The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Chapter 308: Chapter 307: I Want to Intern at Qianlima Restaurant

After the formal rehearsal ended, the participants dispersed and left individually.

The judges, however, were entertained by the propaganda department leaders and went to a nearby restaurant for a meal.

Midway through the meal, Liu Yunong’s phone rang.

She glanced at the caller ID and casually answered the call.

After listening to the caller, Liu Yunong’s expression changed suddenly.

She hung up the phone and apologetically indicated to the leadership of the propaganda department, ”I have an urgent matter to attend to, I need to leave now.”

After saying this and exchanging a few polite words, she also greeted the other judges before leaving in a hurry.

Once outside the restaurant, Liu Yunong headed straight for the hotel where she was staying while taking out her phone to make a call.

The call was quickly answered on the other end.

Before Liu Yunong could speak, the other party rushed to complain aggrievedly, ”Sis! Why aren’t you at the hotel? It’s so late already, where did you go?”

Liu Yunong was a little stunned, ”You’re already here? I’m on my way back now, ten more minutes, no, five minutes, I’ll be there!”

Liu Yunong hung up the phone and simply started jogging back.

They say the elder sister is like a mother.

Liu Yunong’s mother died young, and the two sisters grew up with their father.

Unfortunately, their father was a surveyor, and he was often away from home for long periods.

Liu Yunong practically raised her younger sister, who was fourteen years her junior, as half a daughter herself.

Liu Yunong ran all the way back to the hotel.

She went up to the third floor and, just as she turned into the corridor, she saw someone sitting on their luggage at the door to her room, head down, playing on their phone.

Liu Yunong hurriedly called out, ”Xiaoqing!”

Liu Yuqing turned her head upon hearing the call and, upon seeing her sister, broke into a joyful smile.

She sprang up from her luggage, dashed towards Liu Yunong, and when she was close, she leaped into Liu Yunong’s arms, gleefully shouting, ”Sis! I finally get to see you!”

Liu Yunong was holding her tightly and before she could say anything, her sister was already pouting, ”I missed you so much! Why are you only back now?”

Liu Yunong laughed and explained, ”Wasn’t today the rehearsal? The event just ended, so I went to eat with the organizers!”

After hugging each other for a bit, they let go.

Liu Yunong held her sister’s hand and led her into the room; her previous worries and anger vanished the moment she saw her sister.

The two sisters entered the room affectionately.

Liu Yunong changed her clothes, and the first thing she did was call to order food.

They initially planned to go out to eat, but when Liu Yuqing heard that her sister had just eaten, she immediately changed her mind and decided on takeout.

Liu Yunong knew that her sister felt bad for her being busy all day and didn’t want her to go out of her way.

Even though they were ordering takeout, Liu Yunong still chose a big restaurant and ordered a bunch of dishes her sister liked to eat.

While waiting for the food, Liu Yunong started to count, ”Is your school on holiday? Did you just come here by yourself?”

Liu Yuqing looked up puzzled, ”Huh? Holiday... I’ve graduated, what holiday?”

Liu Yunong frowned upon hearing that.

Before she could say anything, Liu Yuqing, feeling guilty, started looking around and was a bit restless.

Liu Yunong glared, ”Xiaoqing, don’t make me angry, tell me, did you sneak out here to find me?”

Liu Yuqing blinked and looked at Liu Yunong.

Liu Yunong said, ”Don’t play dumb... I figured it out.”

Fuming, Liu Yunong acted like she was going to poke Liu Yuqing’s head.

Liu Yuqing quickly leaned over, ”Sis!!”

Liu Yunong hurriedly extended her arms to hold her, ”Don’t try that with me!”

Liu Yuqing clung to her sister, whining, ”I missed you! Besides, we’ve truly graduated. The teachers said we should arrange our internships freely, then come back next year for the defense. I even brought back the internship proof, so when the time comes, just need the internship company to stamp it and, it’s settled!”

Liu Yunong kept a stern face, ”Your classmates haven’t left yet, right? Did you just haul your luggage and leave school like that?”

Liu Yuqing hurriedly defended, ”Some of my classmates have already left! As long as we find a confirmed internship place, we can leave school!”

Liu Yunong was almost amused, ”Your classmates have arranged their internships and left, do you have an internship?”

Upon hearing this, Liu Yuqing suddenly went silent, looking pitiful and wronged.

Seeing her like this, Liu Yunong was not worried at all; in fact, she couldn’t help but find it a little funny.

”Alright, tell me, what’s the matter?” Liu Yunong lightly coughed, holding back a laugh as she asked.

Liu Yuqing sighed, ”Sis, am I really that bad? I really try hard, and usually, my grades are pretty good, but I didn’t do well in the graduation exam, which affected the rankings. The school actually assigned us internship spots based on ranking, and I don’t want to go.”

Liu Yunong was a little curious.

She knew her sister very well; although a bit headstrong, she had always been serious about her studies, always among the top in her class.

Even if her performance was off, how bad could it be?

Thinking of this, Liu Yunong couldn’t help but ask, ”Where did the school assign you for the internship?”

Liu Yuqing sighed, ”Four Seas Banquet.”

Hearing this, Liu Yunong let out a relieved breath, ”Four Seas Banquet is pretty good, it’s quite a renowned restaurant here in Bei’an.”

Liu Yuqing immediately got anxious, ”What’s good about it! It’s just for lamb spine hotpot! It has nothing to do with my major!”

Once Liu Yunong understood the crux of the issue, she relaxed and chuckled, ”This is not a problem, it’s just an internship place, right? You can choose any of my shops, go wherever you like, and you can do an internship related to your major.”

Liu Yuqing’s expression changed instantly, waving her hands anxiously, ”All your shops are back home! I want to stay in Bei’an in the future!”

Liu Yunong waved her hand, ”Staying in Bei’an is fine, I’m planning to open a branch here anyway. I’ll send a couple of people over and you can take charge of the shop. An internship is just a formality; if you manage well, I won’t interfere, you can fully take over.”

Upon hearing this, Liu Yuqing quickly said, ”Sis, don’t worry about me, I’ve already decided where I want to intern! I just graduated, and I don’t know anything yet, how can I take over a shop? I plan to start from the bottom like you, slowly gather experience, and then consider entrepreneurship.”

Liu Yunong was intrigued upon knowing her sister had made up her mind, ”Oh? Where did you choose?”

After staying in Bei’an for a few days, Liu Yunong had come to know quite a bit about the local scene.

There were only a few restaurants that have a name for themselves.

Balancing her thoughts quickly, Liu Yunong made up her mind.

No matter where her sister wanted to intern, she could find a way to get her accepted.

Understanding her sister’s capabilities well, Liu Yuqing eagerly said, ”I want to intern at Qianlima Restaurant!”

Liu Yunong: ”!”
