Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

“Quick! Abandon this operation, that fellow Yang Yuehan has truly stepped in to intervene in this matter!”

“But... just abandon it like this? What about afterward? What about April?”

“You’re still worried about her? She can barely save herself, don’t you understand? That fellow Yang Yuehan even called her mentor over! Do you really want to know what else she can pull off next?”

Accompanied by bursts of helpless conversation, the people with ulterior motives in the spectator area had already silently left.

Previously, they were still thinking, “She’s just a Teaching Assistant, what can she interfere with?”

Victory or defeat was not important for the two on the field.

If a huge scene were truly made in the arena, even Yang Yuehan would be cursed to death; at least they had the confidence to create a fierce battle of words on the Academy Network with the help of the opponent’s support group, and the beneficiaries would still be them.

But no one expected that the other party didn’t care about victory or defeat on the field either!

After this match, no one would care about the outcome; they would only remember a Teaching Assistant conducting an Unrestricted Competition with a lower-grade student, and then being hauled away by her own mentor and having her Teaching Assistant status removed.

Since the existing situation could no longer be controlled, there was no meaning in continuing to struggle in the mud with the opponent; it was better to simply withdraw and wait for the next opportunity.

This was their thought at this moment.

And on the match field.

After a series of collisions of methods and tactical probing, the consumption of both sides was nearly at the critical value.

April had already experienced almost all of Tan Han’s methods, and Tan Han was also familiar with April’s combat style coordinated with the Super Consumption Spellbook.

Although it was only her second time fighting a Teaching Assistant, from the level of it, the battles she previously had with senior students were actually close to the same level as a Teaching Assistant; those senior students and the Teaching Assistant were only one layer of status apart.

“Tan Han, don’t you still have that final move! Why haven’t you acted yet! If you don’t act now... there won’t be another chance!”

“Don’t you similarly have other means? The one who can’t hold back first is you, right?”

Tan Han shot back without being weak in the slightest.

Although from the current situation, one couldn’t say who had the advantage, verbal sparring was still very necessary.

After all, this was an Unrestricted Competition.

“Then... witness this method of mine!”

After a round of verbal confrontation, for no apparent reason, April chose to take the initiative to attack and was the first to reveal a trump card.

However, April’s trump card was not a second Super Consumption Spellbook, nor was it some powerful alchemical item.

She merely took out a creation resembling an ice crystal, with a texture inside as if ice-blue runes were frozen within.

“Ice-type? Are you sure you want to use this to clash head-on with my Wand of Absolute Cold?”

Tan Han felt a slight relief after seeing the opponent’s “trump card”; her Wand of Absolute Cold was a fragment of [Transcendent Knowledge], and there was already nothing that could be compared to it.

“Is that so? Then let me teach you another lesson... what combat values is always more than just the power of the mastered methods!”

April suddenly activated the crystal in her hand, and an invisible force enveloped the entire match field.

It was as if an extremely cold chill was about to freeze the entire space; the humming of ice freezing and the ear-piercing creaking emitted between the expansion of ice could be heard by the ears.

Such a bizarre method caused Tan Han’s spellcasting hand to subconsciously slow down by half a beat, but the body’s instinct told Tan Han first that all of this was just an illusion.

There was no freezing; she was still moving freely, and she was still the master in control of this world of ice and snow.

“You won’t even dodge this!”

Tan Han regrouped, the spell in her hand already formed, but her opponent seemed to be just staring blankly in place, only her gaze still meeting hers.

Victory?

The opponent didn’t defend, and her ice spell was also about to completely pierce through her body.

Even if the opponent had undying nature, such an attack would shatter and freeze the opponent’s body in an instant.

Even if this couldn’t kill the opponent, the opponent wouldn’t be able to use the power of self-healing to resist the freezing of the ice!

Squelch!

Accompanied by this certain-victory ice spell piercing through the opponent’s body, Tan Han’s smile disappeared.

The opponent’s body ignored the spell’s attack, passing through like a ghost.

“How does it feel to be deceived by habitual perception?”

April also no longer wasted her advantage.

Ignoring the incoming ice spell, she quickly adjusted her position.

“Ice spell immunity? No... spatial spell?”

“Do you think I would tell you?”

“Spatial spell...”

Tan Han quickly made a judgment.

Because although she couldn’t feel the spatial influence, as far as her eyes could reach, she could see that the entire match field was covered by a frozen vision.

This situation had exceeded her understanding; perhaps this was an overlapping frozen space, or some other method...

“Even if my attacks can’t reach you, the moment you want to attack me will be your flaw!”

“So what? The initiative is still with me!”

April said disdainfully.

Although she was very surprised that the opponent had linked it to what kind of power this was so quickly and also knew the weakness where she could be attacked, the overwhelming situation had already formed.

The opponent would need to pay a greater price to attack her.

In fact, the initiative of even when the opponent could launch an attack was controlled by her!

And after Tan Han was shocked and accepted the reality, she wouldn’t just sit and wait for death like this.

Space... a power like space seemed very unsolvable, but that was a kind of self-panic caused by having no understanding of space.

Tan Han had seen descriptions regarding space; or rather, ever since she had the Seed of Great Knowledge, she very much liked to constantly supplement a lot of knowledge for use as a reserve.

Space... is a very fragile attribute.

Any kind of Transcendent energy can interfere with space as long as it reaches a certain energy level; even Transcendents can tear through space with their bare hands.

At least the description of the “material space” within the world in books was as such.

And did she have any means that could affect space?

Yes, naturally she did.

The Wand of Absolute Cold.

Back when this Wand of Absolute Cold was still that Crown of Absolute Zero, a chill could be revealed even when it was put into storage equipment.

This kind of Absolute Zero that exceeded material space and non-Transcendent physical laws seemed capable of interfering with space.

Therefore, Tan Han did not hesitate at all.

“Have you finally unsealed that final method on your magic wand? It seems you truly are at the end of your rope! What meaning does this have? You can’t hit me.”

“One only knows if they can hit after trying!”

Tan Han held the wand with both hands, as if treating it like a close-quarters weapon.

With the unsealing of Absolute Zero, Tan Han also had to add protective spells for herself.

After all, this move was a power that did not belong to her, so even she would not be spared from the aftershocks of this Absolute Zero.

Although the magic wand had a blind spot space designed for the holder during manufacturing, Absolute Zero in its activated state was far from something that a blind spot space could be immune to!

This power theoretically had no blind spots; the chill was everywhere.

Accompanied by Tan Han’s swinging, the space the wand head passed through seemed to bring about a ripple of shattering ice crystals.

The clear sound of ice blocks collapsing continuously blossomed on the match field.

Even April subconsciously dodged upon seeing Tan Han attack like this.

“You aren’t sure if you’ll get hurt either... right!”

Tan Han pointed out the opponent’s lack of confidence all at once.

“So what!”

April snorted coldly and used a summoning spell she wasn’t very good at right on the spot.

Subsequently, an earth golem molded from the earth gradually condensed.

“Want to test it on the spot? Then I’ll give you the chance!”

Tan Han went to meet this earth golem.

Its sluggish movements and the caster’s clumsy control were enough to show that April was not good at the combat coordination of summoning spells.

And accompanied by a strike of Absolute Zero, the earth golem (Magical Construct) was instantly frozen.

Accompanied by the sudden strike of the Wand of Absolute Cold, the earth golem transformed into shattering ice blocks and completely dissipated.

This freezing even took effect on the spell effect core of the summoned creature, which was enough to show the terror of this power.

“It looks like your methods are of no use anymore!”

Tan Han spoke excitedly.

The Wand of Absolute Cold could bridge this level of spatial spells and directly cause damage to the opponent!

This was the attitude Tan Han displayed for April to see.

However, Tan Han had discovered a deeper level of effect under that strike, but she didn’t show it.

Through what channel could the Wand of Absolute Cold attack an existence in another frozen space?

It was an attack caused by slashing through the boundary between material space and the frozen space; this attack was not purely energy damage bridging spatial levels.

Just now... that “physical attack” of her wand shattering the ice crystals of the summoned creature was enough to explain many things.

She could personally cross from the material space to reach the frozen space to cause damage to April!

This was a wonderful information gap, but... there was only one chance for a surprise attack.

Once the opponent realized this, she would become alert.

Furthermore, from the fact that the opponent needed to use a summoning spell she was unfamiliar with to test if she would receive damage, it was enough to show that the other party did not understand this method enough.

Therefore, Tan Han judged that this method was given to the other party by someone to specifically target her.

Precisely because the other party’s understanding of their own method was insufficient, Tan Han judged that this method of surprise attack would be effective.

And now... Tan Han needed to deepen the opponent’s inherent impression that “her own spells” couldn’t hurt her.

Didn’t she mention the deception of habitual perception just now?

Then let her feel the sensation of being deceived herself!

“Still coming?”

Seeing Tan Han release a spell toward her again, April still instinctively dodged.

If the opponent’s magic wand could directly damage her summoned creature within the frozen world, then it could damage her!

Therefore, she had to pull away.

The opponent tried a spell again... April judged that the opponent was trying to see if this lethality bridging space could be added to the spells.

But... was it possible?

Her understanding of spells was far deeper than Tan Han’s!

No augmented power could bridge space to take effect on spell effects.

Unless the power of the spell the opponent launched was itself a part of that magic wand, or the intensity of this attack reached a level that could break through space.

Otherwise, no matter how much it was augmented, it was still in the same space and couldn’t hurt her while she was in the frozen world.

So she also had to guard against the opponent throwing the magic wand as a means of attack... just for a little while, April had already made her own judgment and prevention.

In April’s view, the opponent’s overwhelming low-consumption spells still couldn’t hurt her under the augmentation of the magic wand.

This battle was still her home field!

For a time, the wind direction on the match field shifted.

Tan Han was being continuously suppressed, and the kind of method April mastered was simply unsolvable.

On the stand.

“Big Sis Chris, what kind of method is this?”

I pointed at that frozen space April was using below and inquired.

“I’m not too clear but seeing how unfamiliar April is with using it, it doesn’t look like her own thing no matter how you look at it.”

Big Sis Chris waved her hand and spoke helplessly, also indicating that it wasn’t her own thing.

“Is that so...”

I opened the Earth Vein Appraisal Spell to appraise that thing.

“How is it? Does Little Han have a result?”

Chris inquired expectantly from the side.

“There’s a result... it’s called Frozen World. This isn’t a spellbook, nor is it an alchemical item...”

I looked at that thing and the Destiny tainted upon it, so Destiny once again corroborated its identity, “Frozen World, that is its name... something similar to Absolute Zero, a fragment belonging to the same [Transcendent Knowledge].”

“Interesting, where did April get this thing?”

Chris looked at April on the field and muttered to herself with interest.

“Wizard Academy... she seems to have an intersection with the Wizard Academy... wait... her family is from the area radiated by the Wizard Academy? So... she was abducted to the Witch Academy?”

“Yeah, she was abducted to the Witch Academy. When choosing a Teaching Assistant, I originally thought she wasn’t from a family here at the Witch Academy and could let go and fly higher... but I didn’t expect she would still be trapped within her own family philosophy... sigh, what a pity...”

“......”

I didn’t pick up the conversation because this question was truly far too strange.

If the Frozen World in April’s hand was acquired from the Wizard Academy’s side... then why?

This was a [Transcendent Knowledge] fragment!

It was very precious, so why give it away?

And... this Transcendent characteristic of the “Frozen World,” I also saw the shadow of the Wizard Academy’s “Grand Sorcery of the False World Space” upon it.

I remembered that this Grand Sorcery was also rumored to be a byproduct after researching [Transcendent Knowledge]... it couldn’t be this fragment of the “Frozen World,” could it?

At this moment on the match field.

April’s crushing force had almost pushed Tan Han into a corner.

The kind of continuous switching between material space and the frozen space, and the advantage brought through this method, was constantly increasing.

And Tan Han could only use the lowest consumption Blizzard Spell to envelop the entire match field.

As long as the opponent appeared in the material space, she could immediately counterattack through the phenomenon of the blizzard being obstructed.

Although it caused some trouble for April, it was similarly insignificant.

“April! Do you think you’ve won just like this!”

At this moment, Tan Han was already unable to maintain her previous posture, and even shouting at this moment seemed somewhat difficult.

That roar symbolizing the final resistance seemed like nothing more than a futile struggle in April’s view.

“Are you unable to hold on anymore? Your spells have no effect on me!”

“Die!”

Tan Han took the Wand of Absolute Cold and seized the opportunity to close in again.

“Do you think I’ll give you a chance to get close?”

The Blink spell April had already charged up directly pulled the distance away.

And this was exactly the kind of opportunity Tan Han was waiting for.

The other party simply thought that “pulling the distance away equals safety.”

This was the equivalent concept Tan Han hoped April would think in her heart, and it would be the culprit that killed her.

“Damn it! How do you still have the power to Blink...”

Tan Han roared as if falling into madness because this strike had no effect, but no one noticed the ripple of shattering ice crystals pulled out by the swinging Wand of Absolute Cold.

And at this moment, Tan Han charged up her strongest spell once again.

“Extreme Cold Light!”

Terrifying Magic Power was injected into the spell.

The light beam of extreme cold convergence formed a dazzling light spot, enveloping Tan Han’s figure.

No one noticed that the blizzard currently enveloping the arena also passed through Tan Han’s body without any obstruction.

She had already reached the frozen world from the material space through the channel carved out by the Wand of Absolute Cold, and she did this... to offer the most lethal blow to that coward who only knew how to hide here!

In the next moment...

“Extreme Cold... Eruption!”

The energy light beam that had been charged for a long time suddenly erupted!

Augmented by the power of the Wand of Absolute Cold, it shattered the ice crystals within the frozen world and enveloped April at a speed she absolutely couldn’t escape from.

And April couldn’t use teleportation continuously in a short time; the outcome was already destined!

The Extreme Cold Light instantly enveloped April’s figure.

Leaving only a burst of terrifying ice crystal shattering sounds echoing above the arena.

At this moment, it was as if a pause button had been pressed on the match field.

And in the next moment, the entire arena cheered for the victory Tan Han was about to achieve!
