Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 752: Deeds of the Anti-Witch

Watching Mentor Cheryl leave, I finally let out a silent sigh of relief.

I did not quite like this mentor, and it was not just because she was an Anti-Witch, but because of her abrupt visit and the manner in which she conducted it.

On the surface, she even gave a gift as an apology, but the item given was something useless to me.

Furthermore, the feeling given to me by my sixth sense, Heart Sense, was even more uncomfortable.

Heart Sense was a channel for perception and understanding, but even with Heart Sense, I could not distinguish between the other party’s good or evil; it was like a mass of chaos.

This was a feeling no other Transcendent Witch had ever brought me.

More importantly was this behavior of coming without notice and entering a private domain!

But now that the other party was gone, thinking about these things further was meaningless and would only increase unnecessary negative emotions.

Thinking carefully... it seemed like just like the first time, she asked some strange questions again and then left on her own accord.

It was like a psychological test, wanting to probe certain essences of mine, to the point where my words responding to her appeared very outrageous.

Still too immature... the conversation in the latter half.

Even my emotions were influenced.

But looking back at it afterward, it was likely also the result of the other party’s deliberate guidance, such as using means like emotional amplification.

I leaned back on the sofa, nestling into it somewhat lazily, trying my best to adjust to the most comfortable posture.

This helped in the relief and release of emotions.

“Forget it, I won’t go looking for Big Sis Bai. I’ll contact her directly...”

I muttered to myself.

Subsequently, a spell image manifested before me.

With practiced operation, I quickly jumped to Big Sis Bai’s communication page.

In a short while, the communication connected, and Big Sis Bai’s image appeared before me.

“Xiao Han Why did you contact me all of a sudden? Has something happened?”

Big Sis Bai was somewhat surprised at this moment that I would contact her at this time.

Currently, Big Sis Bai was over at the Physical Arts Training Hall, and familiar faces of several other Body Cultivation Witches could be seen in the image.

“Um um, some things indeed happened. Does Big Sis Bai know an Anti-Witch named Cheryl? Just now, this Anti-Witch suddenly came to Big Sis Bai’s villa... scared me...”

“What?”

Hearing my words, Big Sis Bai didn’t even hear what I said afterward before she directly tore space and stepped back into the villa.

“Eh?”

I raised my head to look at Big Sis Bai who appeared inside the villa, my face showing an unspeakable surprise, “Big Sis Bai, you’re back already?!”

“Um. Where is that Anti-Witch?”

Big Sis Bai asked immediately upon entering.

As soon as she returned, her gaze scrutinized the surroundings.

Her slightly twitching nose seemed as if it had already smelled the scent of the other party having been here.

Then she gave a cold snort, sweeping away even that last trace of a mark.

“She has already left...”

“Left, huh...”

Hearing this result, Big Sis Bai was not surprised.

Similarly, she did not regret returning so impulsively.

For someone like her who mastered transcendent power, this was not a difficult task.

“Um. Before leaving, she only asked some strange questions.”

I added, “Is Big Sis Bai so urgent to return because you know that Anti-Witch named Cheryl?”

“I’ve met her a few times, I suppose. Xiao Han, if you encounter this situation next time, contact me directly. It’s best not to be alone with her.”

Big Sis Bai’s expression turned unusually serious at this moment, showing a significant contrast to her usual gentle and casual manner.

“Is she... very dangerous?”

I inquired tentatively.

“All Anti-Witches are very dangerous, especially since you are still just a Lesser Witch and cannot withstand the tossing of those fellows. This is what Academy Head Mei told me.”

Big Sis Bai spoke.

Her tone carried a trace of wariness toward Anti-Witches, as if she felt such existences as Anti-Witches should not appear in a place like the Main World.

“Academy Head Mei told you, Big Sis Bai?”

I asked with some confusion.

I remembered back then, Academy Head Mei described the situation of Anti-Witches to me as an organization specifically dedicated to hunting traitorous Anti-Witches, right?

Although they were rebellious by nature, they were still a group of witches acknowledged by the Primal Witch, even having an exclusive Anti-Witch Project, which even belonged as a sub-project under the Great Witch Project.

But the perception originating from Heart Sense could not be wrong.

I believed Academy Head Mei’s narration, and I also believed my own judgment, but these were all prejudices from a certain perspective.

Unless the other party was also a Body Cultivation expert and also possessed Heart Sense, only then could they rely on the gap between Transcendents to interfere with my Heart Sense perception.

“More or less. Did Academy Head Mei narrate it to you as well?”

“Yes, but in Academy Head Mei’s words, Anti-Witches... were not that terrible.”

“I’ve looked into the Anti-Witch Project myself.”

Big Sis Bai began.

Ever since that time Cheryl contacted her, she had gone to understand the concept of Anti-Witches and had communicated with Academy Head Mei more than once.

“Anti-Witches are indeed not strictly terrible, or rather, their existence is beneficial to the Witch race, but it is limited to that. Any beautification of Anti-Witches is entirely built upon the time when one hasn’t yet entered into a relationship with them.”

“So they are the type of... warners who caution more witches by harming the interests of individual witches?”

“That is the type... but inaccurate.”

Big Sis Bai sighed and then spoke again.

“Let me explain with a case and a small story.”

“Sure.”

I nodded immediately, assuming a listening posture.

“This is also what I saw while looking through materials. Xiao Han should know that there are many Witch Academies in the Void, right? Those are all academies established by witches for Witchification.”

Big Sis Bai said, “The threshold for establishing a Witch Academy is actually very low. One only needs a Transcendent Witch to act as a guarantor and register a note with the Primal Witch for it to be established.”

“I know there are many Witch Academies in the Void, but the threshold... this is the first time I’ve heard of it. Is just one Transcendent Witch enough?”

I said with some surprise.

“Yes. If it’s just the lower limit for establishment, one is enough. But generally, they are established by groups of witches, which were the original Academy Heads.”

“So the upper and lower limits of Witch Academies actually have a huge gap. And our Main World’s Witch Academy is already considered a very massive and open Witch Academy... I’m getting a bit off-topic. Let’s talk about those Witch Academies established at the borders of Void expansion.”

“Sure So what exactly happened there?”

I asked curiously.

“The systems of Witch Academies at the borders of Void expansion are very different from the Main World. Moreover, the students taken in there basically all originate from the wandering races in that part of the Void. Why are those lives wandering? Because their worlds were already destroyed during the Witches’ Void expansion.”

“Is that so...”

This made me think of the streamlined production of Dungeon Worlds Academy Head Mei told me about... those Dungeon Worlds should be the original homes of those lives.

Carrying such hatred, can such lives really be transformed into witches?

“It’s strange, right? Xiao Han, are you thinking that everything was caused by witches, so how can races bearing such hatred be transformed into Transcendent Witches?”

Big Sis Bai asked with a smile.

“Um.”

I nodded, indeed somewhat surprised.

“So in reality, the transformation rate of Transcendent Witches at the borders of Void expansion is very low. It relies entirely on the massive base number. And the witches transformed are indeed as you thought—they bear hatred toward witches.”

“Eh?”

“But this hatred is then transferred because of the submission of the Witchified race.”

At this point, Big Sis Bai took another deep breath.

“The materials I read described that part of the reason for the existence of the Anti-Witch Project is to transform this type of witch. They have a sense of submission toward the Witch race, yet their hearts harbor hatred and extreme emotions toward witches. Since the Primal Witch still acknowledges their identity as witches, then this hatred converts into an extreme whipping force toward the Witch race itself.”

“Hatred turning into whipping... so this whipping sometimes lacks a sense of proportion, right?”

I interjected to ask.

“You could say that, but... it’s not sometimes, it’s that at any time, they lack a sense of proportion.”

Big Sis Bai said seriously.

“So the general background and situation are about what I’ve told you, Xiao Han. Now the small story officially begins.”

“Oh right, the small story.”

I also nodded hurriedly, starting to look forward to it.

Under such a dark background and general environment, what would an Anti-Witch do?

“Void expansion is actually a matter that relies heavily on luck, because you never know what you will encounter during expansion—a small world or a large world. But more often than not, it’s just a world prototype that doesn’t even count as a small world. So the incident happened in a Witch Academy established in the Void. They discovered a world cluster of a large world that had never been seen before.”

“And then.”

“And then they found that a single Witch Academy could not swallow this large world and its surrounding allied world clusters. So they allied with several nearby Transcendent Academies to jointly launch a world expedition.”

“Eh? Is the distribution of Witch Academies in the Void that dense? They can even form alliances?”

I asked curiously.

“I’m not clear, after all, I haven’t been to the borders of Void expansion. But... it must be far more tragic than you can imagine.”

Speaking to this point, Big Sis Bai thought of the two in her office, Miao and Hei.

They seemed to have graduated from such a Witch Academy.

Even if it wasn’t the front line, it was definitely not a peaceful world like the Main World.

“This world expedition lasted for over a hundred years. Sounds like a long time, right?”

“Um. An ordinary person might not even live that long in their entire life.”

I nodded in agreement.

“But this is just a microcosm of Transcendent races warring in the Void. This was not just a war, but an invasion directed at this world and civilization. It was not just the mutual consumption of war and life, but also the invasion and assimilation between civilizations and ethnic groups.”

“As time went on, more Transcendent Academies joined this world cluster invasion, reaching over twenty in number. However, the war was still dragged into a stalemate.”

“Ah? Why?”

Hearing this conclusion, I was also a bit dumbfounded.

I felt it shouldn’t be like that...

“Xiao Han, this is a story that happened very early on. So... it cannot be viewed with the scale of our Main World’s Witch Academy, nor can it be compared to the current influence of our Witch race. Furthermore, that large world cluster belonged to an Elf race that had successfully promoted to a Transcendent race, already possessing an Elf Royal Family that could directly gestate and birth Transcendents between Transcendents.”

The concept of a Transcendent race refers to a group that has the ability to gestate between Transcendents and possesses a Transcendent bloodline that can be continued.

Many groups that are not Transcendent races similarly have Transcendent individuals, but due to various reasons, they cannot even birth offspring that are “born Transcendent,” so they cannot become a Transcendent race.

Therefore, only those with the offspring that are “born Transcendent” are acknowledged as Transcendent races.

Furthermore, the more such a race develops, the deeper its foundation becomes.

Even Transcendent races require time to constantly grow.

Thus, there are gaps even between Transcendent races.

“Alright Then continue Big Sis Bai, what happened then? When did the Anti-Witch appear?”

I asked curiously.

“The Anti-Witch... didn’t they appear from the very beginning?”

Big Sis Bai said, “The main force of Void expansion and expeditions are Anti-Witches. Only by constantly transferring that hatred to other races can those witches bearing hatred find the meaning of their own survival. Xiao Han, not every witch is as carefree as those in the Main World.”

“So that’s how it is... so not every thing an Anti-Witch does is harmful to witches, right?”

“From the racial level, that is indeed the case. It’s just that their methods are not accepted by all witches.”

Big Sis Bai explained.

“Actually, Witch Academies of Void expansion were not this brutal at the very beginning. They would expand into new worlds and develop and assimilate those worlds in a cooperative manner, becoming common sisters.”

“But with this way of acting by Anti-Witches—destroying the world first no matter what, and then taking in wandering refugees—the witches’ ill fame spread. But it was precisely because of this format that more Witch Academies had a large number of reserve students and also a large number of cannon fodder to invade even more worlds. The progress of Void expansion also jumped significantly, and the circulation of Dungeon Worlds increased.”

“……”

“And back to that large Elf world cluster. Those twenty-something Witch Academies combined were dragged into a quagmire of war by the Transcendent Elves. Their original intention was to hope the witches would retreat. After all, war is about resources. The Elves had a whole Void cluster of worlds, but the witches only had the Witch Academies they opened themselves. Naturally, they couldn’t afford the mutual consumption.”

“But they were disappointed?”

“Yes.”

Big Sis Bai nodded and said, “While the intelligence that the witches couldn’t afford the consumption was a fact, it was the Anti-Witches who took the initiative to reveal it. On the front line of the expedition, the Slave Army led by the Anti-Witches showed weakness, luring the Elves into a counter-attack. They used over a dozen Witch Academies as bait to perish together and destroy the main Elf army, while the Anti-Witches infiltrated the large world cluster to perform a decapitation strike on the Elf Royal Family.”

“Wait... what do you mean? Using over a dozen Transcendent Academies as bait?”

I asked immediately.

“Literally. They abandoned and set up their fellow Transcendent Witches. Using the academies they controlled, as well as other Transcendent Academies, as the price to pin down the main army. They caused the Elf Royal Family to misjudge the situation, thinking the witches would return to defend. In reality, they infiltrated the core realm of the large world cluster and decapitated the Elf Royal Family.”

“This... what is the point of this?!”

I asked in great confusion.

“Exactly, what is the point? We don’t understand because we are not Anti-Witches.”

Big Sis Bai shook her head and said, “But do you know what the witches ultimately lost and what they gained?”

“I don’t know...”

I shook my head and said.

“The expedition was eventually victorious. The Witch race obtained a large world cluster, established even more massive Witch Academies, obtained the precious bloodline of the Elf Royal Family, birthed powerful Elf Witch branches with special bloodlines, and mastered rare Elf race bloodline transformation and summoning spells that the Elves had once claimed could not be plundered...”

“And they also plundered the Elves’ racial foundation and way of life—Elf Magic—and integrated it into the Transcendent Witch spellbook system. Otherwise... how do you think the Elf Magic category spellbooks mastered by witches came about and developed?”

“……And the price?”

“The price was... countless deaths and injuries. Over a dozen Witch Academies were destroyed for this. It seems very tragic, but...”

At this point, Big Sis Bai sighed, but continued anyway.

“But, the loss of Transcendent Witches was extremely small. Those who died were only Reserve Witches, Slave Armies... their deaths were not counted toward the losses of the Witch race itself. So this was an almost lossless victory for the expedition. It was only the brutal methods that made it unacceptable to many witches. And this is precisely the method of Anti-Witches, and that was just an incident manifested at the level of external expeditions.”

“So... there are also internal ones?”

It took me a long time to synchronize with this kind of Anti-Witch thinking.

Even if those who died were Reserve Witches, they were still not recognized as Transcendent Witches.

This thinking was far more extreme than those witches in the Main World.

At least here, they still treated people in the Main World as human beings and were even willing to mold a peaceful social order.

“Yes, there are also internal methods—toward those long-lived old-fashioned witches, toward the new generation of young witches, toward the seed witches who haven’t yet been promoted to Transcendent... they all have their own judgments, tests, and principles of conduct.”
