Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1908: Chapter 1910: Outburst Before Leaving

The time passed incredibly fast. Cheng Su kept telling herself not to close her eyes. If she closed them, it would be daylight in an instant, and then the person next to her would be leaving.

But she couldn’t resist her body’s exhaustion and fell asleep just before dawn. She was awakened by someone tapping her awake.

When she opened her eyes, Qi Taiguo’s face was clearly reflected in her sight. She couldn’t help reaching out her hand, feeling the warmth, and said, ”You haven’t left yet!”

Qi Taiguo smiled and said, ”Get up? I made breakfast.”

Cheng Su sat up, rubbed her eyes, and asked, ”What time is it?”

”It’s eight thirty.”

Upon hearing this, Cheng Su quickly jumped out of bed and said, ”Why didn’t you wake me up earlier? My luggage isn’t packed yet.”

”It’s fine. I already packed it.” Qi Taiguo gave her a kiss on the cheek.

Cheng Su swiftly dressed and went to wash up. There wasn’t much time left.

When everything was ready, the family was waiting for her to have breakfast. Mother Qi couldn’t bear Qi Taiguo going abroad and was even more afraid that something might happen to him, so she was in a bad mood. Seeing Cheng Su getting up so late made her even more dissatisfied.

The husband is going abroad, and as his wife, she can still sleep so calmly without any worry. Isn’t that too much?

Mother Qi wanted to make a fuss, but she didn’t dare. With Qi Taiguo and that old man around, if she dared to say anything, they wouldn’t agree. She could only hold it in, giving Cheng Su a few dirty looks.

Cheng Su caught her mother-in-law’s looks and simply didn’t want to pay attention to them; she truly ignored them, sitting at the dining table and calmly starting to eat breakfast.

Mother Qi couldn’t hold back and started nagging Qi Taiguo, telling him to be careful, not to rush into things recklessly. In the end, she turned to Cheng Su and said, ”Aren’t you going to say some nice words?”

”I’ve said everything I needed to say.” Cheng Su replied indifferently.

Mother Qi was stifled and gave a slight snort.

Qi Taiguo said, ”Mom, I know everything. Please take good care of your health with Dad. Last year in the second half, you and Dad worked hard taking care of Xiao Qi. For this year’s first half, I asked my mother-in-law to help take care of Xiao Qi, and I’ve already asked her!”

At this moment, both Cheng Su and Mother Qi were stunned.

”What? Why should we let your mother-in-law take over when we’re doing just fine?” Mother Qi looked at her son with a face full of astonishment.

Qi Taiguo said, ”Taking turns is a good idea. This way, you can both rest for half a year.” He then looked at Cheng Su and said, ”You’re not upset with me for arranging this, are you? I already talked to Xiao Qi, and he seemed quite happy with it.”

Qi Xiaoqi nodded.

Cheng Su said, ”If Xiao Qi is willing, I have nothing else to say.”

”No, why your mother-in-law? Is it because your father and I didn’t do a good job, or did someone snitch?” Mother Qi, too worried to dwell on her son’s departure, asked with a grim face, even glaring at Cheng Su.

Qi Taiguo looked at Father Qi, then at Mother Qi, and said, ”Mom, no one told me anything. I just think it’s better to take turns, and this way, it’s not so much trouble for everyone. This is very fair.” ”You... fine, you’re such a good son.” Mother Qi, exasperated, slammed down her chopsticks and turned to go back to her room.

Qi Taiguo didn’t chase after her.

Father Qi said, ”Ignore your mother. Once she gets stubborn, she’s like a madwoman. Your arrangement is fine. I already discussed with her going back to the hometown after the New Year and letting your mother-in-law take over.”

Qi Taiguo nodded and said, ”Dad, when Mom gets stubborn, try to reason with her more often. Don’t let things turn out like Aunt’s situation. It ruined a perfectly good home.” He also said to his younger siblings, ”You too, stand by reason. Don’t be blinded by filial piety.”

Qi Jianguo and Qi Fengping nodded dumbly, exchanging glances. What happened? Why did the eldest suddenly flare up before leaving?
