Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1911: Chapter 1913: Afraid of Losing Because of Love

Cheng Su watched until Qi Taiguo’s car was completely out of sight before squatting on the ground and bursting into tears.

Her crying attracted a lot of onlookers. What’s wrong with this woman? Wasn’t she just being all close with a man, and now they’re parting?

Some people even approached and inquired, then Cheng Su wiped her tears, stood up, glanced long in the direction where the car disappeared, and turned to leave.

Don’t cry, he’ll come back.

She comforted herself, yet still felt a piercing pain. Cheng Su called Ying Xiaoya out and cried once more with her, making Ying Xiaoya cry as well.

As Ying Xiaoya cried, Cheng Su didn’t dare to cry anymore. She is a pregnant woman; what if she gives birth to a crybaby?

”You, why are you crying when I’m crying!” Cheng Su asked through sobs, constantly pulling tissues from the table to wipe her tears.

Ying Xiaoya said, ”Seeing you cry so sadly, I got sad too.”

This logic made Cheng Su want to laugh but she held it back; she was also sad, alright?

The two looked at each other and ended up laughing.

After they had sorted themselves out, Ying Xiaoya asked, ”Qi Taiguo left?”

Cheng Su nodded, took up her tea, and drank a few sips, saying, ”Otherwise, would I pull you to cry with me? Isn’t it just because I can’t let go?”

Ying Xiaoya patted her hand and said, ”Don’t worry, he’ll come back, and besides, we’re still here, right?”

Cheng Su sighed and said, ”I’m just worried and scared, afraid he might not come back. Actually, I know there’s no choice; to achieve the desired goal, you have to pay the price. I’m just scared.”

Scared he might never come back.

”That’s because of love,” Ying Xiaoya said, ”It’s because of love that we fear. I sometimes have such thoughts too; because of love, I’m afraid of losing.”

Cheng Su looked at her questioningly: ”Why would you have such thoughts? Aren’t you two not separating, unlike us.”

Ying Xiaoya gave a bitter smile.

”What’s wrong?”

Ying Xiaoya touched her belly and said, ”Susu, I’m scared, scared that when I’m giving birth, I might die.”

Cheng Su was stunned, scolding, ”Silly girl, why would you think like this?”

”Truly. They say giving birth is like passing through the Ghost Gate once. I’m just afraid something might happen when the time comes. I’m afraid of dying, afraid of not being able to see Cheng Yaozu. I love him so much, I’m terrified of losing him. Sometimes I think, I wouldn’t even want to have a child.” Ying Xiaoya’s eyes revealed a trace of fear.

This is prepartum depression!

Prepartum depression isn’t a small matter. Cheng Su sat closer, held her hand, and asked, ”Does Cheng Yaozu know?”

Ying Xiaoya shook her head, ”He doesn’t know, he’s so looking forward to Beibei. I don’t want to spoil his mood.”

Cheng Su said, ”You’re silly, you should tell him. You’re a couple; your feelings need to be shared with him. Let him know your fears and your anxieties. You shouldn’t bear it all by yourself; otherwise, you’ll make yourself sick. How long have you been having these thoughts?”

”Not long, just recently. At the end of the year, I went for a prenatal check and saw some pregnant women in bad condition.” Ying Xiaoya said with a pale face, ”At that time, I was frightened, thinking if it were me who couldn’t make it, then...”

”Shush, shush, shush! Bodhisattva, forgive this child who misspoke!” Cheng Su immediately stopped her, saying, ”Don’t think such nonsense, you’re scaring yourself.”

Ying Xiaoya gave a bitter smile, ”Maybe, I didn’t dare to tell them either. So, Susu, don’t think you’re the only one who’s scared. We’re all human; it’s because of love that we fear losing.”

Cheng Su held her hand, patted it, thinking she needed to remind Cheng Yaozu later.
