The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Chapter 315: Chapter 314: Unlimited Potential

Because an unexpected turn of events stirred up an unprecedented atmosphere of apprenticeship.

And the reason Dai Jinghe provided was that Chef Wang Dejian from the Pie King Restaurant prepared an incredibly authentic Buddha’s Hand Golden Scroll.

Just from that one dish, it’s clear that this person has a solid culinary foundation, and with some polishing, there’s room for significant growth.

Dai Jinghe’s precedent-setting example of accepting a disciple.

When Fu Yu sought to become a disciple of Liu Yunong, and Liu Yunong readily agreed, it didn’t even seem surprising anymore.

The apprenticeship process went smoothly, almost exactly as everyone present had expected.

Liu Yunpeng watched as Fu Yu achieved his wish, feeling a bit complex for a moment.

If it were him, with Fu Yu’s great innate conditions, he would certainly try to apprentice under Dai Jinghe.

No matter how capable Liu Yunong is, she’s still young, and she can’t compare in connections or culinary experience to a veteran like Dai Jinghe.

If one could build a relationship with Dai Jinghe, even if the old master casually leaked some knowledge, it would be immensely beneficial.

Thinking of this, Liu Yunpeng sighed.

Just seeing Liu Yunong’s beauty and the title of Lady Liu got him bewitched.

In the end, it’s still youth and inexperience!

After the apprenticeship ceremony, it was time for the group photo.

Fu Yu stood beside Liu Yunong, both smiling at the camera.

Now, when Liu Yunong looked at Fu Yu, she found him more pleasing from every angle.

Handsome, skilled in cooking, polite, and focused and serious at work!

This is truly a treasure!

Liu Yunong became even more determined to formally accept this treasure as her disciple!

After the photo session, as everyone was about to disperse, Liu Yunong called out to Fu Yu, who was about to leave.

She took out a card from her bag and handed it to Fu Yu: ”This is a VIP card for Shangshi Private Kitchen. As long as you have this card, no matter how much you spend at the store, it will be on the house.”

Fu Yu immediately looked surprised and delighted, a complimentary meal!

Awesome!

But then he immediately remembered that a Shangshi Private Kitchen hadn’t been established in Bei’an yet.

It was as if Liu Yunong could read his mind.

Liu Yunong smiled and said, ”I’ve already asked someone to help select a location, aiming to open a branch of Shangshi Private Kitchen in Bei’an before the end of the year.”

Fu Yu was a bit surprised: ”Do you plan to stay in Bei’an then?”

Liu Yunong smiled: ”This year, I’m planning to stay here tentatively. As for the future, it’s still uncertain at the moment.”

As they talked, Chen Xinwei came over.

Chen Xinwei scrutinized Fu Yu and said with a smile, ”Fu Yu, right? Your Three Sets of Duck dish is really authentic!”

Fu Yu quickly greeted with a smile, ”Teacher Chen!”

Chen Xinwei nodded: ”Young man, your future is limitless!”

...

Zhao Meng, together with Sun Qingning, finished the busiest lunch rush and was about to check the small dishes’ stock in the pantry when he received a message from Fu Yu.

”Chef Zhao! I won first prize in the chef competition!!”

Zhao Meng read it twice to be sure he wasn’t mistaken, then pumped his left fist in the air twice: ”You little brat! So proud of you!”

He couldn’t care about the small dishes anymore, turned around, and loudly announced: ”I’ve got great news! Fu Yu won first prize in the Three Rivers Tourism Festival Golden Chef Competition!”

Yao Shi was also delighted hearing it: ”Really? Xiaofu is amazing!”

Zhao Meng grinned broadly: ”I didn’t expect this... truly...”

Zhao Meng was overjoyed, forgetting he was still in the kitchen, forgetting all decorum, and turned to pull Sun Qingning into a hug: ”Xiaosun, your Chef Fu won first place in the competition!”

Sun Qingning laughed and said: ”I knew Chef Fu would definitely get a place! Haha, Chef Zhao! That’s fantastic!”

Zhang Jinyu joyfully shouted: ”Chef Fu really got first place? None of the chefs from all over Bei’an who participated beat him! Wow! Chef Fu is amazing!”

At the music restaurant, Zhang Zhen hung up the phone, excitedly saying: ”Guess who won first place in this year’s Golden Chef Competition? Fu Yu!! Can you believe it? Fu Yu won first place in this competition!! Wow! How did he become so good? I have to go report this to the boss!”

With that, he dashed out like the wind to make a phone call.

The other kitchen staff looked at each other: ”Did Fu Yu really win first place in the Golden Chef Competition?”

”It should be true, since Chef Zhang said so, it can’t be a lie!”

”That’s just too amazing! How old is Chef Fu anyway! When he first came with our boss, I thought he was an apprentice. I even thought at the time that he was Zhao Meng’s apprentice and came here for advanced training. Tsk tsk, who would’ve thought...”

”Hey, do you think the feng shui at Qianlima is good or something? Each chef there is more impressive than the next! How do their boss do the hiring?”

”What do you mean their boss! It’s our boss helping with the management, didn’t you hear... blah blah blah...”

...

Qianlima’s kitchen.

Zhao Meng looked at Fu Yu’s trophy and certificate, happily saying: ”Oh boy, Fu Yu, you got first place, much better than me! You really did yourself proud! Haha!!”

Fu Yu was also quite happy; he didn’t expect to win and also receive prize money.

The first-place prize of 10,000 yuan had already been credited to his account, although the large award sign given during the ceremony was taken back by the organizers.

Fu Yu said proudly: ”What’s this, Chef Zhao, not to boast, but just wait for the day I’m making big money and you’ll be enjoying life after me! Once I earn a fortune, I’ll send you a case of Zhonghua cigarettes every month!”

Zhao Meng rolled his eyes, half amused, half exasperated at Fu Yu: ”First earn the big money before you start bragging!”

Sun Qingning said: ”Chef Zhao, Chef Fu isn’t just boasting, apart from being young, in every other aspect, he’s not worse than the senior chefs, his cooking skills are great. He’s bound to be especially impressive in the future!”

Fu Yu laughed and said: ”Chef Zhao, even now you manage to tease me?”

Zhao Meng laughed, reaching out to give him a pat: ”You think winning first makes you invincible?”

Fu Yu chuckled and saw Yao Shi coming over, quickly greeting: ”Chef Yao!”

Yao Shi patted Fu Yu on the shoulder: ”Well done, you really made our restaurant proud! I’ve already applied to the boss, since you won the competition, the restaurant is also going to reward you with 5,000 yuan!”

Fu Yu was delighted: ”Thank you, Chef Yao, this is great!”

Zhao Meng looked at the time; it was almost dinner rush again, so he called everyone together, announcing: ”After work tonight, we’ll all gather at the Liu Family Restaurant to celebrate Fu Yu! I’m treating!”

Everyone was genuinely happy to hear this!
