Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1929: Chapter 1931: Parents Come Home

Being busy made her feel fulfilled, and it also kept her from overthinking. By the time the holiday was over, Cheng Su and Zhan Qin had already finished registering the company.

As for the company office, Cheng Su wanted to rent a floor in an office building, but since she didn’t have enough time, she could only leave it to Zhan Qin to handle. As for all the other matters, you can’t eat hot tofu in a hurry; they could only take care of things step by step.

So Cheng Su had to go back to Qing City, and if anything came up, Zhan Qin would have to run back and forth between the two places to deal with it.

”Look at this flow of people—down the line, Guangcheng’s economy and development are going to make a qualitative leap,” Cheng Su said to Qi Xiaoqi.

Qi Xiaoqi looked at the dense crowd of heads at the train station and clicked his tongue a few times. There really were a lot of people—those were all folks heading back to the city to work.

”Let’s go!” Cheng Su picked Qi Xiaoqi up and went into the station’s waiting hall.

In another half a year, they’d be coming back again.

Two days after she returned to Qing City, Mother Cheng arrived as well, and Father Cheng came along with her.

”...Anyway, Taiguo already said it: we’ll take turns with your in-laws to help you look after Xiao Qi. Cheng Zhi’s in Guangcheng, and your dad has nothing to do alone at home, sitting there by himself. I don’t feel easy about it, so I just brought your dad along with me. That way we can look after each other,” Mother Cheng said.

”What do you mean, nothing to do? I can still pick up some odd jobs!” Father Cheng objected. ”There are so many folks in the village, how am I sitting there by myself?”

”Can the folks in the village feed you and put you up? And what odd jobs, does the family really need that little bit of money from you right now? Cheng Zhi also said we should take it easy and save our energy,” Mother Cheng said.

Cheng Su smiled too. ”Yeah, Dad, the family doesn’t need money for anything right now. I’m married, and Cheng Zhi is grown and earning. You and Mom should be enjoying life now.”

Father Cheng gave a simple, honest smile. ”I’m not that old yet. If I stop working, this old bag of bones might be useless before you know it.”

”How is that useless? You can go travel all over the place. Right now you can help me look after Xiao Qi; when you’re not babysitting, you can wander the world with Mom,” Cheng Su said.

”Can’t be wasting money like that.” Mother Cheng scolded fondly. ”It’s nice enough for us all to be together like this.”

Father Cheng nodded as well, saying that it wasn’t easy for their children to earn money.

”By the way, what made Taiguo decide to have us and your in-laws take turns looking after Xiao Qi?” Mother Cheng was very curious.

Cheng Su exchanged a look with Xiao Qi and said, ”You know what my mother-in-law’s temper is like, right? Taiguo’s gone to Aid Africa, and he’s afraid my mother-in-law and I will clash, so he arranged for you to take turns with them. That way we’re not always quarreling.”

Mother Cheng glanced at Qi Xiaoqi and scolded lightly, ”What are you saying in front of the child!”

Qi Xiaoqi said, ”I don’t like Grandma either, I like Nana.”

Mother Cheng and Father Cheng both froze. Father Cheng frowned at Cheng Su. ”You girl, how can you teach the child like that?” Then he pulled Xiao Qi over and said, ”You can’t say that, Xiao Qi. She’s your grandma.”

Cheng Su felt sorry for her grandson and said, ”Xiao Qi’s heart is with us. What are you blaming him for? Xiao Qi, come to Nana.”

Qi Xiaoqi leaned over to her.

Mother Cheng hugged him like he was a piece of her own heart, planted a few kisses on him, then asked Cheng Su, ”So why did Taiguo have to go to Aid Africa? Isn’t that dangerous? And he’s gone for so long. Oh my, isn’t he already a big official now? Why do they still need him to go in person?”

Cheng Su couldn’t help laughing. ”Back in ancient times, even a Marshal General had to go on campaign. Since when can a big official just sit comfortably at home?”

Mother Cheng was stumped and couldn’t find anything to say.

Cheng Su folded the clothes in her hands, but her mind was elsewhere. So many days had passed, and she still didn’t know how Qi Taiguo was doing. In a foreign land, was he alright?
