Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1901: Chapter 1903: Misguided Thoughts

When Father Qi and the others returned, Cheng Su went to the Cheng family to pick up Xiao Qi and let Qi Taiguo manage the venue. She didn’t want to see Mother Qi and the others crying.

”...What’s going on? Have you been crying?” Cheng Su arrived at the Cheng family, and Old Master Cheng saw her red eyes and frowned, asking.

As soon as these words were spoken, everyone focused their gaze on Cheng Su’s face.

”What’s wrong? Did Qi Taiguo bully you?” Ying Xiaoya was very concerned. Cheng Su was now considered her sister-in-law and close friend, and no matter what, she would stand by her. Did Qi Taiguo dare to bully anyone?

Cheng Su touched her face and said, ”No.”

”Then why didn’t he come with you to pick up Xiao Qi?” Ying Xiaoya asked.

Cheng Yaozu also felt that something must have happened, so he asked, ”Did something happen?”

Cheng Su glanced at the time on her watch; she wasn’t in a hurry to go back, so she simply sat down and said, ”Qi Taiguo said he wants to go to Aid Africa. The list has already been decided, and he is likely to depart after the New Year. The return date is uncertain; if slow, it could take a year to come back!”

Everyone was stunned.

Old Master Cheng said, ”Why go to Aid Africa? Didn’t you try Ning Gang’s connections?”

”Yeah, does Ning Ge know? I’ll give him a call.” Cheng Yaozu said, as he went to grab the phone in the living room.

How come he suddenly wants to go to Aid Africa? Conditions are harsh over there, and there are many viruses. If he’s assigned to some epidemic area, and gets infected, that’s a big trouble.

So, avoid it if possible.

Cheng Su said, ”Chief Ning supports him going as well.”

Cheng Yaozu paused his dialing hand and silently put down the phone.

”If Chief Ning also agrees to let him go, there must be a plan. It’s an opportunity as well. After returning from Aid Africa, Ning Gang will help Taiguo in his transfer, providing him more leverage.” Old Master Cheng quickly figured it out.

Cheng Su forced a smile.

If it weren’t like this, Qi Taiguo wouldn’t be so reckless?

”Don’t worry.” Old Master Cheng said, ”There haven’t been any war news, so it’s not a big deal. As long as there’s no war, everything will be fine. Even if there is a war, at most, it’s about assisting in evacuation, and likely with better benefits.”

Cheng Su raised her head: ”Really? Not to go and help fight a war?”

Old Master Cheng said, ”Aid means assistance, there are investments, medical, infrastructure, agricultural technology, etc. It’s not about fighting a war. Of course, in the event of war, sacrifices happen, but it’s not too scary, after all, it’s not a war between our country and another, the battlefield isn’t here.”

Is that how it is?

Cheng Su felt a bit confused.

”Indeed, better to worry about medical Aid Africa than about war. In Africa, there are many viruses, this...”

Cheng Yaozu didn’t finish his sentence before Ying Xiaoya yanked his arm, glaring at him. Can’t you say something more considerate? She’s already worried, and you talk about viruses, aren’t you making her more anxious?

Cheng Yaozu looked at Cheng Su, as expected, her face turned pale.

Today, Cheng Su only heard Qi Taiguo talk about Aid Africa and only associated it with war. She hadn’t thought of this aspect, recalling news from her past life about those terrifying viruses, wasn’t Africa the origin?

If it’s like Cheng Yaozu said, not going to war but going to aid in epidemic areas, what if he gets infected?

She completely misunderstood the direction!

”Um, I was just saying, probably not that severe, ha.” Cheng Yaozu saw Cheng Su looking like she was about to cry, awkwardly trying to ease the situation.
