Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

“This is the place. At this time… they should be about to arrive. There are also several mentors inside. Just say hello when you meet them. They are only doing their own project research here, which doesn’t have much to do with our Self-generating Magic Power project.”

After granting Tan Han the permission to enter this place, I led her to our laboratory.

After all, within this laboratory cluster, it was truly difficult to find a specific spot if only one location was given.

Pushing open the laboratory door, I didn’t say anything like ”I’m back” as if I were returning home.

After all, it was a laboratory; if an accident occurred because of my shouting, that would be an unnecessary loss.

“Big Sis Xiao Han, you’re here.”

However… my appearance still caused several girls closest to me to approach enthusiastically.

“Mhm yes, I brought a new guinea pig over today…”

I said with a smile.

“Oh! I know! I know what you did in the arena, Big Sis Xiao Han. Tan Han, right the ruthless person who challenged a teaching assistant as a lower-grade student and even won twice!”

“Hello, hello I am Cen Tan. I guess we’ll be dealing with each other a lot in the future.”

“Hello, I am Yi Rui. Let’s work hard together here from now on. If you encounter anything, you can come straight to me.”

“Mhm, hello… I am Tan Han. Please take care of me from now on.”

At this moment, Tan Han also introduced herself, but it seemed her name didn’t need much introduction; they spoke as if they already knew her.

Although both sides were a bit reserved for their first meeting, Tan Han’s performance was much better than mine used to be.

“By the way, Senior Yi Rui, I wonder if there is anything I can do to help?”

“You were brought by Xiao Han, so she must have some special arrangements for you. If you feel like you have nothing to do here, you can choose to familiarize yourself with our research results first. After all, you’re joining midway and don’t know exactly what we are doing.”

“Thank you for the reminder, Senior.”

Tan Han nodded, knowing she couldn’t help for the time being.

Then, under Yi Rui’s guidance, she used her Seed of Knowledge to interface with the shared database in the laboratory and learned about where the backup paper documents were kept, and so on.

Incidentally, Yi Rui also briefly summarized the laboratory’s precautions.

However, before understanding these in detail, Tan Han turned her gaze to the other side.

At this moment, I was sorting out the concepts of race and racial bloodlines mentioned in the Great Witch Project.

These two concepts are things that truly exist within the life essence.

This meant that even if a life died and its body completely dissipated, leaving only the soul or soul-substance—the life essence—its race could still be confirmed.

If it were resurrected, the racial bloodline information could be read from the body to reshape the race, the bloodline, and even the physique endowed by the bloodline, and so on.

This made me think of the ”Reincarnation” spellbook I possessed.

Wasn’t its birth like this from the very beginning?

It could modify bodily information to become anyone, modify racial information to become any race, modify bloodline information to obtain various physiques and bloodlines, and even deeply modify memories to change a person from the cognitive level into another person…

This was the original intention when the Reincarnation spell was created, but it was incomplete, to the point where it was still a flawed spellbook that required coordination with various techniques and could only be used by me.

Its actual usage situation was actually just more convenient and free than a Resurrection Spell.

To achieve things beyond resurrection—to ”transmigrate” or be ”reborn”—one needed a large amount of things beyond Resurrection Spell techniques to compensate.

But I soon discovered the limitations of the Reincarnation spell… the effect I expected was simply too heavy for a single spellbook.

It broke a life’s loyalty to its race, it disrupted the natural development of life, and it interfered with a life’s right to continue living as itself.

But were these effects truly impossible to achieve?

Theoretically, they were possible.

However, to fully achieve these things, one would need to do something else, and that was to touch the life essence.

One would have to make fundamental modifications to the life essence; otherwise, simply modifying the shell would be merely treating the symptoms rather than the root cause.

If one did this regardless of the consequences, the result would be either the life essence collapsing because it couldn’t adapt to the race, physique, or bloodline represented by the new shell, or being… assimilated by the racial information, physique, and bloodline represented by the body under a more powerful vessel.

Therefore, in the final analysis, this matter still returned to the life essence.

Things like race and bloodline… from a theoretical perspective, were not things that couldn’t be touched, but the price of touching them was simply too great and uncontrollable.

Thus, they belonged to the taboos of life.

And I had unconsciously touched such a profound field without even knowing it… mainly because the means I possessed didn’t match my own cognition.

Floating World-level Spirit Vision allowed me to reach deeper into fields that others could not interfere with or perceive from the very beginning.

The data acquisition of the Great Tree of Knowledge allowed me to more fully utilize the data obtained by Spirit Vision.

The Consciousness Firewall allowed me to more easily harness Spirit Vision without causing cognitive damage to myself as before; moreover, its inherent abilities were also extremely heaven-defying.

The extremely high foundation of self-awakened body cultivation brought my understanding of the living body to a terrifying level, and its root was structured upon the life essence.

Therefore, it also gave me a special way to understand what life essence truly was.

Furthermore, I had unconsciously walked the path of the Great Project of the Soul, and my instinctive cognition of the soul—which is the life essence—was also extremely deep.

Each of these abilities and corresponding means could allow anyone to achieve great things, and when put together in my hands, simply touching the taboos of life essence… seemed almost childish.

And while I was thinking, Tan Han carefully approached.

“Mhm? Is there something wrong?”

Seeing Tan Han walking toward me, I asked with some confusion.

After all, after leading Tan Han to the laboratory, I saw her getting along well with Yi Rui and the others, so I went to attend to my own business.

I thought Yi Rui and the others had already started having Tan Han cooperate with their research.

After all, their ten-times base Magic Power Source resonance method had not yet reached the ten thousand upper limit; with Tan Han’s joining, it should be more successful.

As for why I speculated it would be more successful… that was because Tan Han herself was a Child of Destiny!

The concept of a Child of Destiny is itself a mechanism for utilizing destiny, only the Child of Destiny themselves is ”clamped” by the script and the world consciousness.

Of course, this way of saying it is just my own understanding, but the final result is that the Child of Destiny, Tan Han, will unconsciously play an invisible role in promoting things that are beneficial to her.

This was also one of the reasons why I was very optimistic about Tan Han in the beginning.

As for using her for promotion and other roles, that was her value to me.

Her ability to push the experimental process was her value to the experiment, but the success or failure of this experiment didn’t have much impact on me.

I was just like I said before; I was doing this experiment only to more deeply understand what Self-generating Magic Power was.

And Tan Han could not help me understand what Self-generating Magic Power truly was.

She would only help the progress of the experiment, always choosing the most correct path unconsciously, arriving at the final result step by step.

“I wonder what I can do to help in this laboratory?”

Tan Han stated her question under my inquiry.

“Just now I saw you connect to our research data sharing library. You can first understand what Self-generating Magic Power is, and then understand how we achieve it. You don’t need a deep understanding, but you should know the most elementary logic.”

“Just… these?”

Tan Han was very confident about this.

If there was detailed data recorded, she felt her comprehension ability was up to par.

“Ask my clones over there if you encounter questions you don’t understand. Try not to disturb those who are busy.”

I pointed to the clones that looked exactly like me to the side.

“Those… I understand.”

Tan Han looked at the clones over there.

Just now when she was looking for Xiao Han, she almost went to them.

Luckily, she also knew that Xiao Han had clones; otherwise, she would have embarrassed herself.

“Oh, I almost forgot. Looking at those materials is actually a very boring thing. If you have nothing to do, you can ask Yi Rui and the others to help you try the Witchified Body Cultivation Method. I think they really need you to cooperate with them in this kind of experiment.”

“Witchified Body Cultivation Method? What is that?”

“You can understand it as a transcendent power system in the form of body cultivation. It is a prerequisite cultivation condition for obtaining the physical talent of Self-generating Magic Power. We are currently perfecting the structure of this system and need a large number of experimenters to conduct cultivation experiments and summarize successful experiences.”

So now, I only had to wait for Yi Rui and the others to completely perfect the upper limit of the Witch-transformation Reconstruction Metamorphic Spell cultivation, while I continued to perfect the Self-generating Magic Power construction ritual to structure the integrity of the Witchified Body Cultivation Method system, and then it would be almost finished.

And the problem encountered previously, which was the so-called ”Self-generating Magic Power” lacking a foundation of self-awakened body cultivation—how to determine a foothold on the life essence.

I was also hurrying to solve this problem.

Now I had a theoretical understanding of the racial concepts and bloodline information within the Great Witch Project.

Next, I needed to carry out practical coordination and exploration.

“So I also need to practice this Witchified Body Cultivation Method now, right?”

“Yes, but this is different from ordinary body cultivation methods. Its cultivation threshold is very high, and its prerequisite requirements are also very high. If you cannot accept it, I won’t force you. So before you try, I require you to understand exactly what we are doing. In essence, it’s helping you remove cognitive boundaries.”

After all, an ordinary person could not accept the necessary ”sacrifices” at the very beginning of the Self-generating Magic Power project experiments, thinking that it was using ”human lives” to build success, but in essence, this was not the case.

Seeing through the concept of death was the threshold for this experiment to proceed at the beginning.

Even if the threshold for the Witchified Body Cultivation Method no longer requires death but instead involves ”metamorphosis,” many ordinary people who hold onto the idea that life is untouchable still cannot accept it.

Although I didn’t think Tan Han was such a person, inner prejudices and discomfort are also things that need to be eliminated.

“Is that so? Then alright.”

Tan Han nodded.

Perhaps she still didn’t understand how heavy the experiment currently being conducted was, but she still chose to accept it.

“If there is anything needed, you can call me directly. I will actively cooperate.”

Although Tan Han knew she couldn’t help much, she still said this in the end.

“Mhm. You can go to that place behind the laboratory and open an independent, sealed experimental room. That place can provide you with a good reading experience.”

After giving Tan Han one last suggestion, I threw myself back into my own world.

What I urgently needed to understand now was the problem of the witch racial concept and bloodline information.

And this naturally could not be separated from the so-called ”Witchification” problem.

It could be said that the Great Witch Project, from beginning to end, was a circle.

This was a kind of… ”feeling” generated after I had a complete understanding of this Great Project.

There was a sense of powerlessness where concepts like ”Magic Power,” ”Magic Power Source,” ”Self-generating Magic Power,” ”Witchification,” and so on were structured by each other and served as each other’s fulcrums.

It was as if one could push from any node toward any direction or branch, but it certainly had a primal fulcrum at the beginning.

But now… with the appearance of other sub-projects, the primal fulcrum had been weakened, or rather, assimilated.

The order of priority could no longer be divided by their functions, but only by concepts could one distinguish who structured whom first.

Just like Magic Power, which gave birth to Magic Power Source condensation techniques; conceptually, Magic Power existed first, and then the Magic Power Source.

But from the perspective of function, the two could be derived from each other.

Perhaps the question I was pursuing could only be answered by that ”Primal Witch.”

I felt this was a bit unrealistic…

Instead of such delusions, it was better to be down-to-earth.

I glanced over and saw that Yi Rui and her group were still busy, so I didn’t disturb them.

I went back to my old trade; if I wanted to conduct an experiment, I would use myself directly.

As for what to experiment on… naturally, I would use myself as a sample to observe the foundation of ”life essence” structuring ”Self-generating Magic Power,” and to more deeply explore the deep-seated changes brought to me by Witchification.

The main reason for doing this was to explore my own witch racial characteristics and bloodline information.

It was just that I was not yet a Transcendent Witch, so I urgently needed to understand exactly what the mechanism of this transformation was.

Perhaps this could reveal the operating method of Witchification.

And while deep explorations were continuously being conducted here at our laboratory, the new semester of the academy also began.

The first class for the newcomers did not just involve class meetings and the signing of contracts like in previous years; there was also another important procedure.

That was the distribution of Seeds of Knowledge, as well as teaching basic usage methods.

With the start of a new batch and the update of teaching equipment, the curriculum teaching that newcomers needed to receive also needed to keep pace with the times.

Of course, the most basic ”Witch Meditation Method” was absolutely something that could not be discarded.

But regarding the contact and application of transcendent power, as well as the explanation and guidance of principles, the Witch Academy had already begun to move these more important things forward to this stage for explanation.

For students in the past, the first-year courses were just for the popularization of transcendent common knowledge.

But now… common knowledge popularization, transcendent application, and interest development were all placed in the same stage.

This was a theoretical attempt.

As long as there were no major problems, this attempt would become a teaching norm.

And afterward, the lower-grade students would welcome a stage of massive combat power explosion.

After all, in the past, the combat power of lower-grade students… truly belonged to the situation where the drought-stricken died of thirst and the flooded died of water; it depended on individual ability and allocation issues.

But now with the power network, everyone was treated equally.

At least within the territory of the Witch Academy, the power everyone mastered was equal.

As long as power was equal, students would pursue things beyond power.

This was an attempt currently being conducted by the Witch Academy.

Similarly, this was also a distinction between mediocre people and geniuses.

Mediocre people would settle for the existing power, while geniuses would not be limited by the teaching tools before them but would instead chase after more far-reaching things.
