The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Chapter 350: Chapter 349: Another Lucky Spin the Wheel

Chen Xinwei listened to this and recalled carefully.

Isn’t the owner of Zhongxiang Restaurant Che Yuhang?

Che Yuhang has already opened four stores. Is he expanding his business territory again?

Gao Chao?

I’ve never heard of such an up-and-comer in the circle?

But if Che Yuhang has taken a liking to him, then this Gao Chao must be very outstanding.

Hopefully, he has genuine skills, and his culinary skills are indeed exquisite, because just the name of Zhongxiang Restaurant alone is quite impressive.

But... the chef from Qianlima?

Who could it be? To be invited back to participate in the school celebration, they must have graduated from the culinary school...

A figure suddenly flashed in Chen Xinwei’s mind.

The chef from Qianlima?

Could it possibly be Fu Yu?

Graduated from culinary school, young, talented in cooking, skilled in both pastry and hot dishes.

The more he thought about it, the more it matched Fu Yu.

Chen Xinwei asked, ”The chef from Qianlima, are you talking about Fu Yu?”

Director Chen was listening and was taken aback by the question.

Why suddenly ask about Fu Yu?

The person he mainly mentioned was clearly Gao Chao!

But...

He suddenly remembered.

Chen Xinwei had previously participated in the Master Chef Competition, he must have seen Fu Yu back then.

Director Chen quickly said, ”Yes, it’s Fu Yu from Qianlima! Brother, what do you think of his cooking skills?”

But instead of answering, Chen Xinwei asked, ”Did Fu Yu agree to cook on stage?”

Director Chen nodded, ”Yes, he agreed.”

Over there, Chen Xinwei clearly breathed a sigh of relief, ”Fu Yu agreed, then it’s all good.”

”I’ll hurry over there too, if there’s anything where I can be of use, we’ll talk then. But with Fu Yu there, it should be no problem!”

Director Chen was stunned.

No, what kind of situation is this?

This Fu Yu... could he actually be quite impressive?

...

When Chen Xinwei arrived, Fu Yu had already changed into his outfit along with Gao Chao.

Director Chen pulled them aside and advised repeatedly, ”When you get on stage, just follow Teacher Qiu’s guidance and put your heart into it.”

Gao Chao nodded and said, ”Of course, Director Chen, don’t worry, I will definitely take this cooking performance seriously.”

Director Chen looked at Fu Yu again.

Earlier, in a rush, he hadn’t looked carefully. Now, upon examining closely, he realized this guy seemed to be even more handsome!

Even though it was an ordinary school uniform, on him it looked like bespoke designer wear, simple and elegant.

Because of the previous conversation with Chen Xinwei, Director Chen dared not underestimate Fu Yu, and sincerely said, ”Chef Fu, the cooking performance depends on you!”

The next second, an electronic notification sound suddenly rang in Fu Yu’s ears:

[Ding! Task from NPC Director: Successfully complete the cooking performance. Task Reward: One chance at the Lucky Spin Wheel]

Fu Yu heard it and was delighted.

The lucky spin wheel again!

Can’t wait to see what nice things he might win this time!

But with such a generous reward, it seems the walnut bun and golden crispy pork must be quite complex to make!

Before going on stage, Fu Yu quickly took the time to glance over the recipes for these two dishes from the classic old flavors cookbook.

The method for the walnut bun is indeed quite intricate.

But this golden crispy pork...

It is basically the little crispy pork from regular restaurants!

And this crispy pork, it’s gotta be said, is honestly a task requiring zero skill.

The cooking method isn’t difficult, as long as you control the heat, even regular people can easily make it at home.

There’s nothing to learn about little crispy pork, Fu Yu focused on memorizing the cooking method for the walnut bun.

After they were prepared, Director Chen had Fu Yu and Gao Chao go up on stage to familiarize themselves with the layout of the kitchen tools and seasonings.

Everyone has their habits when cooking, Fu Yu checked the spice boxes carefully, and arranged them casually.

Everything was ready, with twenty minutes left before the scheduled performance time.

At this moment, the difference in treatment due to differing status becomes evident.

From stage setup, to changing clothes, to familiarizing themselves with the culinary platform, Qiu Jingxiu has not personally come over.

The young man claiming to be her apprentice was busy back and forth, organizing everything on the culinary platform.

When there were ten minutes left before the performance started, Director Chen asked Qiu Jingxiu to get ready, and only then did the young apprentice dash to the lounge to invite her over.

At this moment, Chen Xinwei and Principal Li also came over.

Director Chen quickly stepped forward, ”Principal, Teacher Chen! There are ten minutes left before the performance activity begins.”

Li He is the principal of the culinary school, and it was he who personally established this school many years ago. Though he looks simple and mild, he is actually very determined and vigorous.

Despite being sixty years old, due to good maintenance, he looks only in his early fifties.

Li He waved his hand, ”You all continue preparing. By the way, Gao Chao!”

Gao Chao was surprised, and quickly stepped forward, happily saying, ”Principal, you still remember me?”

Li He laughed, ”Outstanding graduates of our school, I remember them all clearly! Did you ever make golden crispy pork and walnut buns at Zhongxiang Restaurant?”

Gao Chao said honestly, ”We have crispy pork in our restaurant, I make it often, it’s not difficult. Mainly the walnut bun, because I knew beforehand that Teacher Qiu would be performing, so I checked the specific cooking method in advance. If I follow the recipe step by step, and with Teacher Qiu’s guidance, I should be able to make it, but...”

”I’ve never really worked much with pastry before, so I can’t guarantee what the final result will be like.”

Fu Yu stood beside him, listening to Gao Chao honestly share about his cooking skills, he couldn’t help but give him another look.

Although he had some reservations about Gao Chao because he was Che Yuhang’s apprentice,

But fairness is fairness, nobody should mistake their opinions.

He felt Gao Chao was a very down-to-earth person, honest and sincere, not restless or vain.

This guy’s alright!

Actually, Gao Chao’s first impression of Fu Yu was also very good.

But it was when he came to Bei’an for this time, at a welcome banquet, hearing his friends talk about Fu Yu at the table.

His friend Luo Yong’s brother Luo Rang is the head chef at the Four Seas Banquet Restaurant.

Luo Rang had once worked alongside Fu Yu providing home service.

After returning, Luo Rang couldn’t stop praising Fu Yu’s culinary skills, and greatly appreciated this young, excellent chef.

He witnessed first-hand Fu Yu’s entire cooking process at the banquet.

His techniques were skillful, the cooking process smooth, and steps precise, particularly the plating, which was especially delicate and creative.

This brought genuine admiration and appreciation from Luo Rang.

Now Gao Chao, upon seeing him in person and hearing that the first prize winner of the Master Chef Competition was indeed Fu Yu,

grew even more favorable towards him.

At this moment, the host came over, ”Principal, the activity start time is almost here, shall we begin the stage now?”

Li Hao looked at Director Chen, ”You handle it, the journalists and live broadcast staff are ready too, I’ll go with Teacher Chen to have a look.”

Director Chen nodded, ”Alright, Principal, once Teacher Qiu arrives, we’ll start immediately.”

Li Hao and Chen Xinwei walked together towards the staff with various equipment set up in front of the stage.
