Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1942: Chapter 1944: Never Speak of Fear

Why come to aid Africa?

The two looked at the children chasing each other, both silently searching for an answer in their hearts.

”Maybe it’s because I’m not a person who can settle.” Lu Feiyun smiled and said, ”Or perhaps, it’s because of smiles like this? I’m not sure, anyway, when I heard it, there was a voice in my heart telling me to come, so I came!”

Qi Taiguo also laughed, ”You are someone worthy of respect.”

”Heh, I can’t wear such a high hat.” Lu Feiyun smiled cunningly, ”What about you?”

”Me? Because I’m a soldier!” Qi Taiguo glanced at her and said, ”Would saying that seem noble?”

”You’re originally a soldier!” Lu Feiyun laughed and said, ”I never doubted that.”

Qi Taiguo chuckled lightly and said, ”Also because I want more, want to achieve more, want to protect what I cherish and love.”

Human nature is selfish; he is first a soldier, but also an ordinary man, someone else’s husband, someone else’s father. He wants to have the ability to protect his family, to let them feel at ease and smile, so he came!

Lu Feiyun let out a long sigh and said, ”This bacteriological war is very troublesome, Battalion Commander Qi, are you afraid?”

Qi Taiguo turned his head to look at her.

”Afraid of not being able to go back?” Lu Feiyun glanced at him and said, ”Afraid of never seeing your family again?”

Qi Taiguo’s heart skipped a beat, turned his head, and said, ”Since when does Doctor Lu speak such unsure and discouraging words? This is not like you!”

Lu Feiyun said, ”I am also just a person, not a god, and cannot predict the future.”

”What are you worried about?”

Lu Feiyun sat up slightly, crossed her legs, and said, ”Worried about everything, worried a war might start, worried that the medicine won’t arrive on time, that the supplies won’t arrive on time!”

This place, because of the terrain and location issues, is already quite troublesome for transporting supplies, with too many unpredictable factors!

”As long as Fei Country doesn’t have internal strife nor goes to war, there shouldn’t be any problems!” Qi Taiguo said.

”Right!” Lu Feiyun’s mouth curved a little, but her brows did not relax. She had participated in peacekeeping and had gone to help with United Nations medical aid, but had never felt it this difficult.

Seeing her worried look, Qi Taiguo spoke up, ”Don’t worry, just do your best. If anything happens, we’ll protect you and evacuate.”

Lu Feiyun opened her mouth to say something when suddenly, a shrill bell sounded; it was the signal for alert.

The two were startled, exchanged glances, and stood up.

Someone hurried over to report to Qi Taiguo, ”There are indigenous people invading, high alert.”

Before Qi Taiguo could speak, screams and cries echoed from not far away, his expression instantly turned solemn.

”Doctor Lu, go back first.” Qi Taiguo looked at Lu Feiyun.

Lu Feiyun nodded, jumped off the dirt mound, and Qi Taiguo followed, quickly walking towards the barracks, while asking the young soldier what was happening.

Before the young soldier could reply, gunshots sounded. Qi Taiguo looked in the direction; smoke was swirling in the air, his feet hurriedly running into the barracks.

Such situations had happened more than once; they were experienced, but no one dared to take it lightly, because in a foreign country, with such harsh terrain, any negligence might bring destruction.

”The entire army is on lockdown, gather all medical personnel, protect the Health Camp.” Qi Taiguo commanded.

”Yes.”

War never ceases.

Soldiers never speak of fear.
