Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 921: Chapter 921 His Expectation

”Me?” An Hao was surprised.

”What, you’re worried your knowledge isn’t sufficient?” The two walked under the ancient tree on campus where Yan Ye stopped.

”That’s not what I’m worried about.” A lack of knowledge could be remedied by hitting the library and reviewing literature and materials, ”What I’m really concerned about is my lack of practice. I have hardly ever done any surgeries for real. The prerequisite for researching minimally invasive surgery is to have performed a great number of surgeries. With a wealth of experience and knowledge, I...I’m still a student who hasn’t graduated. I don’t know if I can do it?”

”You should believe in yourself,” Yan Ye encouraged An Hao. ”Nowadays, many renowned professors in the country are young people like us! Despite being young, they perform surgeries very well! You may still be an undergraduate student, but over the past year, you have both studied and interned in hospitals. I think you’ve pretty much rotated through all the departments, haven’t you?”

”Yes. I spent the whole last year doing so. However, I haven’t followed many major surgeries. I haven’t actually gotten to operate,” said An Hao.

”That’s already quite impressive. Just think, you’re only a junior now. Normally, your school would arrange internships in your senior year. It’s not easy for you to have accomplished so much within two years.” When he was at Medical University, his teacher considered him the most gifted student.

And now, he had found a student who was not lagging behind even herself.

Therefore, Yan Ye used his status to give An Hao plenty of green lights in her learning process, such as allowing her to start interning at the affiliated hospital a year ahead of time.

Such as allowing her to join the research team for a project.

His goal was to cultivate an excellent military doctor!

”I have to thank Teacher Yan for this. Without you, I think I’d still be a conventional student today,” An Hao said gratefully.

”It’s also the result of your own hard work. Of course, you have all the qualities to be a surgeon, and you’re very diligent and ambitious. I’m willing to help you!”

”Thank you for your trust, Teacher Yan! I’m willing to take on that part of the research that Teacher Cheng is working on,” An Hao agreed.

”That’s great,” Yan Ye thought for a moment before adding, ”Since your future direction and goals are already clear, why don’t you start following surgeries from tomorrow on? I’ll talk to the dean for you! After you’ve been following surgeries for a while, you can go take the clinical practitioner qualification exam! Then you can start operating yourself.”

”I haven’t graduated yet; I’m not qualified to take the exam,” An Hao said.

”Hasn’t our school already introduced the Western credit system? Besides the classes you take every day, your elective courses and your internships all count towards your credits. Right, and there’s also the most important item, your thesis. If you have time, you can start preparing it now.” Yan Ye still had high expectations for An Hao.

So, he selfishly exerted her potential to the fullest.

He wanted to see just how much potential she had!

”Okay. Thank you, Teacher Yan. I will work hard to complete everything in a short time!” Over the past two years, she had put in double, even triple the effort of others.

She was continuously absorbing, accumulating, and waiting for the day to burst forth!

”That’s wonderful. Come to the lab early tomorrow, and I’ll personally help you take over the part of the research that Teacher Cheng Yu is responsible for. Of course, I don’t expect you to achieve something big right now! But you must understand, the process of research is your process of improvement.” Only through constant surgical practice and theoretical study could the project keep moving forward.
