Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 942: Chapter 942: Calming the Situation and Appeasing the People

The patient insisted that the full cost of the medical treatment, as well as their nutritional expenses after discharge, were to be borne by these two individuals, otherwise, the matter would still need to be reported.

Once reported, Ruan Fangfang would no longer have the chance to stay here for her internship, let alone to continue working at the military hospital or in the department in the future—it was simply out of the question.

Left with no choice, they could only grit their teeth and agree.

Better to spend the money and keep the peace.

Ruan Fangfang earned almost no salary during her internship; Ma Mei was the one who paid everything.

At least with this issue, the patient didn’t pursue further, and everything passed. After all, it hadn’t turned into a major disaster.

With hearts pounding and nerves on edge, the two of them went back to get some sleep.

........................

Several days later, Yan Ye returned from an academic exchange abroad.

The first thing he did was call An Hao into his office and asked about her internship progress,”How has your internship been going these past few days when I wasn’t here?”

”Not bad,” An Hao smiled,”I feel like I learn more here in the hospital.”

”School provides a systematic study. An internship is about applying what you’ve learned,” Yan Ye said,”I’ve always trusted my own judgment and insights, and I believe that after this period of learning, you will have experienced rapid and significant progress.”

”Thank you, Teacher Yan! You are always encouraging me.” An Hao was immensely grateful to Yan Ye, considering meeting him her second great fortune in this lifetime.

The first was fulfilling her dream from a previous life by marrying Qin Jian, and the second was thanking Yan Ye for setting her on a distinctly different path, pushing her endlessly forward from behind.

Seeing the flicker of gratitude in An Hao’s eyes, Yan Ye smiled and teased,”All right, then tell me. How are you going to thank me?”

An Hao’s eyes darted around before she said,”How about I find you a good partner? I wonder what kind of person would be Teacher Yan’s type?”

Yan Ye looked at An Hao and said,”Try to find someone like you.”

Upon hearing this, An Hao’s cheeks turned slightly red and hot,”Teacher Yan, stop joking. You know about me and Qin Jian.”

”Ok, no more jokes,” Yan Ye said with a resigned smile, opening his briefcase and pulling out a stack of documents,”The content of this study exchange seems to indicate many institutions are researching minimally invasive surgical techniques. There were successful cases internationally last year, and I hope we can also complete this theoretical research soon and move into practical application.”

In An Hao’s previous life, when she died, such surgeries were becoming increasingly common and gradually maturing.

However, she knew that the first person in China to complete a minimally invasive surgery was not Yan Ye.

But it seemed that Teacher Yan was not the type to care much about fame and fortune; what he wanted was simply to lessen the pain caused by open-heart surgeries for the patients.

”Teacher Yan, I feel we may not necessarily be the first to make the research breakthrough, but I can assure you we definitely won’t be the last,” she said.

”That’s not good enough. We must strive to progress,” Yan Ye said as he casually flipped open his surgical records,”Take this with you, go back and study it well. Next month, there’s a very important surgery, and I’ll have you and Lin Xuan assist me in the operation room. You’ll need to observe carefully then.”
