Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 753: Trouble Brought by the Anti-Witch

Anti-Witches were not purely evil; they simply went and did what they believed to be right.

In the history of Witches, a war for a large world cluster to seize the foundation of a Void Elf race was clearly recorded.

It subsequently triggered crusades from various Elf race clusters within the Void, followed by public denunciations, and finally faded into nothing as the outcome was eventually accepted...

Every time, the Anti-Witches used their own ways to practice their philosophy.

They were not the type of masters who would just throw a mess somewhere and stop caring about it.

You could say that Anti-Witches relied on this method to transfer their own emotions or to prove the meaning of their existence, but you could not say they were irresponsible regarding these matters.

The influence of the Anti-Witch group on Witches was profound; it had greatly influenced the Witches’ methods of external expansion and exploration, and it had shaped the Witch race’s current illustrious and fierce reputation.

It even influenced the attitude of Transcendent Witches toward reserve students within the Witch Academy.

And the Anti-Witches had also done another major deed.

Once, because of the emergence and rise of the spellbook concept, a large batch of new-generation Witches became overgrown infants who only knew how to throw spells using spellbooks.

This incident caused the development of the Witch race to enter a great low.

Ultimately, this matter was also corrected by the Anti-Witch groups using extreme methods, and the influence of this correction has lasted until the present.

The force-spell correction innovation whipped up by the first batch of Anti-Witches back then even led to the birth of a large number of Lesser Witches.

What did this mean?

It meant that in that innovation, a large number of Transcendent Witches died—and it wasn’t an ordinary death, but a death where they dropped from the Transcendent level.

That innovation only ended when the Primal Witch personally stepped in to stop it.

In the end, the leader of the Anti-Witch group was deemed a Traitorous Anti-Witch for causing deaths within the Witch race and violating the initial Witch race contract, and was personally suppressed and killed by the Primal Witch with tears in her eyes.

The remaining Anti-Witches similarly received varying degrees of punishment.

Since then, the Witch’s Contract Truth Offering was updated once again for this matter.

The Witch’s Contract Truth Offering did not just refer to contributions at the foundation level of the Witch race or the birth of Truth Witches; it was also a concept that influenced every aspect of the Witch race.

And a Witch’s Contract was not merely a form between Witches using parchment as a contract carrier; its essence was the contract regulations that the Witch race collectively observed.

Its symbolic meaning was similar to legal regulations in general society, but the Witch’s Contract of the Witch race was more binding.

Why did other races trust the Witch’s Contract even if they didn’t trust Witches?

Because the Witch’s Contract could not be shaken; shaking the binding force of the contract was shaking the foundation and heritage of the Witch race.

Even lives with weak strength had no power to violate the contract or resist its binding force, and those who ultimately violated the contract were equivalent to standing on the opposite side of the entire Witch race.

Any Witch had the obligation to maintain the binding effectiveness of the Witch’s Contract.

Regardless of whether the other party was a Witch, as long as they signed a Witch’s Contract, they would be affected by the contract’s binding force.

If the one violating the contract was a Witch, she would become a Traitorous Anti-Witch and be hunted by the even more terrifying Anti-Witches within the Witch race.

So... other races actually hoped that Witches would not abide by the Witch’s Contract; this behavior itself was beneficial to other Transcendent races because it was shaking the foundation of the Witch race.

And the most fundamental clause within the Witch’s Contract was... that one cannot maliciously kill a fellow member of the Witch race.

And within this clause, there were many detailed rules—for example, how to judge cases of non-malicious killing, how to compensate or sentence, and for another example, how to define concluding a contract in advance to conduct a life-and-death duel where resurrection was possible, and so on.

Regarding this, many Witches who embarked on the Witch’s Contract Project spontaneously formed groups like the Contract Adjudicator organization to serve the Witch race.

There were others who wandered in the gray areas of the Witch’s Contract loopholes.

Generally, they would not use these small tricks against fellow Witches, only against races outside the Witch race.

It had to be said that these Witches still had some principles, though not many.

Aside from these... to speak of the Witch group treated most leniently by the Witch’s Contract, it would be the Anti-Witch group.

Since that race correction innovation triggered by the Anti-Witch group, even the Primal Witch took it very seriously.

But it was also because of that time that Witches learned the importance of the Anti-Witch group, and also learned that not all Truth Offerings could bring absolute benefits to the Witch race.

Just like the spellbook project, it was a complete innovation in technique!

But it fostered the birth of that group of overgrown infant Witches.

History records that in that innovation, of the group of Transcendent Witches whose life level was knocked down to become Lesser Witches, more than half had no ability to promote to Transcendent Witches again, becoming Lesser Witches who only knew how to throw spells until the end of their lives.

This was also the tragedy of Witch historical problems.

As this matter fermented, Witches believed that the existence of Anti-Witches was inevitable.

Because of their specialty, preferential treatment was also inevitable, but special power also represented equivalent obligations, as well as qualifications that must be restricted.

Thus, the Anti-Witch group became what it is today.

Witches who embark on the Anti-Witch Project cannot call themselves Anti-Witches, because this title requires qualification, and this title also represents greater power—for example, the correction of the Witch race using unlimited means that do not violate the Witch’s Contract.

Furthermore, they also master limited witch-hunting qualifications, but they cannot kill thoroughly; the bottom line is that the target must still be able to continue to exist by being resurrected as a Lesser Witch.

If the Anti-Witch’s behavior ultimately did not achieve a corrective effect, an appeal could be made directly to the Primal Witch for adjudication.

If the adjudication result was true... the Anti-Witch title and identity would be stripped, and the involved Witch would retain the right to unlimited pursuit of that former Anti-Witch until the other party’s life level fell from Transcendent, at which point the pursuit right would lapse.

In short, Anti-Witches master the most active power.

Even though they need to bear corresponding obligations and requirements, their level of danger is unquestionable.

***

Big Sis Bai told me many things after returning this time, yet she did not blindly disparage Anti-Witches.

But the problems encountered in our Main World exist; the Witch Academy in the Main World is facing a predicament similar to the ”spellbook overgrown infant Witches” back then.

Not only that, there are many other problems, but these are not things a single Anti-Witch can change with one sentence.

However... even if that Anti-Witch cannot change the status quo, she certainly will not sit idly by.

This was the reason why Big Sis Bai was worried about me.

And a more primary point was... I am not a Transcendent Witch; I am a Lesser Witch.

The only insurance was merely that contract acknowledging my status as an Honorary Lesser Witch.

But conversely, I am also the safest.

After all, the Witch’s Contract cannot be shaken; even for an Anti-Witch, it is the same.

The only thing to watch out for is what to do if the other party happens to become a Traitorous Anti-Witch.

Although Anti-Witches seem very likely to become ”Traitorous Anti-Witches,” Witches who understand and are familiar with the Anti-Witch philosophy of action all know that an Anti-Witch endowed with the title of Anti-Witch is the one least likely to actively defect and become a traitor among the Witch groups.

Therefore, they would never actively touch the binding force of the contract.

But... as the saying goes, killing is not the scariest part; destroying the heart is the most terrifying.

Just like that campaign for the Elf world cluster, the Anti-Witches did not directly or indirectly kill any Transcendent Witch, but the Anti-Witches’ actions still made Witches feel uncomfortable.

In the eyes of Anti-Witches, those Reserve Witches and Slave Armies were the same—nothing more than cannon fodder on the road to the rise of the Witch race.

But for those Witches who became Academy Heads, most of them had developed feelings for these children they raised themselves.

A Witch can have emotional ties even when raising a pet, let alone Reserve Witches cultivated as students.

”Whew... umm...”

Currently, I was lying on the sofa, resting my head on Big Sis Bai.

After hearing Big Sis Bai say so many things, I was indeed somewhat sighing.

I similarly realized the seriousness of the problem, and... that Anti-Witch, without surprise, has probably already targeted me.

I can’t help but feel a chill down my spine.

”It’s okay, Xiao Han, I’m still here for everything.”

Big Sis Bai, hearing those meaningless sighs from me, reached out and gently stroked my head to comfort me.

”As expected, Big Sis Bai’s sense of security is very sufficient.”

I responded contentedly.

”But you have to work hard yourself, Xiao Han. So, after this Self-generating Magic Power project experiment ends, when do you plan to start preparing for promotion to Transcendent?”

”The topic of promoting to Transcendent again?”

”If you don’t like it... then I won’t mention it next time.”

”It’s fine But to be honest, it really is time to prepare for promotion to Transcendent. It’s just that preparing to promote to Transcendent so shortly after enrollment—wouldn’t that be too shocking?”

I asked with a smile.

”What? You actually have concerns about such things, Xiao Han? This is proof of your genius; why bother with the standards of ordinary people? Strength is always the best means to sweep away those idle gossips.”

”True.”

I responded with a smile, my movements very leisurely.

Until my stomach began to feel a bit hungry...

I suddenly realized I seemed to have forgotten something!

”Wait!”

”What’s wrong?”

Big Sis Bai, seeing me suddenly sit up, thought something had happened.

”Aah... those sisters in my lab... I promised to help them bring food!”

I hurriedly got up and let out an urgent cry.

It wasn’t until I saw the current time that I let out a slight sigh of relief.

Fortunately, I left the lab early back then and reserved sufficient time for what I was going to do.

Right now, it was only just approaching noon.

”Bringing food?”

Big Sis Bai, hearing this somewhat distant term, also reacted quickly.

”Xiao Han, you scared me just now. I thought something had happened for you to be so excited.”

”Ah, sorry, sorry Umm, Big Sis Bai, you know I value promises very much. Helping them bring food was my suggestion. If the time passed, I would feel guilty in my heart...”

”Alright then I’ll forgive you.”

Big Sis Bai said indifferently.

”Oh, by the way, Xiao Han, did you have something in mind when you suddenly came back this time? As soon as I got back, I started telling you about these Anti-Witch matters; you haven’t mentioned your own business at all.”

”Almost forgot...”

I nodded repeatedly, as if just remembering what I came for.

”This time I came back primarily to ask you to help me collect materials related to the Great Witch Project, Big Sis Bai, especially information regarding the Witch race and the Witch bloodline. If there’s information or literature regarding history and such, I’ll take it all too.”

”Oh? Starting research on the Great Witch Project... preparing for promotion to a Transcendent Witch? What a coincidence.”

Big Sis Bai asked with a smile.

”If you want to think that way... it’s fine. I’ll have to know sooner or later anyway.”

I tilted my head and said helplessly.

Big Sis Bai really still has quite an obsession with making me promote to a Transcendent Witch as well.

But I was mainly doing it to verify and understand the method of constructing Self-generating Magic Power, and the correctness of that previous conjecture.

”Alright then, I’ll transmit it to you when the time comes.”

Big Sis Bai agreed very readily.

After all, regarding this knowledge, there isn’t much within the Witch Academy.

Only mentors who are Transcendent Witches have the qualification and permission to obtain these materials; quite a few even require entering the Primal Dream State to be found.

”Oh by the way, the Great Witch Project also includes the Anti-Witch Project, right?”

I inquired again, just wanting to confirm.

”Yes. You want materials on that too, Xiao Han?”

”Um. I want to understand it. After all... that Anti-Witch Cheryl also said a sentence; she said I might even have the talent to become an Anti-Witch...”

”So you want to become an Anti-Witch, Xiao Han? That’s very difficult. Even for the threshold, you need to personally kill a Traitorous Anti-Witch...”

”So I’ll just let such things happen as they will. The last one to tell me something like that was a Destiny Alchemist witch. So I just want to understand the Anti-Witch philosophy better. After all, I’ve already encountered one, and I might not be able to avoid her existence; I can’t know anything at all about her, right?”

I asked with a smile.

”That’s true.”

Big Sis Bai also nodded, agreeing with my statement.

Didn’t she say so much earlier just to make Xiao Han realize what kind of existence an Anti-Witch is?

”Alright, alright No more talk, no more talk. I have to go first. Anyway, I’ll have to trouble you again this time, Big Sis Bai.”

I also hurriedly stood up, realizing I still had things to be busy with.

Right now, I naturally couldn’t calm down to enjoy Big Sis Bai’s service again.

”It’s fine, not a trouble. Are you coming back to sleep today... or staying overnight in the lab like yesterday?”

”I’ll come back. Today isn’t very busy.”

I said with a smile.

”In any case, I’ll accompany you to sleep tonight.”

”I’m looking forward to it.”

”Hmph then look forward to it hard! I’m off.”

Seeing Big Sis Bai’s expectant expression, I knew what she was thinking.

Sure enough, in such an easy environment like the Main World, a full stomach breeds lust; even Transcendents cannot avoid this instinct from the continuation of life.

Leaving Big Sis Bai’s villa, I opened the group chat.

Many people in the group had already sent what they wanted to eat.

It had to be said, when they really get to pick, they truly know how to eat.

I also silently noted down these hidden-gem little shops, to try them one by one when I have time.

Just after I left Big Sis Bai’s villa, Bai Yu stood up without a word.

The gentle expression she had when getting along with Xiao Han had completely vanished, as if she were waiting for someone.

Knock knock knock—

Following a formal bout of knocking, Bai Yu stepped forward to open it.

”Oh my I’m truly sorry. My previous visit was a presumptuous disturbance. This time I’m knocking formally; I wonder if I could be given a chance to have a chat? How about it?”

Bai Yu looked at the Anti-Witch named Cheryl before her and took a deep breath, meeting the other’s slightly frivolous gaze.

Finally, she spoke: ”You may.”

”Thank you. I believe you will definitely thank your current generosity later.”

Cheryl smiled lightly and stepped into the villa once again.
