The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Chapter 309: Chapter 308: Witnessing God Yao’s Charisma

Finally, the thoughts in her mind were spoken out loud.

Liu Yuqing, brimming with excitement, boasted to her sister, ”Sis, you have no idea, Qianlima Restaurant is amazing! It’s a century-old brand, and many of their dishes are authentically passed down through generations! I heard they even have some secret seasonings and sauces, exclusive recipes! I really want to intern there!”

”And you know what? The head chef in their kitchen is actually Yao Shi!”

At the mention of her idol, Liu Yuqing’s mouth seemed to have a switch flipped on, as she animatedly recounted to her sister the numerous brilliant achievements of Yao Shi.

”Sis, that’s God Yao! Super amazing, he...”

When Liu Yunong heard the name ”Yao Shi,” she was momentarily stunned.

She interrupted Liu Yuqing, ”Wait a minute! Who did you just say?”

Liu Yuqing widened her eyes, ”Yao Shi! Oh, so I was talking for ages, and you didn’t listen at all!”

Liu Yunong was still a bit uncertain, ”Did you say Yao Shi is working in the kitchen at Qianlima?”

Liu Yuqing nodded, ”Yeah, so what?”

Liu Yunong picked up her phone and called the headquarters of the Music Restaurant.

”Hello, is this President Bai? This is Liu Yunong.”

President Bai, upon hearing her voice, greeted her with a smile, ”Oh, President Liu? Do you need something?”

Liu Yunong was not only an influential celebrity chef but also the founder of the Shangshi Private Kitchen chain, with several branches now open.

She had a wide network in the industry, having interacted with the leadership at the Music Restaurant headquarters before.

Liu Yunong asked, ”President Bai, can you help me with something? Yao Shi is one of your restaurant’s franchisees, right? Do you know much about him?”

President Bai asked in surprise, ”Yao Shi? Yes, he is one of our franchisees, but in partnership with someone else... Why are you inquiring about him?”

After hearing President Bai’s response and confirming the identity, Liu Yunong asked, ”Is he still working at Qianlima Restaurant?”

President Bai was a bit surprised, ”You know him? Yes, he’s the head chef at Qianlima.”

Liu Yunong felt relieved, knowing it was him.

”Oh, we’ve dined together before, but haven’t kept in touch. Anyway, I understand. Let’s catch up sometime at my place when there’s a chance.”

President Bai agreed, ”Sure, once the busy period is over after the National Day, I should be free to schedule something. We’ll be in touch then.”

After hanging up the phone, Liu Yunong relaxed.

Who would have thought that after all this, Yao Shi is actually the head chef at Qianlima!

This is quite a rare coincidence.

Yao Shi has a certain reputation in the industry; otherwise, Liu Yunong wouldn’t have paid attention when she heard he was franchising with the Music Restaurant.

Does this mean Fu Yu is working under Yao Shi?

Such a talented individual, has Yao Shi already taken him on?

Liu Yunong felt this was highly likely.

Sending Fu Yu to participate in the competition must have been Yao Shi’s choice, his decision.

As for the matter of Fu Yu wanting her to be his mentor, did Yao Shi already know?

Why hasn’t he objected?

Is it because the mentor promotion during the competition is just a gimmick, and everyone isn’t taking it seriously?

Thinking of this, Liu Yunong felt a bit unwilling.

If Yao Shi had chosen the talent, then it’s definitely not wrong.

And indeed, Fu Yu is really excellent.

He’s skilled with knives, his cooking is good, and importantly, he’s young and handsome.

With his current skills, by the time he reaches her age, Fu Yu’s achievements might be equal to or even far surpass hers.

The more Liu Yunong thought about it, the more she felt she was really insightful.

Even if the mentorship at the event was fake, so what, she was accepting Fu Yu as her apprentice anyway.

As for Yao Shi...

At worst, just let Fu Yu have two mentors.

Liu Yunong, having lived abroad for a while, had seen such situations before and was very open-minded about it.

Moreover, now her own little sister wants to intern at Qianlima.

If she can establish a connection through Yao Shi, it means someone would be looking out for her.

That would put her at ease.

Liu Yuqing, observing her sister’s expression, was full of suspicion.

What’s going on?

After a call to inquire about Yao Shi, her sister was silent.

Strange!

Could it be that she doesn’t get along with Yao Shi?

It’s often said that peers are rivals...

Thinking of this, Liu Yuqing suddenly became restless.

”Sis, you and God Yao...”

Liu Yunong interrupted her sister, ”I understand your thinking now. For these next few days, just relax in the hotel, and once I’ve made the arrangements, you can go ahead and intern at Qianlima. Don’t worry about the specific position or salary... When you get to Qianlima, you should try to connect more with a chef named Fu Yu, he’s a nice person.”

These words acted like a magical calming pill, putting Liu Yuqing at perfect ease both physically and mentally.

Great, finally, I can go to Qianlima and see God Yao’s style!

...

In anticipation of the National Day, Qianlima Restaurant organized another rather large promotional event.

Besides offering discounts and small gifts, they also held a lottery event.

The prizes from the lottery were distinctive dishes from the restaurant.

This promotion was initially suggested by Yao Shi during Labor Day this year, but Dong Jun Tian had rejected it at the time due to cost concerns.

Now, the idea was suddenly brought up again, reportedly influenced by his friend Wang Jingrui.

Wang Jingrui’s buffet restaurant held a lottery during this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival, which proved to be very successful and had strong promotional results.

Seeing the actual feedback, Dong Jun Tian regretted not listening to Yao Shi’s suggestion earlier.

If he had followed Yao Shi’s advice and held a lottery during Labor Day, business at the restaurant might have been even more prosperous.

While Qianlima busily arranged the lottery and handed out small gifts, Music Restaurant also underwent innovative reforms this year.

Since the beginning of summer, Yao Shi had discreetly arranged for Music Restaurant to start online marketing and promotional activities.

He created a WeChat group and added all their customers to it, warming up events starting from early September.

Activities such as red envelope (new member referrals), flash sales, and group buying were used to create a festive atmosphere, enhance store exposure, and guide traffic to the store.

The effect was very evident.

Orders for Music Restaurant this National Day far exceeded those of last year.

Similarly, the store’s operations, big and small, also doubled.

Starting from September 20th, Yao Shi’s mobile business skyrocketed, and his phone was almost constantly ringing.

By September 30th, Yao Shi didn’t show up at Qianlima for the entire afternoon.

The reason given was personal matters at home.

In reality, he was at Music Restaurant, overseeing things there.

This was something that had never happened in previous years.

All the management at Qianlima knew that the most successful venue restaurant in the city was opened by Yao Shi, but he would neglect his business to focus entirely on Qianlima’s operations.

This fact earned everyone’s admiration.

They thought of Yao Shi as someone who valued relationships and loyalty.
