Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1928: Chapter 1930: Qi the Little Sidekick

In the following days, Cheng Su and Zhan Qin were constantly out and about for their personal company, while her son Qi Xiaoqi stayed at the Cheng family home, playing with the old man.

But it wasn’t long before Qi Xiaoqi became unhappy and wanted to go out with Cheng Su.

”How can I get things done with you tagging along? Aren’t you having fun at the Cheng family home?” Cheng Su asked.

”It’s too boring. The old man keeps asking me to play chess with him, and he’s not even good at it. I have to pretend to be worse than him. Not just bad, I have to mess around,” Qi Xiaoqi said with frustration. ”Pretending to be a child is so difficult.”

Cheng Su burst out laughing and covered her mouth, saying, ”Poor you.”

”I want to go with you,” Qi Xiaoqi said. ”I promise I won’t cry or make trouble for you. Besides, I can watch and learn while you work. I might even have some advice for you.”

Cheng Su thought about it and nodded in agreement.

So Cheng Su started taking her son along with her and Zhan Qin.

Zhan Qin looked at the little kid, then at Cheng Su: ”What’s this about? Isn’t he supposed to be with the old man?”

Cheng Su glanced at Qi Xiaoqi and gave an embarrassed smile: ”He’s throwing a tantrum. He didn’t want to stay at the Cheng family home, insisted on coming out with me, so I had to bring him along.”

Zhan Qin clicked his tongue and said, ”You know, you really shouldn’t spoil the kid like this. Haven’t you heard the saying ’A doting mother often raises a troubled child’? This...” He stopped when he saw Qi Xiaoqi staring at him angrily and said, ”Oh, kid, you’re staring at me now.” He raised his hand, pretending to poke him in the eye.

Qi Xiaoqi gritted his little white teeth and said, ”You... you’re a bad guy!”

Cheng Su quickly covered his mouth, gave Zhan Qin an awkward smile, and shot an admonishing look at Qi Xiaoqi.

Zhan Qin was taken aback by being called a ”bad guy” and pointed at Qi Xiaoqi, but didn’t know what to say.

This little rascal, what kind of nonsense is he talking?

Qi Xiaoqi snorted, turned his head arrogantly, determined not to go back to pretending to be an innocent child at the Cheng family home. It was too exhausting; he wouldn’t do it.

”Forget it, forget it,” Zhan Qin said, realizing he couldn’t argue with a child barely over a year old. He also knew how well-behaved and clever Qi Xiaoqi was.

So, after Cheng Su and Zhan Qin, they had a little companion in Qi Xiaoqi, which puzzled many people. Who takes a child along when doing business?

Not to mention, bringing a kid is so inconvenient. He’s just over a year old, the age when kids love to cry and make a fuss. How could one person manage it all?

But somehow, this kid was as well-behaved as a little adult, didn’t cry or fuss, and would communicate when he needed something, saving the adults a lot of trouble.

Moreover, the child was adorably well-behaved. When Cheng Su and the others were handling affairs, he could charm people into smiling, especially at the municipal and business departments. With his sweet little voice calling everyone uncle, sister, and auntie, his cute little face made it impossible to refuse him. No one had the heart to delay Cheng Su and her team’s progress.

With Qi Xiaoqi around, not only did Cheng Su and her team have no trouble, but things even became more convenient.

Later, news reports on Cheng Su as a strong woman emphasized her as a woman who fought to create wealth while bringing along her son, a model of new-generation female empowerment and independence.

And Qi Xiaoqi earned the title of a little prodigy, able to manage finances and make money despite his young age. Growing up exposed to Cheng Su’s environment had a significant impact, leaving people in awe.
