Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

On the way to the experimental area.

“Hmm… no, as expected, I should still integrate this mechanism of the Self-Sealing Spell into the Consciousness Firewall.”

While I was pondering the key issues, I was once again interrupted by the kind of thoughts I shared with Big Sis Bai.

This made me realize that my control over memory and cognition was still somewhat lagging behind for myself.

Although I could always control myself to stay in that “sage” mode of suppressed desire, this physical state also destroyed the divergence of specific thinking.

Therefore, I thought about the issue of perfecting the Consciousness Firewall within the Great Tree of Knowledge.

Originally, this Consciousness Firewall was used to guard against those tainted data and knowledge, as well as the impact of massive amounts of information on my cognition.

However, this firewall hadn’t been used many times up until now, so I prepared to expand it further.

After experiencing a few days of living in a state of “memory loss,” I found that the presence or absence of specific memories had a great impact on a person’s cognition, state, mood, and emotions.

So I was wondering if the firewall of the Great Tree of Knowledge could help me filter specific memories to secondary-screen for my desired state.

I thought this idea was quite good, especially since the firewall of the Great Tree of Knowledge itself was a derivative application built upon the Self-Sealing Spell.

“Note this idea in the memo well, I’ll talk about it next time when the Great Tree of Knowledge continues to be perfected.”

Life was always like this; wonderful ideas and inspirations could come at any time and place, but life had to be lived with a plan.

Just like now, I had made an appointment to meet Tan Han here at the experimental area, and I had already arrived early.

“I seem to have arrived a bit early… I hope Tan Han is also the type to arrive early.”

I checked the time and found that even though I had walked over on my own two legs, I was still quite a bit earlier than the appointed time.

“Maybe I should leave a teleportation marker and go to the lab first…”

I looked around and found that there seemed to be no sign of anyone; it looked like Tan Han wouldn’t appear for a while.

But just as I was about to go in, I didn’t know if it was my hallucination, but I saw a figure appear under a tree not far away, and I happened to catch the other party’s gaze.

In the next moment, her figure vanished from the spot and appeared right in front of me.

“Uh…”

Facing this suddenly appearing figure, I subconsciously prepared to offer a greeting out of politeness, but after seeing the other party’s appearance, my eyes instantly widened!

Because this witch, who looked like a mentor, actually matched the witch in my knowledge!

Serina Palitzer… the Academy Head!

“You… you are Academy Head Serina?!”

This witch, whom I recognized as the third Academy Head, didn’t immediately answer my question.

Instead, she reached out her hand, dangling an extremely exquisite decorative pendant in front of me.

“This is your Dungeon World, keep it well.”

“This…”

I stared with wide eyes as Academy Head Serina handed a tiny pendant to me.

If she hadn’t explicitly stated that this was the so-called Dungeon World, I wouldn’t have been able to associate this with that previous world fragment at all.

That previous world fragment sealed with sorcery was at least taller than a person, but this one now was only as big as a bead, and it had even been thoughtfully made into a pendant!

Its central structure was like a celestial chaotic pendulum, with several circles of varying sizes surrounding it, moving regularly according to axes of different angles, and the more central part looked like a shrunken continent.

“Take it, this is the Dungeon World Mei asked me to refine for you. It’s been a while since I’ve made such an exquisite little thing; I’m only giving it to you now that school has started.”

“Thank… thank you, Big Sis Serina!”

I took the Dungeon World and hurriedly spoke to thank her.

“Calling me Big Sis… huh, then call me that.”

Serina froze slightly, then she also revealed a smile, but this smile didn’t seem to be one of joy, but rather a sense of casualness.

“Are you going to the lab… to conduct research on Self-generating Magic Power?”

“Yes, is Big Sis Serina also interested in this?”

I hurriedly nodded and asked.

“This is not a field I am skilled in.”

Serina shook her head and said, “How is your progress now? Do you have a clue?”

“Progress… it should be considered the late stage. What we lack now is the first successful case other than me, but I believe the probability of success is quite high.”

Of course, saying it this way was actually considered a very humble way of putting it; saying it was a sure thing wouldn’t be an exaggeration.

“Has it already reached this stage…”

Serina’s voice sounded like she was talking to herself, not asking me, then she looked at me and solemnly asked another question, “Why are you so persistent in promoting this ability? You could have owned this advantage yourself and spent more time on your own improvement.”

“This…”

“Because Xiao Han is spontaneously walking on the path of a witch’s Truth Offering, which is a realm you old fossils will never be able to reach.”

Just as Serina Palitzer was waiting for my response, another voice abruptly drifted over.

And upon hearing this voice, Serina Palitzer’s gaze narrowed slightly.

However, I recognized who the owner of this voice was—it was that Anti-Witch, Cheryl!

“While you walk on the path opened up for you by the Truth Witch, you selfishly advise others not to be such fools. This is the reason why you will never reach, or even touch, the realm of the Truth Witch!”

“That is not what I meant.”

Unexpectedly, Serina Palitzer didn’t get angry; instead, she was defending the most “insignificant” doubt in the whole process.

“If that wasn’t what you meant, then what could it be? Being able to ask such a question… is enough to prove that you don’t have the answer to this question in your heart. Otherwise, why would you, an Academy Head, personally run over to ask a lesser witch face-to-face?”

Cheryl remained relentless, as if she weren’t afraid of this Academy Head in front of her at all.

“Uh… that… actually this isn’t a very serious problem, right? I just want to more deeply understand what Self-generating Magic Power really is, that’s all…”

At this moment, I hurriedly spoke up to explain.

Although I wasn’t quite sure why this Anti-Witch dared to retort against an Academy Head like this, I felt that if this continued… the atmosphere would become extremely oppressive!

“Look what a simple answer, ‘I just want to more deeply understand Self-generating Magic Power.’ This spirit of seeking, despite one’s lack of ability, is also a trait you lack.”

Cheryl repeated my words from just now, mimicking my tone, and retorted against Academy Head Serina again.

I was stunned watching from the side…

Was Academy Head Serina’s temper this good?

This forced me to re-examine this witch who called herself an Anti-Witch; her existence seemed to be even more terrifying than I had imagined!

But thinking about the group corresponding to Anti-Witches for a bit, it didn’t seem too outrageous.

After all, a witch who could be an Anti-Witch… at least in terms of strength, that went without saying.

“This should be considered our first meeting, right? I didn’t expect you to also be a shut-in witch? You aren’t deliberately hiding from me, right?”

At this point, Cheryl’s tone shifted, losing the highly targeted manner from just before.

“I suppose so…”

Serina Palitzer said, though her words were very ambiguous.

It was unclear if she was responding to whether she was a shut-in witch, or responding to whether she was deliberately hiding from her.

But none of that was important anymore.

Clearly, Academy Head Serina had no desire to continue chatting with Cheryl.

“Leave a contact method. It’s also my first time coming to this Main World; I’m quite interested in you.”

“That won’t be necessary. I don’t want to be remembered by an Anti-Witch yet.”

“If you don’t give it, I really will be remembering you every single moment, you know?”

“……”

After Cheryl finished speaking, Serina simply stopped responding.

I didn’t know if she was rendered speechless, but most likely she was.

Then she threw out something like a business card as a compromise.

Before I could see clearly what form of contact information was on that card, it was caught by Cheryl in one go, but before she could even say thanks, Serina Palitzer’s figure vanished.

“Eh? Such a sore loser?”

Cheryl complained, then she reached out and lightly stroked the position where the other had left, “Tsk… even the space has been smoothed out. She left so cleanly.”

I watched from the side, speechless.

This was the first time I had seen an Academy Head of the Witch Academy being rendered so speechless that she finally left without saying goodbye.

I hoped Academy Head Serina Palitzer wouldn’t take the resentment of meeting this Anti-Witch out on my head… after all, she only encountered this Anti-Witch because she was delivering this Dungeon World to me.

Thinking of this, I subconsciously glanced at the Dungeon World in my hand.

I naturally still remembered that this thing couldn’t be put into storage equipment, so I had no choice but to tie it to my body, incidentally making a spell marker to prevent myself from not knowing if I accidentally dropped it.

“Xiao Han, we will meet again.”

Cheryl saw that the person had left, but I was still there, so she turned her attention to me.

“Hi… hi, Big Sis Cheryl.”

At this point, I forced a greeting, then I struggled with whether I should call Big Sis Bai over.

Although I had an agreement with Big Sis Bai to contact her if I met this Anti-Witch again, this person wasn’t even afraid of the Academy Head… could Big Sis Bai really handle her?

“Looking at your expression, you seem very surprised? You don’t even say thank you when I helped clear things up for you?”

“Uh… thank you?”

I helplessly cooperated and said.

Although I didn’t think this was what she called clearing things up, I also didn’t want to continue looking into this matter right now.

Since I couldn’t afford to offend her, I would compromise first.

And if I really looked into it, this Cheryl might even be under suspicion of stalking me, otherwise I wouldn’t believe she would appear so coincidentally.

“Haha just kidding, no need to say thank you. Actually, I just wanted to meet that Academy Head once. It would be a pity to have been in this Main World for so long without meeting once.”

Cheryl explained with a smile, then her gaze fell upon the Dungeon World in my hand, “Is this the Dungeon World refined from that world fragment they blackmailed from the Wizard Academy?”

“Yes.”

“Geez it seems they are quite good to you after all then I’ll give you a good thing too.”

While Cheryl spoke, she pulled out something.

“This… this is! That!”

I looked at the crystal currently held in Cheryl’s hand; I recognized exactly what it was with just one glance.

This was the one used by that teaching assistant named April who fought Tan Han back then… the Frozen World!

“Oh? You recognize it?”

“How… how did it end up with you?”

I asked subconsciously.

“I naturally had to ask for it that a witch named Chris wouldn’t want this thing, and that teaching assistant April, she isn’t qualified to own this, so it ended up in my hands. Here it’s for you.”

“But… Big Sis Cheryl should understand, I don’t need this either, right?”

“Do you really not need it? Or are you just concerned that this thing is bound to Destiny?”

Cheryl asked with a smile.

“……”

I was naturally concerned about the connection between this thing and Destiny.

Moreover, I still didn’t know what this thing was actually used for.

“If I said this [Transcendent Knowledge] has already become redundancy within the world script… oh?”

Cheryl wanted to continue saying something, but suddenly she seemed to have sensed something and looked up, “Sigh it looks like the person you have an appointment with has arrived. Forget it anyway, you might not believe it if I say it now, let’s talk about it next time.”

After Cheryl finished speaking, ignoring my reaction, she directly tossed that “Frozen World” to me, then she also vanished just like the Academy Head.

“This…”

I looked at this “ice crystal” in my hand, not quite knowing what to do.

But very quickly, I knew who the person Cheryl mentioned was.

The person arriving was none other than Tan Han; she was currently rushing over from afar on her broom.

“She could sense it precisely from so far away…”

I was slightly surprised, but in the end, I still put the Frozen World [Transcendent Knowledge] fragment away.

Since I already had two Hearts of Cold Tide, having one more actually counted as having so much debt that I didn’t need to worry about it.

However, I was actually quite concerned about the words the Anti-Witch Cheryl hadn’t finished saying just now.

It was truly frustrating for her to deliberately cut off right there; she definitely knew something, but just wouldn’t say it.

What kind of reason was Tan Han’s arrival?

So I had ample reason to suspect… that Cheryl might hope for me to achieve a third Grand Spellbook?

After all… she seemed somewhat persistent about me becoming a Truth Witch, but making baseless speculations was meaningless.

Who knows… maybe one day I’ll give all these things to Tan Han in one go?

Actually, I was still quite looking forward to what would happen when these [Transcendent Knowledge] fragments were all gathered together.

“Tan Han over here.”

Seeing that Tan Han was about to crash straight into the spatial barrier of the experimental area, I also hurriedly waved my hand to signal her to come this way.

If Tan Han accidentally crashed into the spatial maze, that would be quite a sight…

“I’m here… sorry, am I late? I kept you waiting…”

Tan Han came down from the high sky, lightly straightened her skirt, and hurriedly said.

“It’s fine, it’s still a bit earlier than the appointed time, so it’s okay. However, I still need to remind you that this area of the experimental zone has overlapping spatial barriers. If you force your way in without permission, you will fall into another layer of the spatial maze, so you still have to be careful.”

“So there’s such a taboo? It’s lucky you came relatively early, Xiao Han.”

“It’s fine. It’ll be okay after I grant you permission. Let’s go, I’ll take you to the lab to meet some seniors. They are all pure scholars; I hope you can get along well with them.”
