Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 757:

Meeting Tan Han Again

“So this stand in the Myriad Connection Arena was actually prepared for guests like this?”

Following behind me, Ying Shiqian arrived at a spot with an excellent view of the entire arena and subsequently let out such a sigh of admiration.

Not only was the field of vision here extremely good, but from the perspective of the entire viewing stand, it was also the second most eye-catching angle for the audience, second only to the arena stage itself.

The high-EQ way of putting it is that it highlights the distinguished status of special guests, while the low-EQ way is likely just telling the people in the general spectator area that the people sitting here have extraordinary identities.

Therefore, after I brought Ying Shiqian here led by a professional guide, the breathing of some people in certain sections of the viewing area who recognized me instantly hitched.

My gaze looked toward the field and then swept over the stands; the space inside the arena was indeed different from my previous impressions.

Looking up here, one could see the giant canopy belonging to the Myriad Connection Main Network Tree.

And compared to such a massive venue, the number of people did not seem very large—at least compared to the overcrowded appearance during previous confrontation competitions and exchange matches, it was pitifully small.

However, school had only just started; a significant number of students had only just returned from off-campus, some were newly enrolled first-year girls, and another portion of people spent their time and energy on the market and club recruitment.

Even so, this arena could still gather so many people; one could imagine the level of intensity here.

However, many of the people here were actually not current students, but belonged to the category of graduates who were still lingering within the Witch Academy.

This type of graduate might be holding a retirement mindset, living a life without worries about food or clothing in the Witch Academy, while some still held hope for advancing to Transcendent Witches and were still continuously striving forward.

And a place like the arena was a good spot for these people to pass the time, whether by becoming a challenger on the battle stage or becoming a spectator in the audience.

But amidst the vast crowd, I quickly locked onto some special groups of people.

Although the distance was already quite far—even spanning the entire arena to reach the opposite side—Body Cultivation perception was, to a certain extent, even more comprehensive than Mental Power perception.

I didn’t know what those people were doing, but I knew that those people instinctively became nervous after recognizing me.

“May I ask if you need any other services?”

“Thanks, no need.”

I waved my hand, indicating I didn’t need anything.

“But I have another question to ask. Can I go to the upcoming participants’ area to see someone, Tan Han? Is that okay?”

“This... my apologies... in principle, it’s not allowed...”

Hearing my question, this guide spoke with a slight hesitation.

“In principle... so how can I see her then?”

I continued to inquire.

Regarding the so-called principles of these people, do they really have principles?

“In principle, no one can disturb the participants for no reason, especially those about to go on stage. However, we are clear about your friendly relationship with that participant Tan Han, so we will go there to inquire with participant Tan Han. If participant Tan Han is willing to see you, then it will naturally be easy for us. If she refuses... then we would truly be very sorry...”

“I see, that’s fine.”

Leaving the choice to Tan Han was also the most appropriate way.

After all, even for a very special guest, it was impossible to break the rules of the arena here, but they had their own methods; if Tan Han herself requested to see a friend she knew, then naturally it wouldn’t count as violating the rules.

“Then I will go to the participants’ area to inquire about the situation for you. Please wait for a while.”

As this guide left, only Ying Shiqian and I remained here.

“Ah this service is true... this time I’ve finally benefited from your light, Little Han. I never expected to come here to watch a match.”

Senior Ying Shiqian was actually very excited, a complete extreme from her sleepy appearance back at the club recruitment earlier.

She even arrived here without her butt touching the seat many times; she spent all her time at the edge of the viewing platform, enjoying the best view.

“It’s just temporary convenience brought by status and strength, Senior Ying Shiqian. Do you have any views on Tan Han’s match this time?”

“Eh? Me? Views? I’m just a spectator. I’m not very proficient in combat either, but I think Tan Han will win again this time!”

“Intuition?”

“Yes, a woman’s intuition!”

Ying Shiqian said with a smile.

“Then does Senior Ying Shiqian think... what exactly is the purpose of those people constantly challenging Tan Han? Since they have been challenging her, that means Tan Han has never lost, right?”

“It must be for the Wand of Absolute Cold; otherwise, what else could it be for?”

“Is that so?”

I shrugged and didn’t deny this statement.

The Wand of Absolute Cold was just a gimmick.

Within the Witch Academy, a persistent Destiny node had already formed.

Although everyone realized the existence of Destiny and knew the arrangements of the Script, what of it?

Could the so-called “knowing” not also be a part of the Script?

Even for me, with such a deep understanding of Destiny and even having severed the Earth Vein Chains, I would still often be pushed forward by Destiny.

Therefore, everyone here formed a massive Script event, pushing Tan Han, this Child of Destiny, to continuously undergo trials.

Was this not also a link in the growth of a Child of Destiny?

And my basis for inferring this conclusion was that Tan Han, through being continuously challenged, was constantly growing, to the point where she was enough to confront opponents at the Teaching Assistant level.

If it were just her alone, confronting so many Teaching Assistants, clubs, and senior students, she definitely wouldn’t be able to withstand the methods of those people.

Therefore, while others were seeking to oppose Tan Han, the value Tan Han displayed should also have caused many people to secretly back her up.

After all, if a person has value, then people who maintain her will inevitably appear.

And the first to stand up was actually the shop manager, and on the surface, it was also the shop manager alone who was backing her up.

When a person displays their own value, it will polarize the people around them into two opposing groups.

Malice and goodwill.

In the current situation Tan Han was trapped in, to break the situation in a way favorable to her, she needed to continuously grow and digest the influence brought to her by the Wand of Absolute Cold.

She had to let it reach a point where even if she lost the Wand of Absolute Cold, her own value would still be worth the group releasing goodwill toward her continuing to help her.

For Tan Han, this was a long-term “Main Script Line,” because she couldn’t leap to becoming so powerful without accumulation and the precipitation of time, so the special side-lines interspersed within were the key to her rise.

Of course, this was merely my guess.

Moreover, this guess was also built on the foundation that Tan Han would ultimately lose those external items.

What if her Script was to transform the Wand of Absolute Cold into a Grand Spellbook and make it a part of her own strength?

But if that were the case... what could be said about the Ancient Glacial Ice Transformation Spell?

Under the interference of Destiny, Tan Han should have held onto it tightly, instead of it eventually being handed over by her own hands to that girl named Xiao You after a series of maneuvers.

Sending it out with one’s own hands and having it snatched by someone else were two different concepts.

At that time, Destiny had ample room to transform the relationship between Tan Han and Xiao You into an antagonistic one, but the final result was that it didn’t.

Therefore, on the level of Destiny, the Ancient Glacial Ice Transformation Spell did not belong to Tan Han.

In the early stage, this transformation spell undoubtedly brought a huge increase in combat power to Tan Han.

Even now, there were no means that could phase out a Super Consumption Spellbook.

If this spellbook had no special meaning, there was no need to go to such great lengths; simply use it, and that’s it.

It was just a tool.

“Little Han, you think those people didn’t come for the Wand of Absolute Cold?”

At this time, Ying Shiqian followed up with an inquiry, her tone carrying a bit of uncertainty.

“Have more confidence, Senior Ying Shiqian. I just asked ’Is that so?’, so there’s no need to think too much.”

I looked at Ying Shiqian and spoke with a smile.

I didn’t intend to continue this topic either.

Sometimes, thinking too much about things like the Script is actually nothing more than meaningless thoughts; any of its occurrences can be explained by coincidence.

When this kind of coincidence is given a certain meaning, it is a Script; if not given meaning, it is nothing more than an experience.

“By the way, Senior Ying Shiqian, do you really like watching these kinds of practical combat confrontations in the arena?”

“Of course.”

“Then has Senior Ying Shiqian ever thought about going on stage?”

“Me? Going on stage? Better forget that didn’t I just say I’m not very proficient in combat?”

Ying Shiqian also hurriedly waved her hands.

“Being brave enough to try a bit can easily open the door to a new world.”

I said with a smile, then also rose and came to the guardrail in front, standing side by side with Ying Shiqian.

“Better forget it... I’m just an unaccomplished, mediocre person like this, already starting to enjoy a life of eating and waiting for death.”

Saying this, Ying Shiqian seemed to realize what she said wasn’t very good, and her tone weakened.

“Saying it like that... Little Han, will you feel it’s terrible to know someone like me?”

“Not at all. If everyone would follow my expectations and do the things I hoped for, I would find that to be an even worse world.”

These words were an expression of my own feelings, but there was actually a next sentence: in a world where no one would change according to my expectations for no reason, the fact that I can manage to make someone willing to do a certain thing is what gives a sense of accomplishment.

“True everyone has their own way of living. In fact, I’ve even thought about my own way of dying. Little Han, by that time, you’ll probably already be a Transcendent Witch, right? Will you come to attend my funeral?”

“I should, and I’ll also bring a cake from Senior Tang Yihan to place before your grave by the way. You shouldn’t mind, right?”

“Eh?! Who wants her cake! I’m definitely going to live longer than that fellow!”

“That might not be the case. After all, every time she finishes a new product, aren’t you the one to taste it first?”

I asked back with a smile.

“Tsk... actually can’t refute that... if I’m poisoned to death by her one day, wouldn’t that mean she really might put her cake on my grave!”

“Wait, why are you getting serious from such a strange angle?”

And... if Tang Yihan really invented a cake that made it so even the Resurrection Spell couldn’t take effect after eating, then that would count as a genius.

What was supposed to be a heavy topic like death had now conversely become a bit more cheerful.

But... I actually quite hoped all the people I knew would advance to Transcendent Witches, including Ying Shiqian, but I wouldn’t force anything.

While Senior Ying Shiqian and I were chatting aimlessly like this, the guide who had left earlier also returned again.

“Apologies for the interruption. Participant Tan Han has agreed; she is currently waiting for you in the participants’ area.”

“It looks like I have to leave here first.”

I turned around to look at this guide.

“Let’s go, we can’t keep Tan Han waiting for too long.”

“So fast? The efficiency is really high.”

Ying Shiqian also hurriedly followed.

After leaving the spectator area, we followed the walkway and entered the interior of the arena.

After some tossing around, we finally arrived at the participants’ area.

Through some perception, the participants’ area seemed to be located below the arena.

The ways of appearing on stage were also different for different areas; for example, the most common way was to appear from one side of the field.

Additionally, there was the type that reached the match field directly through a lifting elevator, but obviously, this more stylish way of appearing was not something just anyone could enjoy.

However... Tan Han was not among them.

Her opponent was an existence at the Teaching Assistant level; battles of this level would attract many people to watch every time.

After pushing open the door to the participants’ preparation area, the internal environment presented itself to me visually, and Tan Han was right here.

“Long time no see, Tan Han.”

The Tan Han standing before me had much less of the previous flippancy compared to before and more of a certain steadiness.

Perhaps because it was an enclosed area underground, there was also a somewhat gloomy and stifling atmosphere here; no matter how bright the interior design was, it couldn’t disperse that kind of oppression.

At this time, Tan Han seemed to still be in the pre-match stage.

The clothes on her body were very light, and they were all the very form-fitting type, outlining her figure to the fullest.

Large patches of skin were just exposed like that, seemingly waiting to finally put on her exclusive combat uniform.

But even so, I remained unmoved.

In my eyes, Tan Han couldn’t stir even a hint of desire; I only saw the scars on Tan Han’s body.

I didn’t believe that in the Witch Academy, students would still have things like scars left behind, and the only reason they remained could only be... the body’s owner proactively left them there.

“Little Han, it’s indeed been a while since we met. I didn’t expect you would actually come here.”

Tan Han also spoke following my words, her tone very normal, just like meeting a friend she hadn’t seen for a long time.

But through Heart Sense, I could feel the kind of... exhaustion originating from her heart.

“School has started. I’m taking this opportunity to give myself a holiday.”

I said with a shrug.

“But seriously, the scars on your body are a bit ugly.”

“Is that so?”

Tan Han was slightly stunned, not expecting my first sentence upon arriving to mention this matter.

These scars were left during match after match, acting as a lesson and reminder for every one of my mistakes. Their existence has meaning.”

“Don’t be so eager to prove to me whether they have meaning or not sometimes... the more you emphasize something, the more you lack it.”

I said with a smile, not stating my opinion as bluntly as I used to, as I also had my own growth.

“......”

“Shop Manager Xia Li, you’re here too, and you.”

Seeing Tan Han being silenced by my words, I had no choice but to shift the topic elsewhere.

As I looked elsewhere, the first person I saw was Shop Manager Xia Li.

And the one whose name I didn’t mention was Xiao You, the one who took away Tan Han’s Ancient Glacial Ice.

The fact that she could still follow Tan Han in this place showed that her relationship with Tan Han was indeed extraordinary.

“Little Han... I... I didn’t expect you to come.”

The shop manager also seemed a bit uncomfortable speaking at this moment.

“I ran into Senior Ying Shiqian at the club recruitment and learned about your situation along the way, so I came over. For such a big thing to happen without even mentioning it to me, the shop manager really doesn’t treat me as a member of the Bakery Club.”

“My apologies... Little Han.”

Xia Li spoke in an apologetic tone, but she was still a bit moved by my phrase ”a member of the Bakery Club.”

“This matter is mainly the business of me and Little Tan. If you were involved, it would cause you a lot of trouble... anyway, aren’t you the one who hates trouble the most?”

“That also depends on the situation.”

Like when I’m very idle right now.
