Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 934: Chapter 934 Important Guest

”No need! There’s no use bothering the teacher over such a small matter, after all, he’s busy every day. If we can handle it ourselves, then we’ll handle it ourselves,” An Hao said.

”Alright, then I’ll listen to you.”

After work, Ma Mei returned home and started cooking after taking off her coat.

Ruan Fangfang followed her into the kitchen to help out.

”Auntie, I sized up An Hao today. I feel like she’s going to be a strong competitor,” Ruan Fangfang said with a worried look on her face.

”How can you, an intern about to graduate, possibly lose to a junior student?” Ma Mei was dissatisfied with her niece’s lack of spirit, ”Do you know how much effort your uncle and I put into getting you an internship at this hospital? You should realize this is a military hospital; not even all graduates from the Military Medical University are guaranteed a placement here.”

”Auntie, of course I understand. That’s why I’ve been trying so hard. But I really think that An Hao is quite capable. I’m just a bit worried,” she replied.

”You’re damping your own spirits and boosting someone else’s,” Ma Mei put down the kitchen knife and patted Ruan Fangfang on the chest, ”Have some confidence! You must stay at this hospital and not let An Hao push you out.”

”Okay,” Ruan Fangfang nodded.

Ma Mei turned back to continue stir-frying her dish, but inside she harbored the same concerns as Ruan Fangfang.

About An Hao, she had done some inquiring.

The girl was indeed impressive. She had started combining internships with coursework in her sophomore year and had completed the entire curriculum by her junior year.

She had already been interning at the hospital for a year.

More importantly, she was the girl who helped the forensic pathologist reveal the cause of death of a patient at the central hospital, an effort that was subsequently reported in the newspapers.

Her performance in anatomy at school was top-notch—the kind of talent that seemed inborn.

Ruan Fangfang was mediocre in talent and not very courageous. She often hesitated and was indecisive when confronted with decisions.

This was not the psychological profile expected of a surgeon.

So, Ma Mei was anxious on the inside.

However, she couldn’t let it show. If she panicked first, Ruan Fangfang would surely be even more panicked.

What to do next, they could only play it by ear.

An Hao and Lei Linxuan returned to the university.

As soon as they entered the dormitory, Lei Linxuan flopped onto her bed, ”My goodness, I’m dead tired. Being a doctor really isn’t something just anyone can handle.”

Gu Shuangshuang was lying on the bed writing a letter, seeing Lei Linxuan worn out to such an extent, she couldn’t help but laugh, ”You all aspire to soar like the great Dapeng bird. Naturally, effort and sweat are unavoidable.”

”Don’t you have even the slightest desire to stay at the affiliated hospital?” An Hao said as she took off her jacket, getting ready to change.

”I’ll obey the organization’s arrangements,” Gu Shuangshuang answered simply. Seeing that An Hao was getting ready to change and rest, she quickly added, ”Don’t change yet, your family’s security officer came by just now, saying that your grandfather commanded, once you return, for the security officer to come and take you back home.”

”Why?” An Hao asked, puzzled, ”Did he mention anything to you?”

”No,” Gu Shuangshuang shook her head, then suddenly remembered something and quickly added, ”Oh, right. He said there are important guests coming to your house tonight, and they must wait for you to arrive.”
