I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 268: Chapter 267: Dinner

The old military leader said before falling into a coma: ”Go find the 119th Division’s medical team...” He hadn’t finished his sentence before falling into a coma and has not awakened to this day.

In the 119th Division’s medical team, he was the only one considered to be an experienced doctor and had received favors from the old military leader, so everyone hurriedly invited him over, even flew him directly, but upon seeing the old military leader’s condition, he was also helpless.

Faced with so many substantial colonels and senior colonels, Du Kai Bo, who was even a major general, was just a senior civilian old cadre enjoying the treatment of a major and couldn’t be ranked alongside them at all.

If not for the words said by the old military leader before falling into a coma, he might have been sent back long ago, not to mention having no qualification to come at all.

As for why the old military leader would say such words, those doctors and researchers couldn’t understand, and Sun Wangnian also didn’t understand!

”Has Doctor Tao been found?” Du Kai Bo asked.

”We’ve already found him; he is said to be collecting herbs in Yunnan and a special plane has been dispatched to fetch him!” Jiang and Huai replied.

Jiang and Huai was a lieutenant colonel, serving as the deputy director of the Air Force Hospital, concurrently holding the position of director in the Virus Prevention Department; in his fifties, with greying hair, small eyes, a big mouth, when he smiles, his eyes disappear and his mouth stretches to the roots of his ears.

”It’s good that he has been found, perhaps Doctor Tao will have a solution once he arrives!” Du Kai Bo said.

”Doctor Tao needs some time to get here; he said he had sent a disciple over first to examine the old military leader and try to stabilize the toxins and illness within him before Tao Hailin gets back.” Ma Yuan said.

The term disciple, it was only popular among that group of people.

Ma Yuan was the director of Shanghai Bo Ren Hospital, although not a military hospital, she was also an outstanding doctor among them, the only female doctor in this group, in her forties, probably the youngest among these doctors, her features somewhat plain; this impression was likely due to her inherently small eyes, sparse eyebrows, and pale lips.

”That’s great, since Doctor Tao sent a disciple, we can at least breathe a little.” Jiang and Huai said with a bitter smile.

The current strategy relies on that group of people, but they are elusive like dragons; Doctor Tao Hailin, often disappearing into deep mountains and forests where he’s untraceable for a month, it truly took the deployment of two companies to find him this time.

Fortunately, he was found; their strange and mysterious treatment methods were astonishing but highly effective, something that didn’t require much skepticism.

”Did they say when the disciple would arrive?” Du Kai Bo asked.

Ma Yuan shook her head, ”You should know how those people are, each one so unique, it’s good enough if they notify you that they’re about to arrive soon, how can they specify an exact time?”

Everyone thought the same, when it came to that group of people, there were really no good feelings; their individuality was not the issue, but their arrogance; relying on their own skills, they completely disregarded Western medicine, claiming that foreign cultures couldn’t compare with the essence of the Central Plains.

In this age, maintaining such conservative views was unfortunate, yet there was no choice; despite many people saying they were detached from reality, they indeed had the skills.

The antiviral research team was operating round the clock, but the nature of viruses is such that research isn’t accomplished in a day; similarly, developing antiviral agents isn’t a short-term task either.

Even if they were developed, repeated clinical trials are required before they can be used on humans, a process that would take quite a long time.

Therefore, they placed their hopes on Tao Hailin, hoping he would have a way to save the old military leader.

Luo Xudong and his group of three left Shichahai and returned to the car, all looking a little silent; Luo Xudong was inherently taciturn, Beisitian wasn’t in the mood to speak, and Luo Xuhua didn’t know what to say looking at their expressions!

The three had a simple lunch and wandered around the area all afternoon, still unable to find a way in.

”It’s getting late, how about you come to my place for dinner? Your sister-in-law was just thinking about you yesterday; she just called and the food is ready, waiting for you to come. I’ll drive you back to the guesthouse tonight.” Luo Xuhua said with a smile.

Having refused Luo Xuhua yesterday, they could no longer refuse today, especially since they weren’t staying at his place, it wouldn’t cause much trouble, so the two agreed.

Luo Xuhua bought a house near the Third Ring, a straight six-story building, two rooms and a living room, around ninety square meters, quite spacious for a family of three.

Now the construction of the Third Ring Road is underway; it’ll be convenient when it opens in a few years.

Beisitian looked at the building in front; although lacking any decoration, differing from pavilions and mansions, it was suitable for living purposes.

However, the layout inside was somewhat unsatisfactory.

Upon entering, there’s a narrow foyer, capable of holding a shoe cabinet and shoe rack, a room on both the north and south, divided as master and secondary bedrooms, the master being larger and the secondary smaller, both connected through a narrow pathway and the foyer.

The restroom and kitchen are on either side of the small path, designed to be slightly staggered.

Beisitian didn’t like this design at all; it felt a bit constraining, but heard most buildings in Beijing are designed like this.

Luo Xuhua’s home was on the third floor; here, the saying is ”gold on the third, silver on the fourth,” as most buildings are six stories, these two floors are most suitable, making them the most sought-after, and naturally, the prices are relatively high too.

Luo Xuhua’s wife was a very stylish person, wearing an apron while opening the door couldn’t conceal the unique urban demeanor.

His wife was quite attractive and knew how to dress up; her hair was in large waves, wearing jeans and a checkered shirt; upon opening the door, she greeted them with a smile.

”No need to change into slippers, you can just come in.” Shao Simin said as she returned to the kitchen.

Luo Xuhua smiled and led them into the bedroom, as there was no living room, the bedroom served as it.

”I’ll go make you some tea, sit for a while.” Luo Xuhua said, wearing slippers heading to the kitchen.

In the bedroom, there’s a large double bed, a wedding photo of Luo Xuhua and Shao Simin hung on the wall above the bed; Luo Xuhua, sharply dressed in a suit, gently holding Shao Simin in a pure white wedding dress, the dress’s long train elegantly flowing down the steps in front of them, stretching their figures long, indeed beautiful.

Aside from that, there was also a set of sofas, and a large, curved-screen colored television.

A colored TV was quite a luxury, even in Beijing, households didn’t typically own one, places like Kao Village considered a black-and-white TV quite nice.

”From now on, my brother’s home is yours, come whenever you want!” Luo Xuhua came in with a tray, smiling as he spoke.

Behind him, Shao Simin lowered her eyes at the words, concealing her displeasure.
