Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1913: Chapter 1915: All Gone

Both mother and son have a tacit understanding about the origin of their son. Now Qi Xiaoqi himself also wants to increase his knowledge and learning about the world, so Cheng Su naturally doesn’t disagree. Whatever he wants to know, she tells him and teaches him.

The mother and son chatted like friends, and outside the living room, Mother Qi’s voice could be faintly heard. Qi Xiaoqi paused their conversation and asked, ”How’s that old lady doing? Ever since you and Qi... and dad left, she’s been crying and fussing, it’s really annoying.”

”What can be done? Your dad’s already said that your grandmother should come over to take care of you,” Cheng Su said. ”If she wants to go back now, that’s up to her. Am I supposed to coax her and beg her to stay?”

Qi Xiaoqi laughed, ”People will call you unfilial a hundred times.”

”And does that make me unfilial?” Cheng Su laughed nonchalantly, ”Things have come to this, and I still have to live pandering to her whims? It’d be better if she goes back.”

Qi Xiaoqi also sighed, ”I’m tired of that old lady too, but what are we going to do when the time comes? After you graduate, aren’t we planning to move to Guangcheng? Won’t we end up living together then?”

Cheng Su lay on the bed, let out a long sigh, and said, ”Yeah, thinking about it now, it’s really troublesome. Mother-in-law and daughter-in-law relationships are hard. Let’s talk about it later; maybe we can buy a house here so we can live separately.”

This is also a solution.

Qi Xiaoqi was flipping through a book when a sudden realization made his hair stand on end.

”But what will you do then? You’re not in preschool yet; they still have to help take care of you,” Cheng Su said.

Qi Xiaoqi snapped the book shut, ”No way.” He looked at Cheng Su and said, ”You’ve graduated; how can you not take care of your son?”

Cheng Su laughed out loud, ”I also have to manage the business! How can I be with you twenty-four hours a day?”

”Why not? I won’t cause you any trouble. It’ll be great, wherever you go, I go with you, see the world, maybe even give you some advice,” Qi Xiaoqi said.

It seems to make sense.

”Let’s talk about it when the time comes,” Cheng Su thought. Anyway, her son is a prodigy—not troublesome at all to bring along, even if she has to work.

The mother and son reached an agreement and stopped discussing the topic.

...

Mother Qi, with her pride, couldn’t bear Qi Taiguo’s attitude, Cheng Su’s indifference, and her own husband’s disdain, feeling utterly humiliated, and insisted on going back with Qi Fenglian.

Qi Fenglian had no choice but to agree to go back, telling Cheng Su they’d return on the eighth day of the lunar month, which was also a good time to visit relatives.

Cheng Su didn’t stop her and asked Father Qi, ”Dad, what about you? Are you going to go back with us after New Year’s, or what?”

”Your mom hasn’t come over yet. If I go too, how will you handle Xiao Qi by yourself? You won’t have anyone to help you,” Father Qi hesitated and asked.

”It’s okay, I can manage on my own. Xiao Qi is easy to care for,” Cheng Su said, ”And since it’s New Year’s, there’s nothing much to do, just playing around. If I really need to get things done, I can leave Xiao Qi at the Cheng family.”

The Cheng family, being closer than her own family, made Mother Qi feel resentful when she heard it. She glanced at Qi Xiaoqi, only to see her grandson looking at her as well, prompting her to look away.

Never mind, he’s ungrateful. So what if he’s the eldest grandson? He’s not close to me, so why should I bother?

Mother Qi thought that when Qi Jianguo got married and had children, she’d certainly move in early to bring out a grandchild that was close to her.

Seeing that Cheng Su had everything well thought out, Father Qi figured staying without his wife seemed pointless as well and decided to leave together.
