The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Chapter 322: Chapter 321: Doesn’t Seem Like She’s Joking

Fu Yu first greeted Dai Jinghe and others before sitting down beside Liu Yunong.

Liu Yunong smiled and introduced to the others, ”This is my new apprentice, Fu Yu, currently working in the Qianlima kitchen.”

Fu Yu hurriedly greeted everyone politely, feeling a bit surprised at heart.

The way Liu Yunong spoke, it didn’t sound like she was kidding at all.

Wasn’t the apprenticeship just a performance for the competition?

Fu Yu couldn’t help but glance at Liu Yunong.

Everyone present behaved very courteously.

Dai Jinghe asked Fu Yu with a smile, ”You’ve been quite busy at work these days, right?”

Fu Yu nodded, ”It’s alright, it’ll ease up after the eleventh.”

Dai Jinghe said, ”I thought so too. I originally wanted to invite you out for a meal the last two days, but figured you might not have time, so I scheduled it for today.”

Fu Yu was somewhat surprised; he didn’t expect that today’s meal was organized by Dai Jinghe to invite him over.

Fu Yu felt a bit flattered.

The others present didn’t know Fu Yu and hadn’t heard of him before.

Seeing Liu Yunong being so fond of him and Dai Jinghe clearly showing great admiration and appreciation for him, everyone couldn’t help but take a closer look at Fu Yu.

This chef from Qianlima, could he have some extraordinary background?

He looked to be just in his early twenties, yet so familiar with a few renowned chefs present?

But Qianlima is just an old well-known restaurant!

This piqued everyone’s curiosity!

The owner of Pie King, Liu Changqing, who was responsible for hosting today, was even more astonished.

Since when did Qianlima have such a character?

Chen Xinwei laughed and introduced to his friend beside him, ”Xiaofu is not ordinary. He won first place in the Gold Chef Competition this time.”

Everyone present was taken aback.

Chen Xinwei said, ”Didn’t I participate in a program before? That Three-Set Duck, after I saw Master Yang Huai make it back then, I couldn’t forget it. I didn’t expect Xiaofu to pull it off in the competition this time!”

Upon mentioning the Three-Set Duck, those in the know looked at Fu Yu with a face full of astonishment and disbelief.

And those who had never heard of it, judging by the reactions of the others, knew that this dish must be something special.

So everyone’s attitude towards Fu Yu became noticeably more courteous.

Liu Changqing laughed and praised, ”Didn’t expect Chef Fu to be so young and promising! Since we have the fate to meet today, let’s be friends; come over anytime in the future, I’ll host you!”

Fu Yu had already been quietly informed by Liu Yunong that this person was the owner of Pie King, Liu Changqing.

So he quickly responded politely, ”Thank you, Boss Liu.”

Liu Changqing chuckled, ”My father was old friends with Elder Dai and knows your master too. We are all insiders here, don’t hesitate to ask for help in the future if needed.”

When Fu Yu heard Liu Changqing’s words, he suddenly understood something he hadn’t before.

No wonder Dai Jinghe would choose an inconspicuous chef from the last row as his apprentice, ignoring the outstanding contestants from the first two rows.

It turns out it’s because he and Liu Changqing’s family are old friends.

This was also a way to help promote Pie King, putting its name out and paving the way for Liu Changqing.

And those within local circles in Bei’an, upon hearing Fu Yu’s name, felt a sense of familiarity, and after thinking again, suddenly realized!

This kid is really in the limelight recently!

Previously, when Qianlima Restaurant was interviewed by the provincial TV station, it genuinely stirred up for a while in the circles.

Yao Shi mentioned an outstanding young chef Fu Yu in the restaurant, who innovatively improved several dishes for Qianlima, which had now become the signature innovation of the restaurant.

Just hearing that, he remembered such a person, and didn’t expect to see him in person today, so young!

And also, some time ago, Qianlima’s front desk manager Jia Rundong’s private grievances came into the limelight, eventually leading to a transfer and disciplinary measures, making him too embarrassed to show his face anymore.

And the instigator was right in front of him!

At that time, the incident of Jia Rundong and Fu Yu caused a sensation in the chef circles and became a topic over tea and meals for everyone.

However, no one had a good understanding of Fu Yu. Now seeing him, they realized, he was actually so young!

What virtue or ability does he possess to easily topple Jia Runle, be taken as an apprentice by Liu Yunong, and also receive positive attention from Dai Jinghe and others?

All because of a Three-Set Duck?

How could it be!

All at once, everyone’s attention was focused on Fu Yu.

Fu Yu originally hadn’t attended such occasions often, now with intentional and unintentional scrutiny from others, felt a bit uneasy.

He particularly wanted to check in the restroom if something was on his face unknowingly.

However, as soon as the dishes hit the table, Fu Yu reached for his chopsticks to eat, and instantly forgot everything.

The kitchen never has idle times, standing and tossing woks all day, the little he ate in the afternoon had already been digested by this time.

Pie King was a small but well-known restaurant in Bei’an, with great tasting dishes and several kinds of pies made with distinct features, the restaurant’s business was always good.

Today, to entertain Dai Jinghe and others, the head chef put forth all effort, making every signature dish of his.

Fu Yu liked the taste, once he picked up the first dish, his mouth hardly ever stopped.

Fortunately, no one else at the table actively engaged him in conversation.

Dai Jinghe and others held high status in the circle, rarely seen in normal days, now having the chance to dine together, everyone was eager to network with the renowned chefs, maintaining a very cordial atmosphere of chatting and laughing.

It wasn’t until after the meal that Fu Yu discovered shockingly, that today’s invitation was really just to have a meal and gather.

And his role there was as Liu Yunong’s apprentice, tagging along with his master for a free meal.

This realization left Fu Yu a bit stunned.

He looked at Liu Yunong with undisguised astonishment.

Somewhat doubting, he thought, is she really planning to take him as an apprentice?

It doesn’t seem like she’s joking!

As the group exited the restaurant, as they bid farewell, Dai Jinghe suddenly said to Fu Yu, ”By the way, I don’t have your contact information yet, since we met it means we’re destined, let’s keep in touch for a good gathering in the future.”

Fu Yu quickly exchanged contact information with Dai Jinghe.

Just as he saved Dai Jinghe’s contact, an electronic prompt sounded in his ear:
