Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1923: Chapter 1925: Bearing His Child Out of Love

Song Jiaying was amused by Qi Xiaoqi’s ’innocence’ and couldn’t keep a straight face. He was handsome, with the most beautiful eyes, and looked at her so sweetly, it really softened her heart.

”Why pity your godfather? He’s a bad guy, don’t follow his example.” Song Jiaying couldn’t help but pinch his cheek and added, ”And what do you know about men, little rascal?”

”A real man is like my dad, who doesn’t cry. My godfather cried in front of Grandfather Cheng and my fourth uncle, saying how pitiful it was that his son couldn’t be seen. That was embarrassing!” Qi Xiaoqi said.

Song Jiaying’s mouth twitched, and she looked at Cheng Su: ”Did you teach him?”

Cheng Su said, ”I wouldn’t teach him that. I’m on the woman’s side, and Ning Ge needs to learn a lesson. Otherwise, he might think having a wife and son is easy.”

Her words seemed to side with Song Jiaying, but Song Jiaying felt something wasn’t quite right.

”If you ask me, you should leave your son with him, let him handle the diapers, help with feeding, and taking care of the baby. He’ll see it’s not easy, especially after we’ve gone through ten months of pregnancy and endured childbirth. He needs to empathize with us.” Cheng Su added.

Her words struck a chord with Song Jiaying, who sighed, ”Yes, those who haven’t experienced it have no idea of the hardships!” Remembering the times she endured alone, she felt that nothing was too difficult for her now.

Cheng Su noticed her expression and exchanged a glance with Qi Xiaoqi.

”Aunt Jiaying, don’t you love my godfather?” Qi Xiaoqi asked.

Song Jiaying was taken aback. Her usually cool face flushed a little, and she asked, ”You’re so young, what do you know about love?” Dear me, how is Cheng Su raising her son—such a precocious child!

”I know. You must love him if you have a baby with him. Like my mom and dad, they had me because they love each other!” Qi Xiaoqi said. ”My mom says having a baby is so painful. If she didn’t love my dad, she wouldn’t have had me!”

Cheng Su’s lips twitched. When did she ever say that? But it was quite accurate indeed!

Song Jiaying glanced at Cheng Su.

Cheng Su chuckled awkwardly: ”Having a precocious son isn’t easy either!”

Song Jiaying burst into laughter. Alright, those clever questions were indeed challenging for adults.

But whether she loved Ning Ge? She didn’t have an answer in her heart.

Perhaps she didn’t love him. They hadn’t even started yet, just a reckless night resulting in a baby, how could there be talk of love?

Cheng Su noticed that Song Jiaying’s face showed signs of melancholy, so she said, ”Ning Ge doesn’t understand love, and I don’t think you do either.”

”Hmm?”

”Neither of you knows what it means to truly love someone. Given that, why not give yourselves a chance? Spend some time together, maybe you’ll find that being with him is quite comforting. As a woman, finding a husband who makes you feel secure and whom you can rely on is important. Don’t be so eager to hide, try to experience it a bit.” Cheng Su said, ”At least see his true intentions.”

Song Jiaying immediately became vigilant, ”You didn’t call him over, did you?”

”Why would I call him? We said we’d have a chat about raising kids. Xiao Ya hasn’t been in a good mood lately, why don’t I invite her over too, so we three can talk properly!” Cheng Su said.

Song Jiaying breathed a sigh of relief, ”Luckily if you had called him, I wouldn’t have dared to accept your invitation again.”

Cheng Su felt a bit guilty, fortunately, she restrained Ning Ge from coming, or else Song Jiaying would be completely defensive again.
