Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

After I proposed building a little house that belonged only to me and Big Sis Bai, the idea began to sprout continuously in my heart.

However, when I truly planned to start building, I discovered that I didn’t have much experience in construction.

Although I had accumulated some experience building things back in the Expansion Realm, that craftsmanship was far too different from the finished product we envisioned.

”It’s okay If we don’t know how to build it, we can just take our time. In short, don’t be so anxious. We’ll make a good plan first, figure out exactly what we need, and then go build it,” Big Sis Bai comforted me.

”True...”

I looked around at the surrounding scenery, feeling the purest sense of beauty in the environment, and the impulse to immediately chop down trees and build a house dissipated.

”In that case, how about we plant a tree here first?”

I pulled out a primordial seed of the Myriad Connection Main Network Tree.

This was a first-generation seed and also the seed with the strongest ”plasticity.”

And I brought it out not because I hoped it would construct some power network or root network here, but because I expected it could establish a symbiotic relationship with the earth veins of this Dungeon World.

The current Myriad Connection Main Network Trees and earth veins actually have a provider-consumer relationship.

The Myriad Connection Main Network Tree relies on the earth veins and earth vein energy to convert earth energy, then relies on the power of the earth veins to run various abilities and build functions.

But a Dungeon World could not withstand such tossing around.

If the growth model of the Myriad Connection Main Network Tree could not rely on the earth veins for a provider relationship, then it would need an additional energy supply.

”Planting a tree?”

Big Sis Bai looked at the seed I seemed to have prepared long ago and didn’t think too much of it.

”It really is a good idea to plant one to commemorate the occasion. What kind of seed is this? For you to bring it out at this moment, it must have a very special meaning.”

”This is a Myriad Connection Main Network Tree, which can be considered a small inspiration I had back then.”

I explained.

Although the Myriad Connection Main Network Tree was indeed the type that could grow very, very large in just a few months, without the nourishment of the earth veins, its growth would become very slow.

”A Myriad Connection Main Network Tree? Xiao Han, do you want to introduce the power network and root network here?”

Big Sis Bai naturally knew what this tree called the Myriad Connection Main Network Tree was, which was why she asked.

However, she didn’t oppose me doing so.

”Of course not. If I did that, it would accelerate the exhaustion of the earth vein tributaries within this Dungeon World. What I want to do is better maintain this world’s earth veins. Speaking of trees that can maintain world earth veins, what tree do you think of, Big Sis Bai?”

”The Forest Elves’ World Tree!”

Big Sis Bai said it without hesitation.

After all, it was far too famous.

If one were to discuss plant technology, the Forest Elves were the most skilled at it.

Furthermore, it wasn’t that the Elven races didn’t develop, but their concept of development was more about symbiosis with nature.

Rather than calling it plant technology, they preferred to call it plant-affinity Elf Magic.

And to speak of existences that could repair world earth veins, the Elves’ World Tree was the oldest species that coexisted and co-prospered with earth veins.

”Right. Although the Myriad Connection Main Network Tree isn’t a World Tree, I feel that with its characteristics as a plant, it can achieve similar abilities,” I said firmly.

And I said this with my own confidence.

The original technique for improving the Myriad Connection Main Network Tree was a technique derived using my Great Tree of Knowledge as a prototype, which resulted in the current form of the Myriad Connection Main Network Tree.

Under my continuous cognition of the [Transcendent Knowledge] represented by the Great Tree of Knowledge, I understood the characteristics it represented more clearly.

[Plant Growth]

This could be said to be a description of a process, or a summary of a characteristic.

Just as Academy Head Mei said back then, if this [Transcendent Knowledge] had been made into a Grand Spellbook by an ordinary witch, that Grand Spellbook should have been a plant-type Grand Spellbook, rather than the more abstract Great Tree of Knowledge I had now.

But in the final analysis, the characteristics of [Transcendent Knowledge] with the Great Tree of Knowledge as the form of the Grand Spellbook could likewise derive techniques used for the logic of general plant growth.

”Mhm? Big Sis Bai, what are you looking at?”

Just as I was preparing to plant this seed, I saw Big Sis Bai’s gaze currently looking toward a certain place.

”I saw some interesting things left behind,” Big Sis Bai said with a smile.

”Interesting things?”

”I’m going over to take a look.”

”Then go slowly I’ll plant this seed first.”

Watching Big Sis Bai suddenly leave, I gave a light wave of my hand.

The power endowed by Earth Spells guided the soil by my feet to gradually loosen, and then the ground appeared as if a pit had been dug out.

I dropped the seed in, and the pit broken in the ground gradually healed.

Immediately after, a small area of moistening rain soaked this patch of land.

Powerful perception endowed me with the ability to feel the state of the seed underground, and then I began to perform a complex induced modification on this seed.

After all, if a Myriad Connection Main Network Tree didn’t undergo induction, it would overdraw the potential of the earth veins.

The reason I chose this spot was because it was located at the very center of this Dungeon World, and it was also the area where the earth vein intersections were most dense.

Although it couldn’t compare to the kind of earth vein convergence points in the Expansion Realm, this was already the best place in the entire Dungeon World.

Next, I pulled out my Book in the Casket and flipped to the later pages.

Generally speaking, my Book in the Casket was very empty; most of the time, there was nothing inside.

However, when the Book in the Casket was originally designed and made, every one of its pages was an excellent sealing carrier refined from a special material.

The reason I pulled out the Book in the Casket was because I wanted to take out something very precious that was sealed inside.

One of the world’s three source elements, the Transcendent Primordial Crystal.

That was the original energy that could erupt and generate an entire vein of transcendent crystal ores from just a small piece in the Expansion Realm.

I prepared to use this to provide for the energy consumption of the Myriad Connection Main Network Tree.

However... the Myriad Connection Main Network Tree absolutely could not withstand such a high-energy level energy crystal, so it would need a transformation.

As for the medium for transformation... it would still be the Myriad Connection Main Network Tree itself.

After all, the previous Myriad Connection Main Network Tree itself was a structure that undertook energy transformation, but right now it was just a seed newly put into the soil... it definitely couldn’t carry it.

But it didn’t matter; I had plenty of time.

So... if possible, I had several days to waste my energy here.

Not long after, in order to more conveniently induce and modify the Myriad Connection Main Network Tree, I floated sideways in the air, just a little distance above the ground, my gaze fixed on the slightly bulging mound of earth, as if witnessing the eruption of plant life.

”Xiao Han? What are you doing? You’re almost lying on the ground.”

”Big Sis Bai is back?”

I looked up at Big Sis Bai.

At this moment, Big Sis Bai’s hands were cupped together, as if something was hidden in her palms to give me a surprise.

”Yeah Guess what I found?”

Big Sis Bai also stepped forward happily, looking as happy as if she had picked up a bargain.

”Wait... Big Sis Bai, you couldn’t have found a Grass and Tree Elf, could you?”

I recalled the hint Academy Head Mei gave me when I first came here.

This place was once a world fragment used for ranching Grass and Tree Elves, and there seemed to be traces of Grass and Tree Elves left behind here.

”You guessed it so quickly?”

A flash of surprise passed through Big Sis Bai’s eyes, and she admitted it very openly.

”Yeah, this place was once a pasture where the Wizard Academy raised Grass and Tree Elves. Academy Head Mei also hinted to me that there seemed to be Grass and Tree Elves left over here, but I haven’t found any up until now.”

I stood up and came before Big Sis Bai, my eyes full of expectation.

”Let me see I haven’t seen what a Grass and Tree Elf actually looks like yet! Is it the very small kind?”

”It really is the very small kind.”

Big Sis Bai also nodded and opened her hands.

Immediately, a figure suddenly darted out from Big Sis Bai’s palm.

However, even though she was very fast, I still saw her appearance clearly.

It was indeed a tiny creature that was close to fitting human aesthetics, a humanoid creature.

The overall size was about as big as an open hand.

Two pairs of semi-transparent wings like those of a dragonfly fluttered at an extremely high speed.

The instantaneous burst of speed was indeed astonishing.

”This is a Grass and Tree Elf?”

I looked at the elf flying away freely from Big Sis Bai’s hand, a look of wonder flashing in my eyes.

”Are you just going to watch her leave like that, Xiao Han?”

”Yeah Otherwise, if I forcefully grab her, will she obediently listen to me?”

My gaze followed the Grass and Tree Elf as she flew into the air.

I saw from her the same innocent quality I saw in the Fool’s Dream.

But seeing her stop after flying high and turning around to observe us with that pure gaze mixed with curiosity, I knew these Grass and Tree Elves were still a bit... simple-minded.

Being simple-minded is good.

I like creatures like that.

It would be even better if they were cute creatures.

”True. So, Xiao Han, do you plan to let them roam free here? Grass and Tree Elves are natural spirits born from the grass and wood elements. Without human intervention, the time she would need to be born and gather into a group would be very, very long. If that happens, she won’t be able to bring you any benefits or gains; she can only be an ornament you see occasionally.”

”That’s not necessarily the case.”

I looked at this cute little fellow.

If I didn’t have the desire to possess such a cute creature in the depths of my heart, then I would be the one who was sick.

However, many things needed to be done step by step.

Even though the other party was just a simple-minded little Grass and Tree Elf, the Heart Sense perception that belonged to me could still perceive her most primitive emotional expressions.

Or rather, even without using Heart Sense, a little fellow like this simply couldn’t hide anything in her heart.

Even though she had just been caught by Big Sis Bai’s cupped hands, after escaping, her panic was now mostly replaced by curiosity.

This couldn’t help but make me think of a certain foolish roe deer creature.

No wonder such fellows were so easily caught by the wizards and raised in world fragments.

”Come Relax, I have no malice.”

I lightly clapped my hands, using this action to attract the Grass and Tree Elf’s attention, releasing as much of my goodwill as possible.

”She probably can’t understand what you’re saying, right? And... Grass and Tree Elves who haven’t developed social communities don’t have their own language or script,” Big Sis Bai said from the side.

”True,” I shrugged and said.

Then I thought of a spell I possessed—

The Consciousness Communication Spell.

A type of consciousness communication spell that skipped the language level and went straight to the level of understanding.

This kind of spell could even carry out the most primitive form of meaning communication with dream creatures.

I didn’t believe the cognition of this kind of Grass and Tree Elf was harder to communicate with than the illusory and chaotic dream creatures.

”I have no malice. I will not harm you.”

I tried to use the most direct words without too many deep meanings to start communicating with her.

And the other party also seemed to be startled, transmitting an indistinct feedback of alarm.

”It is I who am communicating with you. I have no malice.”

I made hand gestures while coordinating with consciousness communication, attempting to establish the most basic communication channel with her.

”Is it you talking to me?”

At this moment, after the Grass and Tree Elf understood my shallow meaning, she used consciousness communication to respond to me.

Unexpectedly, the meaning she expressed was very clear; she wasn’t the type that couldn’t be communicated with!

”Yes. It seems your communication ability is quite good. I have no malice. Do you want to try chatting a bit?”

I revealed a kind smile and asked.

”I don’t want to... You will enslave me... and that one beside you! She’s the one who caught me!”

The Grass and Tree Elf clearly still held a grudge against Big Sis Bai...

”I will not enslave you. The ones who enslaved you were another group of bad people called wizards. Now those bad people have been driven away, and this heaven and earth belong to me, so I will not enslave you. As for this friend of mine, please let me apologize to you on her behalf. She didn’t do it intentionally.”

”But... but she’s still so scary... there’s a... uh... in short, a very, very scary premonition!”

The Grass and Tree Elf pointed at Bai Yu, still speaking with some lingering fear.

And I looked helplessly at Big Sis Bai.

It seemed that Big Sis Bai’s terrifying level, unique to transcendents, had scared this nature-affinity Grass and Tree Elf even with unintentional pressure.

”She is my friend. She respects my choices, so for my sake, she will not harm you. How about you also become my friend? That way she will also be your friend and won’t harm you. How about it?”

”This... mhm...”

At this moment, it was as if this little Grass and Tree Elf’s little head had short-circuited; for a moment, she couldn’t wrap her mind around it.

After hesitating for a long time, she only managed to squeeze out one sentence.

”Really?”

”Of course it’s true. We plan to build a small temporary house here. If we are friends, I can also help you build a cozy little house here. That way you won’t have to rest in the grass and bushes every day. How about it?”

”Eh? No, no! Building houses... involves cutting down trees! You can’t cut down trees! No, no!”

The Grass and Tree Elf immediately shook her head like a rattle in refusal.

”Don’t worry I won’t cut down the trees in this heaven and earth. We will bring in building materials from outside the world to make our little house,” I hurriedly comforted her.

And I wasn’t joking with those words either.

After all, this world couldn’t withstand too much tossing around.

Building a house really did require cutting down many trees.

Although it was insignificant to the Dungeon World, damage was still damage.

”Look, I’ve even planted a very special tree here. You should be able to feel its vigorous life force, right? How about you make your home in this tree later?”

”This... sniff sniff It’s a tree I’ve never seen before! It’s growing so fast! Um... can I really make my home in this tree?”

This Grass and Tree Elf summoned her courage, stepped forward, and twitched her nose to sniff, as if she had discovered something very incredible.

Only then did she speak and ask.

”Of course But you have to wait for it to grow up. Since you’re willing to make your home here, does that also mean we are friends?”

”Eh? It seems so... Then... we are friends!”
