The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Chapter 345: Chapter 344: Youth Is Wonderful

Fu Yu looked somewhat surprised at Che Yuhang’s profile introduction.

”You managed to find all this? You’re really something!”

Sun Qingning laughed and said, ”Know yourself and your enemy, and you won’t lose a hundred battles! Chef Zhao losing to him is nothing.”

”Thirty years ago, masters were respected by their disciples; thirty years later, it’s disciples who respect their masters!”

”Che has disciples, but doesn’t Chef Zhao have you?”

”As long as you can outperform his disciples in the end, Chef Zhao will naturally gain respect and glory!”

Fu Yu was a bit stirred up by Sun Qingning’s words!

Clearly, he just felt a bit of injustice for Zhao Meng, but after this encouragement, he suddenly felt a surge of excitement and an urge to rise and fight!

Imagining the future where he makes Zhao Meng proud, Fu Yu couldn’t help but get a bit excited.

Fu Yu: ”But their restaurant seems to focus on different culinary directions than our shop, right?”

Sun Qingning stated firmly: ”Cats have their ways, dogs have their ways, all creatures have their paths. If our old brand restaurant business is done well, it won’t be inferior to the new restaurant industry!”

”Like Old Mr. Dai Jinghe, wherever he goes, he’s respectfully called a master!”

”Not to mention faraway, let’s just talk about Chef Yao, he’s no worse than Che Yuhang, is he?”

Sun Qingning swiped his phone a few times, showing Fu Yu the screen.

[Online Encyclopedia: Yao Shi...]

Fu Yu: ”...”

Sun Qingning fumed: ”Let her despise the poor and love the rich, show off, and flaunt! When you become awesome in the future, Chef Zhao’s status will naturally rise, and we’ll recover all the lost face from today!”

This sentence made Fu Yu’s inner spirit burn fiercely!

The entire dinner service that evening, Fu Yu wielded the frying pan with dazzling skill and flair.

Even Yao Shi noticed.

He jokingly said, ”Xiaofu, did you sneak some of Chef Zhao’s seahorse wine again? You’re full of energy!”

Fu Yu chuckled, ”Chef Yao, from today onwards, I’m going to work really hard!”

Yao Shi laughed and gave Zhao Meng a meaningful look, ”That’s great! Keep up the effort!”

Zhao Meng watched the energetic Fu Yu and shook his head with a smile.

It’s good to be young!

Their shift was the night shift.

Tired after a long day, Zhao Meng originally planned to go back directly to take a shower and rest.

But then Fu Yu suddenly got the urge, insisting they go out to have a drink together.

Usually, Zhao Meng was too lazy to move and would refuse.

But today, he felt a bit unsettled, thinking a drink might be good, so he went along.

That night, Fu Yu and Zhao Meng sat in a private booth at Lao Liu’s Barbecue Shop, facing a table full of skewers, clinking glasses and drinking beer.

One had the intention to just accompany with drinks, while the other felt troubled, and between them, they both drank quite a bit, saying plenty of nonsense.

Zhao Meng’s face grew redder with each drink, while Fu Yu felt warmer and sweatier, first rolling up his sleeves, then unbuttoning, and finally the two moved the table to the door, sitting outside enjoying the night breeze, drinking and chatting leisurely.

Using the courage from the alcohol, Fu Yu honestly told Zhao Meng, ”Chef Zhao, when I came back from outside today, I went to the front hall bathroom and happened to see you with that Hu surname fellow.”

Zhao Meng paused his garlic peeling: ”Hmm?”

Fu Yu apologetically said, ”I really didn’t mean to eavesdrop, I was just standing in the stall at the time.”

Zhao Meng: ”... Damn! You didn’t lock the stall door when you went to the restroom!”

When he entered, he even glanced over, thinking there was no one inside since the door was open.

Fu Yu awkwardly laughed, ”Sorry, it really wasn’t intentional.”

Zhao Meng waved his hand, ”Oh, it’s okay, we didn’t say anything shameful.”

Throughout the evening, Fu Yu felt a bit unsettled.

Having accidentally overheard Zhao Meng’s private matters made him both feel sorry for Zhao Meng and very apologetic.

Switching places, if it were him, he’d certainly not want this matter known by outsiders.

He felt much better after speaking up under the influence of the alcohol.

Fu Yu couldn’t help but advise, ”Chef Zhao, let me tell you, that Che fellow, he’s just a restaurateur, what’s so special about him!”

”You don’t need to fear him, don’t I have your back? In the future, I’ll win this for you!”

Feeling a bit intoxicated, Zhao Meng listened to these words, though heartwarming, it oddly pricked him a bit.

He couldn’t help but retort, ”I don’t fear him! I fear him like a bird! Besides, what am I competing with him for! Right? As for Li Dan, we’ve got the divorce certificate, officially recognized break-up. With that Che fellow, it’s not even the anguish of losing a wife, no need to bother with him...”

Fu Yu was stunned, falling silent: ”Fine, then let me ask you, don’t you feel stifled now?”

Zhao Meng remained silent.

He downed a couple gulps of beer.

Even if he truly didn’t care about Li Dan anymore, the fact that her new man overshadowed him couldn’t help but feel uncomfortable.

Fu Yu took out his phone, searching for a bit before handing it to Zhao Meng.

”Take a look, this is Che Yuhang’s entire achievements.”

”Let’s not talk about academics, let’s start organizing from his graduation.”

”First year after graduation, he went to the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts to study, second year, officially participated in the ’Bocuse World Cooking Contest’...in the eighth month, he joined with his teacher to participate in the live broadcast of ’Master Chef Competition’, and accompanied his teacher in accepting a media interview...second year, he followed his teacher to Madison Park 11th Restaurant, in the second month he collaborated with the head chef to host the birthday banquet of tycoon Gurvar Lalwani, and received coverage by a well-known magazine, publishing a brief biography...”

Zhao Meng stared blankly at Che Yuhang’s online encyclopedia entry on Fu Yu’s phone.

Listening in shock as Fu Yu enumerated Che Yuhang’s resume.

Looking at one dazzling personal achievement after another...

Zhao Meng: ”!”

This, this damn!

The punk is trying to do what?!

Is this how you console someone?

The other party is practically crushing us into pieces!

Fu Yu was earnestly reciting Sun Qingning’s earlier prepared notes.

Having a foundation of previously organized specialty dishes records, Sun Qingning’s compilation of Che Yuhang’s personal achievements was incredibly precise and accommodating.

”In the seventh year of work, he received an invitation for a personal interview on a certain station, and then leveraged this momentum to return home and start his own business.”

”At thirty-nine years old, he established Zhongxiang Restaurant, whether it’s customer rate or praise rate, it’s outstanding within the industry’s reputation.”

”At forty-three, he opened three branch stores, and by the third year, he opened a fourth branch, currently still under construction...”

After Fu Yu simply summarized Che Yuhang’s complete details, he lifted his glass and clinked it with Zhao Meng’s: ”Chef Zhao, don’t worry, what he could achieve, I certainly can too! I’m only in my early twenties, by the time I’m in my early thirties, I will definitely have my own career, and with less than his age, I’ll surpass him!”
