The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Chapter 347: Chapter 346: Four Interns

A good night’s dream.

Fu Yu got up in the morning and couldn’t help but laugh when he remembered the challenge he issued to Zhao Meng under the influence of alcohol last night.

Yesterday, feeling sorry for Zhao Meng, he was quite impulsive due to anger.

In fact, Zhao Meng and his ex-wife divorced almost ten years ago, and her matters have nothing to do with him anymore.

Even Zhao Meng didn’t take Che Yuhang seriously, so he had even less reason to be involved with Che Yuhang.

Thinking about his previously excited goal-setting with Sun Qingning, Fu Yu found it somewhat amusing.

Really quite childish!

His life goals through hard work weren’t to compare himself to others.

It was to ensure a stable and happy life for those he cared about.

To work hard and make life better for himself and his family.

To use his exquisite culinary skills to better serve customers and create more delicious food.

To turn his work and hobbies into a true means of survival.

Now that he’s calmed down, Fu Yu finally can see the essence through the phenomena.

He suddenly realized that recently, with the system’s help, his culinary skills had made rapid progress.

In cooking, because he was proficient, work became particularly smooth.

He then participated in the Master Chef Competition, successfully won first place, and received praise from several renowned chefs.

All of this subtly led to a bit of swelling pride.

He washed his face with cold water.

When Fu Yu looked at Che Yuhang again, his original thoughts of being invincible with the system gradually settled down.

Others don’t have a system, yet through their hard work, they live as if they have a cheat code.

Now with such a heaven-defying system, not striving hard would be a disgrace to the heavens!

Since the goal was set, it definitely needs to be achieved through effort.

Moreover, there are linked tasks to complete.

Fu Yu was quite looking forward to the random rewards given by the system.

A routine day at work.

At two in the afternoon, Yao Shi suddenly came to notify Fu Yu that Friday’s employee interview was postponed to the following Monday because the culinary school was hosting a school celebration.

Yao Shi smiled and said, ”It’s perfect, take a day off on Friday to attend the event as well.”

Fu Yu was about to say there’s no need for a day off; he wasn’t particularly looking forward to attending the school celebration.

Yao Shi continued, ”I heard your Principal Li specifically invited Qiu Jingxiu this time, and she will do a live cooking demonstration of walnut buns from Yangbi and the most distinctive ’Golden Crispy Pork’ from the ’Old Eight Bowls.’ It’s worth seeing!”

Hearing that the school invited Qiu Jingxiu, Fu Yu was instantly thrilled, ”Really? Teacher Qiu will be there?”

Qiu Jingxiu is a very famous local female culinary goddess.

She is the first female senior culinary master and a local intangible cultural heritage inheritor.

Wherever she goes, she insists on learning the local culinary skills and selflessly teaches her own.

In various cooking competitions, she won gold and silver, showing that women can match men.

Fu Yu was very interested in her Hundred Mushroom Banquet that she held in the Guinness World Records.

Yao Shi laughed, ”It’s true. Your school has already put out promotional ads, just in time to recruit new students with the school celebration. If I weren’t so caught up here, I’d like to go and see Teacher Qiu’s style as well.”

Fu Yu quickly said, ”Alright, Chef Yao! Then I’ll take Friday off.”

...

Before the school celebration party at the culinary school, Fu Yu thought that the outstanding alumni invited back to give speeches were definitely people who had achieved great success.

But today, he listened as the host announced at the school-wide assembly, ”Now, let’s welcome the outstanding graduate of the 21st class, Zhao Bingbing, to give us a speech...”

Fu Yu happily looked towards Li Linfeng, standing at the edge of the stage in the teacher’s uniform, who was excitedly accompanying Zhao Bingbing to the stage, with all the school leaders, teachers, and students watching. He then saw her onto the stage.

A lively teacher beside them shouted, ”Hey, this is a speech, not a wedding ceremony; one person is enough to go up!”

The leaders on the podium and the people below burst into laughter.

Fu Yu’s original feeling of boredom slowly found back the joy of attending school celebrations in the past within the good-natured laughter.

However, the good mood didn’t last long before the next surprising guest took the stage.

”Now, let’s welcome the outstanding graduate of the 19th class, Gao Chao, to give us a speech...”

A tall, robust young man in a suit walked up to the stage.

He gracefully and sincerely said, ”Hello everyone, my name is Gao Chao. I currently work at Zhongxiang Restaurant, and two years ago, I apprenticed under Che Yuhang, Teacher Che...”

Fu Yu ”!”

He turned out to be a disciple of Che Yuhang!

Fu Yu sat up straight, listening intently to Gao Chao bragging in his speech!

Li Linfeng curiously asked, ”What’s up? You know him?”

Fu Yu responded with a question, ”Compared to him, am I much worse?”

Li Linfeng chuckled and said, ”That depends on how you compare!”

”In terms of looks, you outclass him by ten streets!”

”In terms of career, well, he graduated two years earlier, not really comparable!”

”With your strength, in two years, you definitely won’t be worse off than him!”

Fu Yu nodded in agreement, feeling much better.

He reciprocated the compliment, ”No wonder Miss Zhao has her eye on you; she sure can pick them!”

Li Linfeng chuckled.

The two exchanged compliments, both satisfied.

After the speeches from outstanding alumni from previous years, it was directly time for the school celebration party.

All the family members of students waiting outside, new students coming to visit the school, everyone poured into the auditorium.

Before the party started, Li Linfeng, quite gossip-minded, said to Fu Yu, ”See the fifth row in the front, seventh seat from the left? The one in the black T-shirt, his name is Liu Junrong.”

Fu Yu looked over, only noticing a profile face, quite ordinary-looking, dressed conservatively.

He looked at Li Linfeng in surprise, ”What’s up?”

Li Linfeng said, ”In this graduating class, out of four spots to intern at Qianlima, he got one.”

Then Li Linfeng pointed to a slender male student in the back right row, ”Sun Weixing.”

Fu Yu glanced over, right as Sun Weixing stood up to make way for someone, his frame not very tall, his actions unusually cautious.

Li Linfeng pointed to the young man squeezing past in front of Sun Weixing, lowered his voice and said, ”His name is Lu Yao.”

Lastly, he indicated for Fu Yu to look at a boy near the right rear side standing up and talking to someone.

”Qi Shun.”

Fu Yu gave Qi Shun another look, mainly because among the four, Qi Shun was the tallest, looking around 1.8 meters, and his attire was stylish, with his hair styled, wearing a white shirt and pants, exuding charisma.

When talking to his friends, Qi Shun faced the audience, often laughing heartily, attracting attention from others.

Until the party started, he took his seat.

Fu Yu had graduated more than a year, knowing almost no one at school.

Nevertheless, the joy of blending into a lively collective wasn’t affected in the slightest, so Fu Yu was enthusiastic, continuously applauding and cheering with the people around him.

An unexpected scene occurred during Zhao Bingbing’s solo singing performance.

It was well-known at school that Zhao Bingbing had an enchanting voice. Back in school days, whenever there was an event, Zhao Bingbing would undoubtedly take the stage.

She was prepared to sing a very popular song today.

Zhao Bingbing changed into stage attire, gracefully walked to the stage, and stood in front of the center microphone.

Just as she was about to signal the sound engineer to play the music, someone suddenly shouted, ”Teacher Zhao! I can play guitar; may I accompany you?”

Li Linfeng: ”!”
