Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 932: Chapter 932: Never Indulge

Lei Linxuan left, and An Hao continued, ”Actually, it’s not difficult to investigate this matter. There’s a saying everyone surely knows, ’If you don’t want others to know, don’t do it yourself.’ Being new to the department, I don’t want to put everyone in a tough spot, but I also hope everyone can restrain their behavior, not to go too far. Letting it go the first time is enough, but if I catch it happening again, the second time I’ll go straight to Director Yan! Let’s see how he deals with this!”

After finishing, she turned and went back to her own seat.

Thus, the interns looked at each other, dumbfounded.

”Who did it?”

”Don’t know.”

”She looks so kind, but how can she be so tough in what she says and does?”

Ruan Fangfang curled her lips: ”She’s a student of Teacher Yan, can she be the same as us? With one sentence, she turned us all into suspects.”

Their whispers did not affect An Hao; they entered her ears but not her heart.

What kind of people hadn’t she met over the years?

She had long since learned to take such things lightly.

If she were to be troubled by such matters all the time, she wouldn’t need to live.

An Hao stood up and went to the corridor.

Out of sight, out of mind.

Lei Linxuan came up from downstairs with a bowl of noodles and seeing An Hao in the corridor, approached and asked, ”How is it? Did you find out who it was?”

”No. As you said, the first time can be overlooked. If there’s a second time, I won’t tolerate it,” An Hao said.

”Alright then. You’ve already given them enough face this time. If her nature is good, she definitely won’t trouble you again,” Lei Linxuan finished speaking and handed the bowl to An Hao, ”Eat it while it’s hot. On my way to buy the food, I asked a few people, and the hospital does provide meals. It’s just that we were late today, so we had to settle for this.”

”I got it. Thank you.” An Hao smiled as she took the steaming bowl of noodles, seeing a chicken egg lying on top, ”You’re quite considerate.”

”You’ve been working hard all morning, this is to replenish your energy.”

”Thank you!”

An Hao, holding the bowl of noodles, walked towards her desk. After only a few steps, she saw Ruan Fangfang coming over with a lunch box.

”An Hao, you’re eating lunch so late? Look, we’re all finished, and you’re just starting,” Ruan Fangfang said with a smile.

”Mhm,” An Hao replied nonchalantly.

”Well then, take your time eating,” said Ruan Fangfang, and as she passed by An Hao, she swayed slightly, pretending to lose her balance, and barely brushed off the bowl of rice from An Hao’s hands.

An Hao quickly tried to catch it with both hands.

But the bowl still fell, and with a ”crash” sound, it broke, a large bowl of hot noodles, soup and all, spilled onto the floor.

Everyone saw it, and each of them stood there frozen, not saying a word.

It was Lei Linxuan who hurriedly stepped forward, squatting down to begin picking up the shattered bowl.

”Oh, I’m sorry, An Hao! I really didn’t mean it,” Ruan Fangfang said with a laugh, ”Look, you wasted a bowl of noodles because of me.”

”How about you compensate me with another bowl then,” An Hao looked at her and said.

”Hmm, I didn’t bring any money. How about next time, I’ll treat you then,” Ruan Fangfang said cheerily, ”I’m really sorry.”

Although she apologized with her mouth, her face showed no sign of remorse.

On the contrary, there was a gleeful smile.

”It’s fine,” to everyone’s surprise, An Hao smiled too, ”I know you didn’t do it on purpose.”

”That’s good, that’s good. I’ll come back after I wash my lunch box to help you clean up,” Ruan Fangfang said as she started to leave.

An Hao took the opportunity to reach out her foot swiftly, tripping Ruan Fangfang.

”Ah!” Fangfang yelled, tumbling towards the ground.
