The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Chapter 330: Chapter 329: How Come No One Mentioned This?

Having received Dong Jun Tian’s verbal guarantee, Director Sun hung up the phone with satisfaction.

Dong Jun Tian’s expression changed. As he turned around to walk outside, he muttered to himself.

The restaurant hasn’t even introduced any pregnancy meals, has it?

How did it even come to the attention of Director Sun?

He’s already agreed, so they must quickly prepare the meal and send it over.

Director Sun has been working at the health bureau for over ten years, and Dong Jun Tian often deals with him. He knows that despite Director Sun’s friendly demeanor, he holds grudges deeply.

Over the years he’s been in charge, those who have inadvertently offended him have all faced consequences.

Dong Jun Tian felt troubled and walked with heavy steps.

Pregnancy meal?

Where on earth can he find a pregnancy meal?

As he walked down the corridor leading to the kitchen, he ran into Gu Yunwu, who was coming out of the restroom.

Gu Yunwu hurried over to greet him, ”Boss!”

Dong Jun Tian paused. Gu Yunwu was always skilled at stewing dishes, but could he possibly make a few dishes suitable for pregnant women?

”Lao Gu, can you make a pregnancy meal?”

Gu Yunwu shook his head, ”No, aren’t pregnancy meals supposed to be ordered from specialized places? What’s going on?”

Dong Jun Tian explained the situation with Director Sun to Gu Yunwu.

Gu Yunwu was dumbfounded upon hearing it.

A pregnancy meal?

It even has to be delivered to the second hospital?

Seeing Dong Jun Tian troubled, Gu Yunwu understood this was a golden opportunity to demonstrate his capabilities.

He thought for a moment and suggested, ”Boss, I have a friend whose wife is a nutritionist at a postpartum center. Maybe she could help arrange a nutritional meal to be sent directly to the second hospital?”

Dong Jun Tian shook his head, ”Definitely not. Director Sun specifically mentioned someone told him our restaurant has pregnancy meals, that’s why he called to order one.”

Dishes suitable for pregnant women?

Suddenly, Dong Jun Tian remembered.

Yao Shi mentioned to him in the morning that Fu Yu had recently created some innovative dishes specifically for pregnant women.

At the time, he dismissed it thinking it wasn’t feasible.

Until it was mentioned just now, he hadn’t remembered.

He thought Fu Yu’s bland dishes were hardly innovative!

They didn’t even qualify as modifications to the original menu.

Could it be that what Director Sun heard about was this?

Gu Yunwu was still racking his brain for ideas.

Suddenly, Dong Jun Tian said, ”Alright, I know who can make it.”

With that, Dong Jun Tian walked briskly towards the kitchen.

Gu Yunwu was taken aback and quickly followed, ”Boss, who in the kitchen can make a pregnancy meal?”

Dong Jun Tian said, ”I just remembered that Fu Yu should be able to do it. He previously made two innovative dishes because customers had ordered them for a pregnant family member, and he temporarily adjusted the cooking methods.”

Upon hearing this, Gu Yunwu’s eyes widened, ”Fu Yu? He can make pregnancy meals?”

Gu Yunwu realized he may have underestimated Fu Yu.

And he wondered if he had been too lax lately?

He was unaware of Fu Yu’s small developments right under his nose.

When did Fu Yu make pregnancy meals?

Why had no one mentioned it to him?

To Gu Yunwu’s questions, Dong Jun Tian simply said ”hmm” as he turned into the kitchen.

Zhao Meng could now handle any orders that didn’t require flipping pans.

The three of them managed the kitchen together, processing orders quickly. It wasn’t like during the busy national holidays, maintaining a high-intensity work pace.

Fu Yu, amidst the workflow, smiled as he listened to Zhao Meng reprimand Sun Qingning.

Sun Qingning had been improving rapidly in the past few days, becoming a bit cocky.

During a recent attempt to flip a pan, he misjudged the force, almost flinging the food out.

Already startled, he immediately received a scolding from Zhao Meng.

Now he was shrinking back, silent like a quail.

Watching Sun Qingning, Fu Yu saw a reflection of his younger self.

Always getting yelled at by Zhao Meng, feeling scared and flustered initially.

With time, he learned that the more serious and stern someone is, the easier they are to get along with.

Because if you meet their expectations, there’s nothing to fear.

Fu Yu, watching Sun Qingning being reprimanded, felt grateful. Thankfully, when he joined Qianlima, his mentor was Zhao Meng.

Lost in his reflections, he suddenly heard someone nearby softly remind, ”The boss is here!”

Hearing this, everyone turned to look.

Dong Jun Tian quickly entered the kitchen, heading straight for Fu Yu.

Fu Yu was busy at the stove but quickly turned to greet the boss along with everyone else, then continued with his work.

However, Dong Jun Tian didn’t leave. Instead, he asked, ”Xiaofu, can you make a pregnancy meal?”

Fu Yu was taken aback but honestly replied, ”I can make a few dishes.”

Dong Jun Tian nodded, ”Alright then, how many current orders do you have? If not, let someone else handle them. I’ve just received an order for a pregnancy meal and the customer is quite urgent.”

With the boss’s word, Fu Yu couldn’t refuse.

Zhao Meng, watching Dong Jun Tian assign the task to Fu Yu, quickly asked, ”Boss, the pregnancy meal order has been placed? What dishes did they order? Fu Yu hasn’t made pregnancy meals before; can he manage it?”

Hearing this, Gu Yunwu’s eyebrows rose immediately, ”Boss, this isn’t a small matter! Pregnancy meals have many intricacies, and didn’t Director Sun say we should deliver it to the delivery room? If the pregnant woman is in the delivery room, she’s about to deliver, and if there’s any issue with the food, it could be a huge problem!”

These days, with one child per household, pregnant women are cherished dearly!

The hopes of two families rest in that belly, and if anything goes wrong with the diet, trouble is inevitable.

This time, Gu Yunwu was truly not targeting Fu Yu, but was purely discussing the matter.

Without any euphemism, he candidly advised Dong Jun Tian to think twice.

He assumed Dong Jun Tian was scrambling for solutions, considering Fu Yu’s knack for innovative dishes, prompting him to give it a try.

When faced with Gu Yunwu’s straightforward advice, Dong Jun Tian was momentarily taken aback.

It would have been reasonable if Zhao Meng said it.

But here, it was Gu Yunwu stepping in to defend Fu Yu!

Dong Jun Tian was briefly dumbfounded.

Who was Fu Yu’s mentor anyway...

As they were talking, Fu Yu’s dish finished cooking. He skillfully plated it, while Sun Qingning carried it to the pass.

Hearing the commotion, Yao Shi turned to see Dong Jun Tian and quickly approached.

Typically, Dong Jun Tian rarely came to the kitchen, as he delegated full responsibility to Yao Shi, partly because of Yao Shi’s exceptional capability, sparing him from worry, and partly to demonstrate his trust in Yao Shi.

Seeing Yao Shi arrive, everyone present felt a collective sigh of relief.
