Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1912: Chapter 1914: Son, We Have to Work Together Now

After breaking up with Ying Xiaoya, Cheng Su returned home, where Elder Sister’s family was present, trying to comfort the crying Mother Qi, and it wasn’t until Cheng asked that she understood Mother Qi was upset because of Qi Taiguo’s words and wanted to go back with Qi Fenglian.

”Anyway, I’m not needed here, so why stay? It’s best to go back, to avoid being annoying.” Mother Qi said, wiping her tears.

Cheng Su felt extremely tired, bypassed them to hold Qi Xiaoqi, and first said to Father Qi, ”Taiguo has already left by car.” Then she said, ”Mother-in-law, if you’ve decided on the time to go back, let me know, I’ll have someone book train tickets.”

After speaking, she turned and went back to her room, not bothering to waste words with them.

Cheng Su’s indifferent reaction left everyone stunned, staring at her as she returned to her room.

A loud bang brought everyone back to their senses.

”What kind of attitude is that? Throwing a tantrum?” Mother Qi was the first to burst out.

”Mom...”

”Leave, leave, go immediately, Fenglian, when are you going back, take her with you, do we need her that badly?” Father Qi interrupted Qi Fenglian coldly, ”Thinking she’s something special, better off gone.”

”You, you...” Mother Qi was so angry her finger was shaking, unable to utter a full word.

Qi Fenglian exchanged a glance with her husband, and the people around them fell silent.

...

”Did he leave?” Qi Xiaoqi looked at Cheng Su and asked.

Cheng Su nodded, touched his head, and said, ”I didn’t take you to see him off, don’t blame mom, okay?”

”I don’t mind. You two are the couple, like my little aunt says, you should spend more time together, that ’world of two’ stuff.” Qi Xiaoqi said, raising his eyebrows.

Cheng Su smiled slightly and pinched his little cheek.

Qi Xiaoqi wanted to push her hand away, but found this woman rather pitiable, especially her forced smile, so he mimicked her and touched her head, saying, ”Don’t think too much, it’s not like he won’t come back, he’s just going on a mission. He’s reached this position, he won’t be the first to rush forward in anything.”

Cheng Su raised an eyebrow, ”How do you know?”

Qi Xiaoqi said, ”Whenever there’s an expedition, the general leads the army, does the general charge at the front? If the commander dies, the army’s leaderless, and the battle’s lost.”

”But the higher the position, the more he has to consider, including the big picture.” Cheng Su said.

”That’s true. Since he’s already gone, don’t wallow in self-pity, better to manage things here well so he can leave with peace of mind.” Qi Xiaoqi said, ”Women, aren’t they supposed to manage the home, while men are out, sorting out family matters and social affairs for him?”

”What kind of past life did you have? Ancient times? Times have changed, it’s not the era of polygamy anymore, what home management? Of course, family matters need to be handled, but you’ve seen it, there’s just a few of us. But you’re right, with the facts in front, rather than worrying about him, it’s better to find things for myself to do.” Cheng Su pursed her lips.

Qi Taiguo’s mission to Aid Africa was a fact, he had already set out, so she also couldn’t just stay here, she had to move forward too, only then could they keep in step, and the distance between them wouldn’t widen.

When opponents meet, progress together and keep in step.

”Son, with him gone, who knows when he’ll return. In the days ahead, we’ll need to support each other and strive together!” Cheng Su said, looking at Qi Xiaoqi.

Qi Xiaoqi glanced at her but didn’t respond: ”Get me some new books, the children’s ones are too childish. Also, tell me about the current situation and rules.”

Cheng Su’s lips curved up, ”Alright.”
