The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Chapter 340: Chapter 339: Yeah, Right, Keep Boasting

There’s so much to talk about when old classmates meet.

The two exchanged updates on classmates they knew and asked each other about their current work conditions and pay.

Li Linfeng sighed, ”You guys who got assigned internships by the school really got lucky! Quite a few from later batches have switched careers, and some who tried their hand at small food businesses didn’t make any money.”

”Last year, the school allocated 150 internships; this year it’s cut down to 70.”

In Fu Yu’s year, the Qianlima Restaurant had twelve internship slots. Later, some quit, some were let go by the restaurant, and in the end, only Fu Yu remained.

This year they hired only four graduates from the culinary school.

It seems not only Qianlima but other places also have enough staff.

Fu Yu nodded, ”Yeah, we’re pretty fortunate.”

Seeing the topic getting a bit heavy, Li Linfeng suddenly asked, ”Hey! Do you remember Zhao Bingbing?”

Fu Yu was taken aback and nodded, ”Of course I remember! The beauty from the Baking Department! What’s up?”

Zhao Bingbing was in the same year as Fu Yu, but she studied baking. Though not in the same department, almost everyone in Fu Yu’s department knew her.

Because Zhao Bingbing was exceptionally beautiful, the type to catch your eye at once.

Fu Yu knew about Zhao Bingbing because his roommate was deeply infatuated with her and pursued her diligently every day.

Over time, Fu Yu learned quite a bit about Zhao Bingbing.

Li Linfeng smiled proudly, ”She stayed at the school too, but she’s a bit better than me; she became a regular staff member last month.”

Fu Yu was surprised because his roommate once mentioned that Zhao Bingbing planned to apply to a local dessert chain after graduation.

Turned out she stayed at the school as a teacher.

But why did Li Linfeng bring her up suddenly?

Fu Yu looked at Li Linfeng curiously, ”You and Zhao Bingbing, are you...”

Fu Yu’s probing was unexpected. Li Linfeng chuckled, ”She’s my girlfriend now!”

This time, Fu Yu was truly astonished!

”Wow, didn’t see that coming! You sly dog, managed to catch Miss Zhao!”

Li Linfeng was waiting for this, happily saying, ”Of course, man. I’ve got charm, right?”

Fu Yu laughed, ”Keep bragging!”

Zhao Bingbing wasn’t easy to catch. Back in the day, Fu Yu’s roommate pursued her for over two years without any luck.

Li Linfeng admitted, ”I originally planned to go to Hang City, but hearing she stayed at the school made me decide to stay too.”

To pursue his dream girl, Li Linfeng gave up an internship his family had lined up for him and decisively stayed at the school.

”Although I haven’t become a regular staff yet, my family has everything sorted. The latest, it’ll be done by next spring.”

Though Li Linfeng seemed ordinary—about five foot ten, with a rugged face and sturdy build—his character was wonderful.

As long as Fu Yu knew him, he never saw him fall out with anyone.

Zhao Bingbing indeed had good taste.

After all, finding a man who’s just handsome isn’t worth much.

He should be down-to-earth, reliable, caring, good-tempered, and ambitious.

Having some family background and connections makes it even better!

Fu Yu said sincerely, ”That’s great for you! Once you’re both regular staff, you can balance work and life at the school.”

Li Linfeng laughed, ”Exactly!”

They chatted a bit more, and then Li Linfeng had to leave for something.

As Fu Yu left the school, he got a call from Lin Minghao.

Lin Minghao had smoothly completed his enrollment procedures.

Once he got back, he’d just need to bring his luggage to the school and move in right away.

Fu Yu was happy for him, telling Lin Minghao to take a cab to Ercheng Hot Pot, and he’d head over immediately.

Half an hour later, Fu Yu met up with Lin Minghao.

When Lin Minghao saw Fu Yu get out of the cab, he ran over excitedly, gave him a big hug, and even jumped up and down twice.

”Hahaha! I saw Liu Yiming!! Bro! He even talked to me and said I could go to him if I needed anything!”

Today, as Lin Minghao went to register at Qiming E-commerce Training School, he coincidentally bumped into Liu Yiming, who was there for an inspection.

Upon realizing it was Lin Minghao, Liu Yiming not only spoke with him but also asked about his relationship with Fu Yu.

Hearing that he was Fu Yu’s younger brother, Liu Yiming warmly told him to reach out anytime if anything came up and even gave him his contact details.

Lin Minghao was thrilled!

Meeting his idol, who seemed so friendly, gave him a cloud-nine feeling, like he could soar at any moment.

”Bro! Thank you! I owe this to your good name!”

Reflecting on being the focus in the office surrounded by so many teachers still filled Lin Minghao with excitement!

Fu Yu patted him, ”That’s awesome. With him looking out for you, I can be at ease about you at school.”

Lin Minghao grinned, ”Yeah!”

Ercheng Hot Pot is fairly well-known in Bei’an due to its authentic taste and fresh ingredients.

As it was peak dining time, the private rooms were full, so the waiter seated them in the main hall.

This branch was new, with stylish decor. The main hall was divided into two sections, accommodating over a hundred people.

For his first visit, Lin Minghao couldn’t help but look around.

After scanning the room, he noticed a male diner at the next table staring at them.

No,

He was staring at Fu Yu!

”Bro! Do you know that guy over there?”

Seeing the man’s persistent gaze on Fu Yu, Lin Minghao couldn’t help but mention it.

Fu Yu, busy with the menu, looked up at the prompting and spotted a familiar face amidst the group of men at the adjacent table.

That man nodded in acknowledgement when Fu Yu’s gaze met his.

Fu Yu recognized him and greeted warmly, ”Chef Liu!”

Liu Yunpeng, seeing that Fu Yu remembered him, laughed joyously, ”Chef Fu, what a coincidence! Didn’t expect to see you here!”

Liu Yunpeng was dining with some old friends today.

Initially, they were ready to leave after some conversation, but then Fu Yu and his companion arrived and were seated nearby.

Liu Yunpeng had a strong impression of Fu Yu.

This kid initially took over his cooking station during a competition, then later successfully apprenticed under Liu Yunong.

However, Liu Yunpeng felt no resentment toward Fu Yu.

On the contrary, he held great admiration for this talented young chef.
