Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 910: Chapter 910 A Dilemma

”What happiness or unhappiness?” Cuihua’s mother looked angrily at Gu Shuangshuang, ”We believe Tian Niu is not that kind of person. Since he promised to marry Cuihua, he will definitely treat her well. We peasants just need to live our lives; we don’t need all that romantic love stuff.”

”What do you mean?” Gu Shuangshuang looked at Tian Niu.

Tian Niu was now regretting his impulsive promise to marry Cuihua.

Though they hadn’t registered their marriage, the ceremony had given it legitimacy in the eyes of the villagers.

If he were to leave with Gu Shuangshuang now, he would leave innocent Cuihua in a difficult situation.

If he continued to marry Cuihua, then he would completely break Gu Shuangshuang’s heart.

In this lifetime, he would have no more fate with Gu Shuangshuang.

His impulsive decision had trapped him in an impossible dilemma.

Suddenly, he had wronged both women!

”Cuihua, it’s my fault! It’s all my fault! The one I truly love in my heart is Shuangshuang! I can only apologize to you now; I will compensate you in the future...”

”If you’ve decided, then leave! Although you are emotionally wrong to Cuihua, leaving isn’t against the law. In such a short time, it’s impossible you two would have registered, so your marriage isn’t protected. Then I have the right to take you away...” Gu Shuangshuang said, tightly grabbing Tian Niu’s hand and standing up resolutely, ”I want to see who dares to stop me!”

”You can’t leave.” How could Cuihua let her husband-to-be be snatched away by someone else? In desperation, she stood up and blocked the two of them.

”Fine, if you won’t let us leave, then we might as well stay at your house!” After all, the wedding was already ruined; it couldn’t go on.

So the two of them stood in the center of the house, facing off against each other.

They stood there for more than an hour, Gu Shuangshuang not showing the slightest intention of backing down.

Tian Niu couldn’t bear it any longer. He let go of Shuangshuang’s hand and walked up to Cuihua to speak, ”Can we have a proper talk?”

Hearing that Tian Niu wanted to talk, Cuihua already had an ominous feeling in her heart.

But she still agreed.

So she and Tian Niu moved to an empty room to talk.

”Cuihua, I want to say I’m sorry about today. Can we not go through with this marriage?” Tian Niu said.

Cuihua’s eyes immediately reddened: ”The bridal chamber was prepared, the banquet was ready, friends and family from young to old were all invited; you say not to marry just like that? How am I supposed to face people in the future?”

”I’m sorry. All this is my fault! All of today’s expenses will be covered by me—no, I’ll pay double as compensation, alright? Shuangshuang and I truly love each other; we can’t live without each other,” Tian Niu apologized sincerely to Cuihua, ”I will apologize to you in front of the whole village, to Uncle and Auntie. I will admit it’s my fault!”

”It really can’t happen, this marriage?”

”Really!”

”Even if you’re beaten to death, it can’t happen?”

”It can’t.”

”Fine, you don’t need to confess in front of everyone in the village; wouldn’t that just let everyone know I’ve been abandoned by you!”

Seeing Tian Niu’s resolute attitude, Cuihua knew she stood no chance at all.

But she couldn’t accept it.

In a moment of heated anger, she grabbed a bottle of pesticide from atop a cabinet.

”What are you doing?” Tian Niu thought Cuihua was going to drink the pesticide herself and turned pale with fright, ”Life is only once, you mustn’t be reckless!”

Cuihua glared at Tian Niu with hatred: ”Did you say you two love each other so much that you can’t live without each other, right? I want to see if you’re telling the truth or lying!”
