is truly a miraculous existence. Cognitive instincts shape various behavioral instincts of a person. Just as you instinctively feel sleepy when it gets dark, yet you know very well, Xiao Han, that your physical quality no longer requires that much rest.”

“Then what should I do…”

Being told this by Big Sis Bai, I felt a moment of helplessness.

Even though I had self-awakened body cultivation, I still could not control this indescribable instinct.

“Then let me ask you: even if they are very tired at night, many people still choose to stay up late against their instincts while holding their phones. Why is that?”

“Because… there is a greater temptation?”

“Right. Xiao Han, you currently lack a means of stimulation to let you throw yourself into something wholeheartedly. Do more things that go against your own instincts. Tell yourself that your subjective consciousness is the master of this subject that is you.”

Perhaps for ordinary people, the spirit driving the flesh was nothing more than a pipe dream.

However, for an individual who had stepped onto the transcendent path and achieved the awakening of their own spirit, driving the self was something that could possibly be achieved.

“So… what should I do?”

I tried my best to open my heart, as if expecting Big Sis Bai to empathize with me and solve the confusion before me.

“Xiao Han, don’t be blinded by the freedom before your eyes. Blindly pursuing the ability to do anything actually results in being able to do nothing. Therefore… we should look at the present.”

Big Sis Bai spoke to guide me.

She didn’t say this needed to rely on myself; instead, she patiently let me know how to think when I was lost.

“What else do you have left unfinished?”

“The Self-generating Magic Power experiments?”

“But you’ve already announced the start of the break, so these days belong to your private time. Put down those responsibilities and touch the people and things closely related to you… Who is the first person you think of?”

Big Sis Bai guided me meticulously.

“Big Sis Bai… it’s Big Sis Bai!”

I said firmly.

“Good then.”

Big Sis Bai hugged me from behind.

“Now I am accompanying you. So, what object did you think of? Don’t be limited by your own thoughts. It could be as small as the four-leaf clover hair accessory on your head, or the clothes you are wearing… or as large as……”

“Mhm… what I care about… the Book in the Casket?”

“Really? Your tone just now wasn’t as firm as when you called me Big Sis Bai. If the words you say carry the tone of a rhetorical question, then put it down. It isn’t important in the depths of your heart. it has just appeared before you all the time and occupied more of your sight, that’s all.”

“Then… clothes? There are so many clothes at home, many of which I haven’t worn for you to see, Big Sis Bai…”

“Cough… mhm… that is indeed a very tempting choice. But you know very well that if you put them on, I won’t be able to help myself. Tonight isn’t our scheduled night.”

Big Sis Bai coughed lightly to hide her loss of composure.

In the end, she still painfully rejected this very tempting suggestion.

However, inadvertently, Bai Yu had already scheduled what Xiao Han was to wear for the next few days.

“Right! The Dungeon World! I’ve already gotten my hands on that Dungeon World, and… and it was personally delivered by Academy Head Serina! But I kept it aside and forgot to share it with you, Big Sis Bai!”

“Is that so? That fast?”

“Yeah, there was a little interlude, but I don’t really want to talk about it.”

After all, it was related to that Anti-Witch.

That Anti-Witch didn’t seem like the type Big Sis Bai could afford to offend, so I still didn’t want to trouble her.

“If you don’t want to say it, then you don’t have to.”

“Come on, let’s go home. The Dungeon World can’t be put into storage equipment, so I carried it on me after I got it, and then I just left it on the study desk when I got home.”

“Eh? You put such an important thing in the study?!”

“Because it’s too precious! So carrying it on me wouldn’t be too flashy?”

I tried my best to argue.

After all, Big Sis Bai’s villa was the safest place!

Ever since that time when the Anti-Witch entered the villa uninvited, Big Sis Bai had reinforced the space around the villa.

Although it wasn’t a high-level spatial reinforcement that could prevent anyone from entering uninvited, if someone did enter, it would definitely trigger Big Sis Bai’s warning.

Only when I or Big Sis Bai returned would that mechanism not be triggered.

……

We returned to the villa’s study.

I pushed open the door.

Several rows of bookshelves were placed here.

Many of these books were collected by Big Sis Bai; of course, some of them were her own recorded insights.

After all, Big Sis Bai touched upon everything—physical arts, spells, runology, ritual architecture, alchemy, medicine-making, elixirs, and even True Editing technology, and so on.

Although it couldn’t be said that she was proficient in every single one yet, Big Sis Bai, as a witch, had a long lifespan.

Thus, she wasn’t in a hurry for these techniques to reach completion quickly.

After all, these techniques relied more on accumulation.

There were also some notes here that I had contributed myself.

Of course, these notes were not transcribed by me from the Great Tree of Knowledge.

Instead, they were inspirations I recorded from my own insights gained after reviewing the knowledge within the Great Tree of Knowledge.

However, compared to Big Sis Bai, they were much fewer.

After all, I usually spent more time in other places, such as the laboratory or the Expansion Realm.

“This is the one.”

I went to the desk and took down the hanging pendant.

“So it’s this I thought it was just a small trinket you picked up from somewhere, Xiao Han.”

Big Sis Bai leaned in and spoke with some emotion.

These days, she had often been in the study or at the physical arts hall discussing innovative issues regarding body-transformation spells with those sisters.

She had naturally noticed this small object, but she hadn’t played with it.

“How could there be such an exquisite little thing on those street stalls. This is the Dungeon World refined from a world fragment by Academy Head Serina Palitzer, the great Star Alchemist! Although I haven’t entered it once since I got it… I don’t know what it’s like inside.”

“Yes, yes, yes the origin is quite impressive.”

Big Sis Bai also cooperatively played along.

“I heard you mention it before. Didn’t you say it was full of massive forests inside?”

“Mhm, though saying that is indeed the case… I don’t know what it’s like now.”

I looked at the bead in the center.

This was the world fragment refined by Star Alchemy.

It was as if a massive heaven and earth were incorporated into this single fingertip.

It was truly miraculous.

“Does Xiao Han know how to use it?”

“I don’t… but it shouldn’t be so easily broken, should it? Otherwise, it wouldn’t have been made into an accessory to be carried.”

Moreover, I didn’t know if this accessory could be brought into the Dungeon World recursively… but thinking about it, that probably wouldn’t be possible…

I tentatively used my mental power to touch it.

Very quickly, I felt the information transmitted by the Dungeon World.

It was a kind of identity authentication—a sense of binding information!

“So convenient?”

I was a bit surprised by the identity-binding mechanism and the information synchronization function of this object.

It was somewhat like the information recorded inside a spellbook.

With a single scan, I roughly knew what to do.

“You’ve figured it out so quickly?”

“It really is fast. It looks like the technique for refining a Dungeon World is a fairly mature technology.”

After I made that exclamation, I tied it to the side of my waist.

“Let me see how to bring someone inside.”

After learning about it for a bit, I knew how to operate it.

“Come Big Sis Bai, take my hand.”

“Okay.”

Big Sis Bai nodded and reached out her hand, grasping mine.

She even instinctively squeezed it when she held it.

In the next moment, our forms completely vanished from this study.

Nothing was left behind, including the “true body” of the Dungeon World that had been made into an accessory.

Before I even opened my eyes, I felt the sensation of the floor beneath my feet turn into slightly soft soil and tender grass.

Tender leaves by my feet lightly brushed across the surface of my shoes, bringing up a faint, barely detectable dewdrop.

“Is this the Dungeon World?!”

“Mhm, it’s indeed here. It feels… a bit different!”

I also opened my eyes and felt the breeze brushing across my face.

Compared to the last time I entered, this time, the feeling this Dungeon World gave me was more like a world!

There was less of a sense of incongruity here.

“What’s different?”

“Mhm… a more friendly feeling. However, there is still a sense of deathly silence.”

“After all, this isn’t a truly perfect, self-circulating world.”

Big Sis Bai comforted me.

At this moment, I suddenly discovered that the light shimmering on one side of my body caught my eye.

That pendant representing the Dungeon World was still at my waist!

However, the bead at this moment emitted a soft light, appearing like a massive ball of light.

“What’s wrong?”

“This… how did it follow me in here too?”

I untied the pendant accessory and held it up before Big Sis Bai, somewhat unable to believe it.

This… the nesting was successful?

A world… contains a world?

“This… does seem interesting. I understand what you’re thinking. You can’t figure out why the world fragment itself has come inside the world fragment?”

Big Sis Bai asked with a smile.

“Do you know why, Big Sis Bai?”

“I don’t know. But I know that as long as something has happened, there must be a principle behind it.”

“True. These words of yours reminded me, Big Sis Bai.”

At this moment, I took a serious look at this pendant.

As expected, my understanding of concepts like space and the world was still too meager.

“Xiao Han, have you considered that what you’re holding might not have been the world fragment itself from the beginning, but something like a key, or perhaps the core or origin of the world fragment? After all, a world fragment, even if it is a fragment, is still a part of a world…”

“But the sealing sorcery used by the wizards sealed this world fragment…”

“But what you said was that the Academy Head used Star Alchemy to refine it. Don’t fall into a thinking trap.”

“It seems… indeed?”

I was a bit puzzled, but looking at the bead emitting soft light in my hand, perhaps it was indeed a kind of key…… no!

It would be better to describe it as “Authority”!

When I held it in my hand, I felt a kind of “Authority” that I could manipulate at will.

For example, the day and night within this Dungeon World.

This wasn’t a control over the flow of time, but rather the simulated lighting and the positions of the concepts of the sun and moon.

And these authorities also derived the manipulation of temperature within the Dungeon World.

I could even simply control the atmospheric flow within this world fragment.

Unfortunately, this was just a simulated world cycle; it still couldn’t achieve a true ecological cycle.

Everything here was very fragile.

Including the earth veins here.

Therefore, it was best not to destroy this entire forest on a large scale.

I pulled Big Sis Bai’s hand, and my body gradually began to float.

This was still part of the “Authority Rules” of the Dungeon World—gravity simulation.

Of course, there was also the authority for spatial passage.

As long as the authority was set, the price and consumption for spatial teleportation and tearing open space here would become very small.

Conversely, spatial movement would become very difficult.

However, if possible, it was best not to use these functions.

Because these behaviors that went against regularities were achieved by “tossing around” the Dungeon World.

It was already a world fragment; further tossing it around would be a form of consumption for this world.

Although… Dungeon Worlds and world fragments were inherently a type of consumable.

Once the world’s earth veins were exhausted, then it would not be much different from an ordinary storage space.

After sharing a brief experience of these authorities with Big Sis Bai, I also began to stroll through this Dungeon World with her.

It was truly large—larger than we had expected.

High mountains, flowing water, lakes, forests……

The natural aura here was very thick.

Finally, Big Sis Bai and I arrived at the island in the middle of the largest lake in this world.

“Big Sis Bai… do you still remember those thoughts you mentioned before? Finding a place with a very beautiful environment to live, to live in seclusion……”

“Mhm? Why did you suddenly mention that?”

“How about we build a little house belonging to us here? A peaceful little house on a forest lake island. It sounds very cozy, doesn’t it? How about we make it our secret base?”

Hearing my words, Big Sis Bai also froze slightly.

Then, she revealed a smile and readily agreed.

“Sure.”
