The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Chapter 327: Chapter 326: New Business Opportunity

After the eleventh day, Yao Shi has been clocking in at Qianlima on time for work these past two days.

He went to the office today to see Dong Jun Tian again.

Dong Jun Tian wasn’t very interested in the seafood dishes Fu Yu made, which were suitable for pregnant women.

Mainly because he felt the dishes were too bland, and the presentation was just average. They had similar dishes at their restaurant, but with more intense flavors and better taste.

Because of this matter, Yao Shi had come to see Dong Jun Tian twice.

He wanted to fight for an innovation dish reward for Fu Yu, but Dong Jun Tian clearly had no such intention.

So, he just wanted to confirm Dong Jun Tian’s opinion today.

If Dong Jun Tian decided to abandon these innovative dishes, then Yao Shi decided to give Fu Yu a reward himself. Instead of offering a commission per dish, he planned to negotiate a new cooperation bonus plan with Fu Yu based on a full set menu package.

Yao Shi saw a new business opportunity in this maternity meal.

The music restaurant could completely launch a set of nutritious menus specially for the pregnant crowd, with options for dine-in or home delivery.

If this business is done well, it could be quite a lucrative income, equivalent to opening up a new marketing channel for the restaurant.

Yao Shi planned to consult Dong Jun Tian’s opinion one last time. If Dong Jun Tian still didn’t adopt it, then he wouldn’t blame Yao Shi for cutting in on the deal.

Yao Shi haggled with Dong Jun Tian in the office for a while, seeing that Dong Jun Tian was obviously unmoved, he realized there was no need to continue the conversation.

Yao Shi wasn’t happy about this; he suddenly found the whole situation in front of him very funny.

So, he made the excuse that there was something to handle in the kitchen and left in disinterest.

After leaving the office, Yao Shi turned his head for one last look, then resolutely left.

Entering the kitchen, Yao Shi saw Zhao Meng and a few others gathered around watching Fu Yu work on plate presentation.

Fu Yu chose a round-bottomed takeout box, first filled it with tomato shrimp, arranged in two layers like a flower, with two tender green cilantro leaves on top as garnish.

The hawthorn jelly was cleverly placed in an exquisite shell, which was fixed in the box with syrup to ensure it wouldn’t easily tip over no matter how it was shaken.

The thought put into this was truly ingenious.

Even Yao Shi couldn’t help but praise it after seeing it.

Next came the banana pie with sweet and sour fish and the orange milk steamed abalone.

They were simpler, essentially a mix of two dishes.

The head and tail of the sweet and sour fish were fried to stand tall, and the banana pie was shaped the same way when baked by Fu Yu.

One takeout box contained three fish, one large and two small, which was quite fun and playful.

The orange milk egg custard was placed in the center of the box, with three abalones stacked on the side. Thanks to a divider in the box, mixing of flavors wasn’t a concern.

The upside of takeout packaging is the variety of box styles, making it easier to pack things neatly.

After finishing all the dishes, they filled three large takeout boxes completely.

Qianlima’s front hall dining substitute area.

A server took the bill to Pan Yuanlong for payment.

Seeing the price, Pan Yuanlong frowned and asked, ”Haven’t these dishes increased by three since last time I ordered this menu set, resulting in an extra five hundred?’

The server explained, ”Because you requested additional fruit, the kitchen modified the dishes to suit your needs, and added the restaurant’s special desserts to the original meals.”

In truth, the server was unsure, but as it was prepared by the kitchen team and priced according to Chef Yao’s standards, she maintained a composed expression despite her inner uncertainty.

Pan Yuanlong’s face turned red with anger, feeling he had been ripped off!

But since the dishes were already being prepared, it was too late to complain.

Moreover, he just wanted the food to be ready quickly so he could rush back to the hospital, even if it meant paying extra.

Taking a deep breath, he, having stood up in agitation earlier, sat back down.

No need for conflict over such a matter.

He also didn’t have the mood to pursue this issue further.

However, it was hard for him to cool down, causing him to frown while asking after paying the bill, ”Seriously, are the seafood dishes straight from the sea or something? Why do they take so long to prepare when I need to hurry back?”

The server, experienced in handling such queries, responded respectfully and with reason, ”Since our seafood is freshly prepared on the spot, cooking may take a bit of extra time. Also, given that this meal is for a near-term pregnant woman, our chefs are making sure to be extra careful.”

Upon hearing this, Pan Yuanlong felt somewhat relieved; there was no use being anxious since the kitchen wasn’t ready yet, and he had to bear with it.

And in the kitchen, the meal bell was rung to call the delivery attendant, who then carried out the packed meals.

Seeing the two delivery attendants carrying the exquisite oversized takeaway boxes, Pan Yuanlong couldn’t help but feel a bit less resentful over the extra cost.

It was in part because Qianlima’s boxes looked upscale, and seeing them delivered like this, he thought they could potentially make up a complete grand feast if laid out dish by dish.

Given Qianlima’s service standards, a lavish grand feast seemed worthy of such a price.

Pan Yuanlong hurriedly made his way to the delivery room with the boxes in hand.

His wife hadn’t given birth yet, but the doctor had checked and informed them she was two centimeters dilated.

”Does that mean she will deliver soon?” Pan Yuanlong asked anxiously.

His mother-in-law took the boxes and began unpacking, saying, ”Not yet, only two centimeters dilated—could be until midnight.”

”Ah!” Pan Yuanlong quickly replaced his father-in-law, sitting by the bed, holding his wife’s hand, ”How are you feeling, dear?”

His wife was recovering from contractions and taking deep breaths to steady herself. She shook her head weakly and said, ”It hurts like hell...”

Pan Yuanlong was both heartbroken and at a loss.

His mom was unpacking the boxes, saying, ”Quick, Yingying, what do you want to eat? There’s a lot of seafood; it all looks so appetizing and smells wonderful!”

Contractions came and went quickly.

When the pain hits, it feels unbearable, and once it’s gone, it’s as if nothing happened.

After the pain subsided, Sun Yuying let out a heartfelt sigh of relief and waved her hand, ”I don’t feel like eating, I have no appetite.”

Pan Yuanlong quickly urged, ”Just try it. I got it from Qianlima; didn’t you say you liked it last time? I ordered the same as before. Just take a look; let me help you sit up a bit.”

Sun Yuying was driven nearly mad by the waiting labor pains.

She had no desire to eat and genuinely wasn’t hungry.

But with the whole family surrounding her, persuading her, Sun Yuying had no choice but to reluctantly sit up a little.
