Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Witch Academy.

“Senior Yi Rui, sorry to disturb you at this time, but I feel like something is wrong with my physical condition. The changes in the Witchified Body Cultivation Method have somewhat exceeded my control…”

At this moment, Tan Han directly contacted Yi Rui via communication.

As soon as it connected, she got straight to the point to explain her situation.

Yi Rui also inquired about the situation immediately.

“Is it serious? Was there an accident? Or is it…”

“Oh no, it’s not that. It’s just that I have a very strange feeling, as if I’m about to succeed, yet I don’t know how to proceed. If I continue like this, I feel like all my previous efforts will go to waste.”

“That kind of feeling?”

Yi Rui was somewhat surprised.

She had also experienced this—that feeling when constructing the Self-generating Magic Power construction ritual within the body.

She had experienced this kind of failure more than once.

“Relax, this is a very common attempt at formation. Didn’t Xiao Han tell you about this? By the way, have you contacted Xiao Han?”

“I tried to contact her, but her Academy Network communication is offline. Xiao Han might be off-campus right now, or in some special space-isolated place… I might be able to reach her through the Great Seed of Knowledge contact channel, but…”

“Little Tan, the most important thing is your body! Why don’t you leave a message for Xiao Han? Maybe… Xiao Han is over-competing with us again… I’ll go take a look at the laboratory. Is it convenient for you to come over? Or should I go find you?”

“There’s nothing seriously wrong with my body; there’s just a problem with the progress of the Witchified Body Cultivation Method. I’ll go to the laboratory as well.”

Tan Han shook her head to indicate she was fine.

And she truly was fine.

Even if the worst-case scenario occurred, she could quickly save herself through the Magic Power Source stripping method.

This was a self-rescue technique one had to learn before practicing the Witchified Body Cultivation Method, though up until now, no one had used it even once.

After hanging up the phone, Tan Han sighed.

She was currently the primary experimental subject, the person undergoing the complete Witchified Body Cultivation Method experiment, simply because she was a Child of Destiny who could bring good luck.

But only she knew very well that she was just like an ordinary person, and the destiny talent bestowed upon her by this identity—that Spirit Eye that could see through destiny… couldn’t help much either.

After this experiment ended, she might be able to fulfill that promise. She once again took a business card out of her storage equipment.

Within the Spirit Eye vision, a strand of destiny thread was entangled with this business card.

The name on the business card was… Trixie Destiny.

The witch who called herself a Destiny Alchemist.

This witch had told her many truths and had also dissolved many of her prejudices regarding destiny.

The most important thing was simply not to compare.

Take Xiao Han, for example.

When the other party had the determination to sever the Earth Vein Chains, that person’s heart was already higher than the heavens; she was destined to soar in a higher place.

As for herself… in the words of the witch Trixie, she was merely performing resistance in the form of evasion.

True resistance should be like Xiao Han’s… perhaps the means were slightly green at the beginning, but from start to finish, she shimmered with a brilliance that destiny could not shackle.

“It’s been a while since I last saw Mentor Trixie…”

Tan Han muttered to herself.

Generally, when she wanted to see this mentor, the destiny on this business card would arrange a chance encounter within a time frame that would not exceed three days at the longest.

Perhaps this was the unique romance of a Destiny Alchemist.

However, she hadn’t seen this witch sister for this entire holiday.

Right now, she was merely someone still at a very low level, who could only rely on destiny to continuously climb upward.

She needed to seize every opportunity to make herself very strong.

“Self-generating Magic Power… is this my opportunity after school starts? Destiny, give me a bit more strength…”

After finishing this self-muttering, Tan Han seemed to be full of vitality once again.

Then, she bid farewell to the Store Manager and the others beside her before rushing toward the laboratory.

***

Dungeon World.

On the central lake island.

Two days had passed.

Under the joint efforts of Big Sis Bai and me, the prototype of a small wooden house was roughly taking shape.

After some discussion, we decided that the small wooden house built here would not be very large.

Moreover, considering not to damage the spatial stability of the Dungeon World too much, we didn’t intend to use spatial extension-type rune techniques to increase the indoor space.

Rather than a house, this was more like a large, integrated dwelling.

There weren’t many partitions to divide the indoor space; only different indoor furniture distinguished different functional areas.

The style would be more retro, and the design focused more on warmth, comfort, and functional integration.

As for the transcendent-related things inside, such as elixir cauldrons and experimental tables, they were more like decorations and atmosphere-enhancing touches.

After all, if one truly wanted to experiment, who would do it here?

Picking any laboratory would be more comfortable than using this place, wouldn’t it?

However, these alchemical apparatuses weren’t completely useless.

For example, trying to personally concoct a bottle of pink elixir here should be possible.

The definition of this place was more like a spot to spend a holiday and enjoy with Big Sis Bai.

Using an entire Dungeon World to build a natural-style uninhabited holiday island—perhaps only a fellow like me would be so extravagant and wasteful…

But no amount of problems could withstand a single “I like it.”

“Mhm… there are still many things I haven’t bought. The retro weathered decorative materials for the exterior are also almost used up. Also wood—as for wood… let’s choose this one for another layer; a nine-in-one that is anti-corrosion, moisture-proof, moth-proof, and so on, which also has a natural exotic fragrance…”

“Those are part of traditional enchantment crafts. Let’s choose materials with better wood grain, and we’ll use runes to augment them ourselves later. The quality will be better that way.”

Big Sis Bai suggested.

“True.”

After all, with our runology foundation, the quality would definitely be much better than those industrial mass-produced enchantments.

“Then, is this all for now? I’m going to buy them.”

I noted these down in the memo and then asked.

“Xiao Han, you really just do whatever comes to mind, don’t you?”

“Aiya one only knows what is needed and what isn’t after reaching the place!”

However, doing it this way meant I would have to run to many places all at once.

Apart from the large timber, other indoor decorations, handicrafts, materials, and so on all had to be purchased from different places.

But the Witch Academy did have quite a few handicraft shops and markets in the peripheral areas.

After all, for many students, their bedroom in a villa where they would live for ten years also needed to be decorated.

It hadn’t been long since the newcomers started school, and it was currently in the later stage of the Newcomer Competition; there were many places selling these small items to attract the newcomers.

I looked at the area around the house foundation and seemed to think of something else.

“Big Sis Bai, speaking of which, should we go to a gardening shop or a flower shop to buy some decorative plants to plant around? Or maybe start a small flower bed or a small vegetable garden on the edge here?”

“Good suggestion then let’s plan the design around the building again.”

Big Sis Bai also nodded.

Suddenly becoming busy like this, it felt as if time wasn’t quite enough.

But what we lacked the least was time.

So in the end, we planned it again, confirmed the scope of the peripheral flower beds and the types of plants, and then prepared to head out.

“Ling Yi we’re going out for a bit. We’ll come back to see you in a while.”

I said to Ling Yi, that cute little Grass and Tree Elf.

“Mhm okay! Safe travels.”

Ling Yi was currently staying in a tree, and this tree had used the transliteration of the name “World Tree” from the Grass and Tree Elf’s cognition as its own name.

So this large tree, originally called the Myriad Connection Main Network Tree, now had a name of its own.

It was called… the “He Ya Tree.”

After these two days, with my use of spells and wood-element energy for nourishment, plus the care of this little fellow Ling Yi, it had grown to the size of two people.

However, its trunk was still not very thick, and it didn’t even look as grand as the trees in the roadside green belts, but its growth speed was absolutely nothing to scoff at.

Ling Yi lived among the branches of this He Ya Tree.

I had originally planned to help her build a temporary little house, but I was rejected.

Grass and Tree Elves can co-exist symbiotically with plant growth.

Since she chose this tree as her home, she wouldn’t use unnatural ways to build her house.

This sense of ritual was just like Big Sis Bai and me choosing to build our own little house with our own hands.

After a Grass and Tree Elf establishes communication with a large tree, they will open a tree hollow on the tree as their home.

This kind of tree hollow won’t cause any harm to the plant, and if the Grass and Tree Elf leaves for too long, the tree hollow will gradually heal up.

Right now, the He Ya Tree hadn’t reached a size large enough to open a hollow for Ling Yi to live in, so Ling Yi was currently very protective of it, accompanying it as it grew.

Furthermore, she ate and lived on this tree, as if performing the most primitive symbiotic ritual.

After greeting Ling Yi, I also left some fruits for her.

Although it was impossible for a Grass and Tree Elf to starve to death in a forest, Ling Yi clearly preferred eating fruits accompanied by various natural energies compared to naturally absorbing plant essence.

And I discovered that she also liked the taste of Fool’s Dream Drink, so I left a small jar of Fool’s Dream Drink beside her as well.

As Big Sis Bai and I stepped out of the Dungeon World, I suddenly felt the unread messages coming from the Great Tree of Knowledge linked to the Academy Network.

“Mhm?”

“What’s wrong?”

Big Sis Bai naturally saw my reaction.

“Someone contacted me. I didn’t receive the notification inside the Dungeon World. Well… the Great Tree of Knowledge itself has the information… it’s just that I didn’t pay attention…”

I might have been doing something very focused with Big Sis Bai when they were sent.

“Did some sudden incident happen?”

“Tan Han… Yi Rui… these two sent me messages one after another.”

I opened the messages with some surprise; they were sent to me by Tan Han.

Scanning through them roughly, I roughly understood what they meant.

Tan Han had encountered the construction threshold for Self-generating Magic Power.

I should have told Tan Han about this originally, but she might not have understood my meaning at the time, to the point that she had now encountered a situation similar to Yi Rui’s.

After all, Tan Han’s progress was a bit slower than Yi Rui’s; it was only in these past few days that Tan Han had just caught up.

What Tan Han lacked now was… how to implement the structure of Self-generating Magic Power, which shapes the life essence, onto her witch racial concept and bloodline information.

And this was very much a test of luck.

Many things that fell into place naturally for me would appear difficult and bumpy for others.

In fact, after deciding to take Tan Han as the primary experimental subject, I had also explained the steps to be taken next to Yi Rui and the other sisters.

It meant that while they continued to push the resonance method for the ten thousand Magic Power Source limit in the laboratory, they could also try to structure Self-generating Magic Power themselves if they still had the energy after going back.

But now there was no movement at all.

This was not only a sign of their slim chances but also an embodiment of the immaturity of the techniques we currently mastered.

“Xiao Han, if it’s an important matter, you should go and be busy first. There should always be a priority for the weight of things. It’s also fine for me to go and buy those things.”

Big Sis Bai’s voice drifted into my ears at this time.

“But… I still want to go strolling with you, Big Sis Bai…… sigh… alright…”

The words I spoke were a bit agitated, but my rationality quickly calmed me down.

“Was Xiao Han a bit selfish just now? It’s fine you know very well that no matter how much time passes, I will wait for you. Life always has many sudden accidents. Learning to balance the uncertainty of life with the conflict of plans is the way to experience life.”

“This is a compromise!”

I argued, though I knew very well that if everything in life went according to my own heart’s desire, that would also be a disaster.

“Well, if you don’t want to compromise, then go and fight it, solve this matter beautifully and then come back to show off to me, how about that?”

“Humph then I’m going?”

“Go on.”

Big Sis Bai said with a smile.

“I’m really going…”

To be honest, I hadn’t yet reached the feeling of being tired of staying with Big Sis Bai; I didn’t really want to have that peace interrupted by something outside of the plan.

“Go quickly! If I finish buying things and you haven’t returned yet, I’ll wait for you in the Dungeon World, and then we’ll build our little house together.”

After bidding farewell to Big Sis Bai, I didn’t care about anything else and directly adopted the most efficient way, appearing at the laboratory through a teleportation spell.

They said they were at the laboratory now, so it was better to ask them in person if there was anything.

What’s more, this time they arrived at the laboratory before me!

So they couldn’t say I was over-competing with them!

“Cough mhm… has something happened after all?”

My figure appeared in the laboratory.

Seeing those figures currently busy—several sisters who had returned long ago—the most prominent ones were Yi Rui and Tan Han, because they were the busiest.

“Xiao Han? You’re here. Did you see the messages we left you?”

“Yeah. It hasn’t been that long, right? About half a day… looking at you guys, you haven’t handled it yet. Has some problem occurred?”

“Mhm. Tan Han’s current situation is very special. I tried using the theoretical foundation you gave us, though I was a bit aggressive…”

Yi Rui looked at her mentor beside her as she said this, indicating that her mentor was there to back her up.

“However, there seems to be some progress… but… not much progress…”

“Is that so? Let me see.”

I said with some expectation, then stepped forward.
