The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Chapter 331: Chapter 330: The Author Must Be a Real Sweetheart

Dong Jun Tian saw Yao Shi and quickly said, ”Yao Shi, you’re just in time! Director Sun from the Health Bureau called earlier to order a prenatal meal to be sent to the maternity ward of the Second Hospital. You take care of arranging this matter.”

Yao Shi was initially taken aback, then nodded and smiled, ”No problem, since Director Sun asked, we must do our best to fulfill it.”

Dong Jun Tian felt relieved when he heard Yao Shi say this and couldn’t help but let out a long breath.

Yao Shi asked, ”But when they ordered, did they mention any dietary restrictions? What’s the situation with the pregnant woman?”

Dong Jun Tian explained carefully, ”It’s a prenatal meal ordered for his sister-in-law, to be sent to the maternity ward, which means she’s almost due. His sister-in-law heard somewhere that our restaurant’s prenatal meals are excellent, so she specifically asked for his help to order one.”

”If we can prepare it quickly, let’s do our best. We don’t want the delivery to be late and end up with complaints instead of gratitude.”

Yao Shi, after listening, gave a faint smile, ”Sure, I got it.”

After speaking, he turned to instruct Fu Yu, ”If you can take a break from what you’re doing now, hand it over to me. The prenatal meal here can be made directly according to the morning’s order.”

When Yao Shi said this, Gu Yunwu was dumbfounded.

Did they already take the prenatal meal order in the morning?

Dong Jun Tian was relieved that Yao Shi took over the order, but at the same time, he became interested in this set of prenatal meals.

The boss stayed in the kitchen and didn’t leave, so Gu Yunwu didn’t dare to linger and turned back to his cooking station.

In the kitchen, even though he didn’t get along with Zhao Meng, when working, managing storage, pickling small dishes, managing kitchenware, and coordinating helpers, these tasks were closely connected and frequently required mutual assistance.

Now Zhao Meng suddenly gained momentum, and almost everyone suddenly realized that in the kitchen, Zhao Meng’s side had a relatively higher number of staff, as well as faster order-taking speed and better quality.

Gu Yunwu felt this the most significantly!

He was inexplicably anxious, and looking at Zhang Jiaxin, who was obediently practicing his chopping skills under instructions, he couldn’t help but ask, ”Did you hear about Fu Yu’s prenatal meal task?”

Zhang Jiaxin, who had been assisting Gu Yunwu recently, although doing more tiring work than before, had also made very visible progress in his cooking skills.

Moreover, he originally had a good foundation but lacked opportunities for practice. Now, riding the wave of Gu Yunwu’s desire to train him, he seemed to be on the rise.

As a result, unknowingly, Gu Yunwu’s regard for him was beginning to surpass that for Yao Yihang.

Especially as Gu Yunwu slowly realized that Zhang Jiaxin, who was honest and reliable, was not only obedient but diligent. Anything instructed to him would be done neatly, looking decent, which gave Gu Yunwu great peace of mind.

As a leader, having dependable and efficient subordinates like him was most preferable.

So now, Gu Yunwu was increasingly satisfied with Zhang Jiaxin, even more so than with Yao Yihang, being more casual and amiable around him.

Zhang Jiaxin casually said, ”Yes! They ordered it first thing this morning. It was a big order, and Chef Fu started cooking right away to handle it.”

Gu Yunwu felt like he must not have been in the same kitchen with Zhang Jiaxin, as he hadn’t noticed Fu Yu cooking at all.

Gu Yunwu couldn’t help but ask, ”When did this happen? How did I not know?”

Zhang Jiaxin said, ”Oh, it was when you went to the restroom.”

Most people working in the kitchen tend to have constipation issues.

The main reason is that when they’re busy, they don’t drink enough water, aren’t mindful of their diet, and spend all day in a high-temperature work environment; it’s a nearly unavoidable occupational hazard.

Gu Yunwu was even more baffled, ”Fu Yu managed to complete a whole banquet on his own in just an hour?”

Zhang Jiaxin actually hadn’t paid much attention to what was going on with Fu Yu. He happened to glance over when he went to fetch some ingredients and saw Fu Yu cooking alone.

Hence, he nodded and said, ”It seemed like it. Chef Fu has always been quite swift in cooking. During the last National Day, when Chef Zhao couldn’t work, Chef Fu managed to hold things down on their side without affecting the order-taking speed.”

”Even though Chef Fu hasn’t been a regular chef for long, his cooking skills are really excellent. I’ve seen his cooking; he is particularly meticulous, especially when plating at the end!”

”Chef Gu...will the prenatal meal Chef Fu makes be promoted in our restaurant in the future? It seems quite well-received by the customers!”

Gu Yunwu casually said, ”If more customers come to order, it probably will be. But if it’s just a couple here and there, it likely won’t.”

After all, Qianlima is an old brand restaurant, not a banquet-style restaurant specializing in set meal orders.

The restaurant primarily serves special classic old dishes, and meals like a prenatal meal are not really suitable for in-house promotion.

It’s no wonder Gu Yunwu could gain the favor of Dong Jun Tian.

Regarding the prenatal meal, Dong Jun Tian held the same view.

Fu Yu, still had four dishes left to complete in the current banquet order.

However, since Yao Shi already spoke, he quickly wrapped up his current tasks and handed over the remaining dishes.

Fu Yu stood at the cooking station, looking at the boss and the others in the kitchen who were sneakily glancing over at him, and instead of feeling nervous, he felt somewhat expectant.

Yao Shi hadn’t had a chance to tell him that Dong Jun Tian refused to pay the innovation dish reward.

So, Fu Yu was cooking with the mindset of performing well and impressing the boss.

He already had excellent culinary skills, and since the banquet meal he was preparing was one he had just cooked earlier, it was a breeze for him.

After continuously manning the cooking station for most of the day, busy throughout lunchtime, this moment showcased the benefits derived from the physical training Fu Yu had previously completed in teaching practice classes.

The continued high-intensity workload didn’t exhaust him; his waist didn’t ache, his legs weren’t sore, and his arms remained strong, allowing him to maintain abundant physical and mental energy.

It was as if he had a built-in human generator.

As Fu Yu cooked fluidly, he was secretly delighted in his heart.

In other novels, protagonists usually need to consume some skill pill or complete a mission to restore energy.

His current state couldn’t be described as science fiction anymore; it had to be fantasy, right?

If his life was a book, Fu Yu thought, the author definitely had to be a loving mother!

Having endless energy, never tiring no matter how much work he did—this feeling...amazing!

”Jin Yu, go prepare the ingredients.”

Zhang Jinyu followed the order, feeling slightly excited!

It was his first time working under the boss’s watchful eye, so he had to seize this rare opportunity to perform well!
