Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

“Today, we witness here once again the elegance of another batch of newcomers to our Witch Academy. Throughout these days, I have observed your performances in the competition, and they have been far better than I expected…”

At this moment, the witch Banaier stood high in the air, looking down at every newcomer below, delivering her thoughts as the grade director at the final stage of this Newcomer Competition.

This Newcomer Competition was organized in a hurry, but the results were surprisingly good.

Although it was not as grand as the previous ones, the newcomers did not disappoint her.

She only regretted that she had not secured even more benefits for these children.

“This competition aims to let you recognize the struggles of the transcendent world. In previous years, only the class president of each class could participate in the Newcomer Competition. However, I hoped that every one of you could experience it. Perhaps you will get hurt, perhaps you will be heavily wounded, and you might even experience death. But none of that matters. Once you step into the transcendent world, you must adapt to the rules that come from the transcendent world…”

“Every attempt you make on the field, every time you fall and get back up, will become wealth on your path to growth. As the grade director, I deeply understand that the fact that every one of you could come to the Witch Academy and stand here listening to me speak represents your infinite potential and possibilities. Perhaps no one will push you on your future path of learning, but I only hope you remember the sentence I am saying now: do not let yourself fail your own talent and ability…”

As the grade director, Banaier naturally spoke inspirational words with ease.

Although she had faced such scenes time and time again, whenever she saw these children, she would inexplicably inject her own emotions and speak from the heart.

After finishing these “useless words,” the even more anticipated segment began.

That was the awarding of the rankings for the Newcomer Competition.

This batch continued the practice of the previous batch where, due to an accident, the rankings within the top ten were not detailed, but the rewards given for the top ten rankings were still generous.

Even the rewards beyond the top ten made everyone green with envy.

Although… many of them were not quite sure what those rewards represented, rewards related to the transcendent in the transcendent world were by no means comparable to ordinary material rewards.

Furthermore, because the competition was rushed, rewards that were “very material,” such as prize money, were also included in the prize list.

The most direct prize money alone was enough to make many people exclaim that they could spend the rest of their lives counting money while lying down.

However… it wouldn’t be long before they understood that for ordinary currency, after reaching a certain amount, it became meaningless.

To go a step further, one would need the more precious transcendent currency, whereas ordinary money could only better improve one’s life but could not help one progress further on the path of the transcendent.

After holding the vigorous awarding ceremony, Banaier, as the grade director, announced another plan she had long plotted.

That was to introduce the Newcomer Top 10 of the Newcomer Competition to the Myriad Connection Arena ahead of schedule, registering them for the Power Network Ladder Rankings to let them fully show their faces there!

In this batch, the newcomers lacked the provocations from other external transcendent academies; without pressure, there would be no motivation.

Even if all ten individuals lost their matches against the senior students, it would still be a defeat with honor!

The strong remain strong and become braver with every battle.

If a person is frustrated and unable to get back up after just one battle, then such a person naturally cannot be called strong.

Judging from this attitude alone, the witch Banaier’s cultivation philosophy appeared even more radical, but not many witches expressed opposition to it.

The weakness of the weak originates from the heart; no matter how powerful the strength one masters, one will still be beaten into a rout.

As this Newcomer Competition drew to a close, the people at the training ground gradually dispersed.

Before long, they would return to their normal classes.

When the other students were about to leave, Banaier kept the strongest ten people of this batch’s competition behind.

She still needed to tell these children about some special matters and other precautions.

“First, congratulations once again on securing a top-ten ranking in this batch’s Newcomer Competition. You can go to your respective counselors later to collect your rewards. They will also tell you how to use those prizes and provide some instructions.”

“Understood, Teacher!”

“Teacher Banaier, did you keep us here for anything else?”

“Of course. It’s mainly about the matches you are going to play at the Myriad Connection Arena. You should already know about this, right? I also mentioned it in the final summary just now. In short, just do your best in this matter.”

Mentor Banaier spoke to explain to everyone.

“It doesn’t matter even if you can’t beat a single person. In the end, I will still give you extra guaranteed rewards. Furthermore, you’ve only been enrolled for a few days; don’t be discouraged if you lose. Of course… if anyone wants to forfeit, you can say so now. I won’t force you to experience setbacks and failures.”

“I’m not afraid of those senior girls. With everyone’s power being the same, it’s not certain who will lose!”

“Confidence is a good thing.”

Banaier glanced at the lively and confident girl before her and gave a word of encouragement.

Then her gaze turned toward the other nine girls.

“It’s fine. Don’t forcefully pressure yourself because of the attitudes of those around you. Acknowledging your own weakness is also a threshold that needs to be crossed on the path to becoming powerful.”

After waiting for a while and confirming one by one that no one wanted to give up on this opportunity, Banaier also smiled with relief.

“Very good! I know that since you could fight your way out of a competition with tens of thousands of people, every one of you has your own pride and drive!”

Banaier said with great emotion.

“However, for participating in the Myriad Connection Arena Power Network Ladder Rankings, you are still too green right now. In the Newcomer Competition, the energy level of the power network you used was the lowest, precisely to reduce the occurrence of too many severe injuries or death cases during the competition. However, the energy level of the power network in the arena is at normal output, and your opponents will have more experience.”

“So, before letting you formally participate in this academy-wide tournament with the title of ‘Newcomer Top 10,’ I have found several sparring partners for you to let you adapt to the combat intensity of the senior girls!”

As Banaier said this, she clapped her hands, and several figures walked out from the passage on one side of the training ground.

They were all in identical stances, with their long white hair drifting naturally under the breeze blowing across the training ground, their somewhat cold faces wearing expressions devoid of much emotion.

“This… this is that senior!”

The ten people on the scene recognized them at the first moment upon seeing this row of five figures!

“I-It’s actually this senior?!”

“That’s right. I have invited the clones… of Assistant Yang Yuehan, who has been very famous in the Witch Academy rumors recently. You can also call her Senior Xiao Han.”

Mentor Banaier introduced them to everyone quite enthusiastically.

After all, these were the five clones she had deliberately kept.

It had to be said that Banaier felt these clones of Xiao Han were very useful, and they were much more obedient than some random student she could have called from somewhere.

Furthermore, since these were clones, they worked hard without a single word of complaint; she even felt a bit of regret for only keeping five.

“Hello, everyone. Just call us Senior Xiao Han, or Big Sis Xiao Han will do.”

The clone at the very front gave a brief self-introduction when facing these ten newcomers whose eyes still held a hint of greenness.

“I know! When I enrolled, it was this Big Sis Xiao Han who guided me through the process!”

Just as this student said, all ten people present recognized the senior before them.

After the newcomers excitedly finished their greetings, Banaier also spoke from the side:

“Alright, be quiet for a moment. Don’t try to get too friendly. Although the five before you are all clones of that Assistant Xiao Han, Assistant Xiao Han’s main body is also constantly paying attention to your behavior, so do not leave a bad impression in front of your seniors.”

“Today’s competition ended relatively early, so for the remaining time, I will organize you to battle against this senior’s clones to simulate a high-pressure combat environment with those senior students. Don’t worry I will have this senior hold back during the battle. Of course, you all must learn from it. The fact that you could make it here proves that your comprehension skills are not bad.”

“Understood.”

The group of ten responded cheerfully, with no atmosphere of tension at all.

Thus, next, amidst a burst of cheerfulness, they prepared to take turns in pairs to conduct combat training with Assistant Xiao Han’s clones.

Before long, they each carved out positions at the ready-made field here at the training ground.

There weren’t many bells and whistles; everyone’s atmosphere was still very relaxed.

“Everyone, restrain yourselves a bit, don’t be too playful. This senior before you is a very serious type. For the coming period, I have applied for course exemptions for you, so don’t worry about your theoretical courses. This time, the arena battles will be additionally counted as Special Contribution Points regardless of the outcome. The contributions you make will ensure you don’t have too many concerns regarding your theoretical courses.”

Of course, when Banaier said this, the main reason was actually that with the promotion of the Seed of Knowledge, the content that needed to be memorized or remembered in theoretical course lectures could be compressed almost infinitely.

That was why the theoretical course classes could be so willfully exempted.

In the future, the Witch Academy would also continuously streamline the time occupied by useless theoretical courses for lower-grade students, returning the students’ time to more meaningful things and giving them more time for self-directed learning.

“Come on, come on! I need to fight! Let me experience the combat techniques of a senior girl! Big Sis Xiao Han!”

At this moment, someone quickly couldn’t wait to step forward and experience the pressure.

In fact, these ten people were still relatively dismissive of this battle, or rather, they were still in a playful mindset.

What’s more, their opponents were just clones!

They weren’t even the main body, and she had to multitask to control so many at once.

But transcendent means are never something that newbies who have just come into contact with the transcendent can understand.

Real-world transcendent power never cares about reason or logic, nor is there any so-called balance; there is only absolute suppression of power.

Therefore, the challenge awaiting them next… was hell!

“Eh, wait! Let me go first, let me go first.”

Between the two people in one of the groups, one girl spoke up first.

“Alright I’ll let you go first to scout out this senior’s strength.”

The girl beside her also conceded.

“Senior Xiao Han Senior, do you still remember me?”

As soon as the girl stepped onto the field, she was not in a hurry to start fighting but instead tried to converse with the other party.

“You?”

The clone opposite the girl was also stunned for a moment upon seeing the girl before her, and then shared a special memory within the Seed of Great Knowledge.

“I remember now. Shi Liqun, that’s the name, right?”

“Yes! Senior really does remember me! I am your brother’s… ah, that’s not right, sister now. I am Senior’s sister’s roommate! Do you remember?”

“I remember. Do you want to claim a connection? I will not treat anyone differently.”

The clone spoke.

“Ah, no no no! I just want to demand an explanation for my roommate, your sister! I want to know… are you still a qualified sister!”

At this moment, Shi Liqun seemed to have been building up to this for a long time, or perhaps she was standing up for justice, taking this opportunity to ask the words in her heart at this time.

“Sister…”

The clone repeated the title, seemingly without any fluctuations.

“I am not a very good sister, but if you want to question me about anything on her behalf, then have her stand before me personally! Then question me about this problem with her own mouth, rather than hiding behind you and letting you ask me this question on her behalf.”

“Hiss……”

Shi Liqun instantly gasped, feeling a scent of someone not easy to deal with, as if a single sentence had suppressed her own questioning from the perspective of aura alone.

Similarly, this also made it hard for her to continue the conversation… could this be the conceit of a genius sister persona?

At this moment, Shi Liqun’s mind was frantically filling in the character setting, but now that she was already standing on the field, her Eighth Grade Syndrome-like words were also ready to fire.

“Very well… then I will pass on these words of yours… One day, I will bring her to stand before you fair and square!”

“If you really can change that conduct of hers, then consider it a favor I owe you. This is a promise I give on behalf of the main body. But now… this is a battle belonging to us.”

At this moment, the clone did not want to waste time on this very personal topic; her hand raised the short training wand from one side of the training ground, her meaning being very clear.

The commotion on Shi Liqun’s side naturally attracted the attention of some other people.

Those few lines of dialogue alone seemed to be filled with earth-shattering gossip, making people want to investigate.

And at this moment, Banaier, who was in the distance, also had her gaze drawn by this matter.

“That little fellow is called Shi Liqun, right? She’s in the same dorm as Yang Yunhan, and seems to be in the same class?”

In the information integrated by the Seed of Great Knowledge, Banaier quickly pulled up this information.

“Mhm, Yang Yunhan…… I have to say, the difference between her and her nominal sister is simply one in the heavens and one on the ground.”

Another mentor beside her chimed in.

“Who knows, perhaps this one also has the possibility of breaking out of the cocoon and becoming a butterfly? Back then, Yang Yuehan also showed no special features upon enrollment; it was Ji Niang who hauled her into the Witch Academy by her own strength. I have to say, that sister truly has a good eye. I’m envious.”

“She has her own traits too, alright? Currently the only Innate Spirit Visionary in the Main World who can still be called normal. Although the current Xiao Han also cannot be described with the word normal. The devastation of Spirit Vision on her cognition is mentally torturing her every moment. Coupled with the shadows of her childhood, it’s easy for her to fall into her own world.”

“Isn’t there also that sister Bai Yu, who recently entered the Saint Stage, taking care of her. I’m a bit envious. Destiny is truly a miraculous thing.”

“Xiao Han doesn’t just rely on Innate Spirit Vision. Even without it, she would be the type of late bloomer. Once she becomes a Transcendent Witch and touches True Time, at the worst, it would just be a starting point identical to the stage when she just enrolled. She even has a deeper foundation and will rise more rapidly than now.”

“Geez you guys, stop mentioning Xiao Han all the time. Once this topic is brought up, it won’t stop. Let’s still care about our newcomers. Speaking of which, aside from these ten children, what other good seedlings have caught your eyes?”

At this time, Banaier also spoke to smooth things over, pulling the topic back.
