Chapter 266: Chapter 265: Finding the Place (1,000 Monthly Tickets+)

Luo Xuhua coming to pick them up was a coincidence, last night he happened to call, saying the project couldn’t be finished immediately and that they should visit the Capital City when they had time. During their conversation, he learned that Luo Xudong and Beisitian were coming to Beijing.

The reason was naturally not easy to explain. Beisitian just said it was an acquaintance, an old gentleman who was ill, and she wanted to come over to see him. She’s not familiar with the Capital City, so she brought Luo Xudong along.

This reason seemed reasonable enough, Luo Xuhua wouldn’t overthink it.

”It’s too late today, it’s already past eight o’clock. Going anywhere now is inconvenient, wait until tomorrow and I’ll take you guys over,” Luo Xuhua said.

Just like what Luo Xuhua said, even if Beisitian couldn’t hold back, she could only force herself to hold back.

”Let’s go to my place, I’ve already prepared the room for you,” Luo Xuhua smiled and led them to walk outside the West Station.

After all, it’s the Capital City. Once they exited the West Station, they saw the wide road, with cars one after another. In the general sense, there were still fewer cars, and occasionally a car parked outside the West Station wouldn’t congest the traffic.

”No, we’ve booked a military hostel,” Luo Xudong said.

Luo Xuhua’s face darkened, ”What do you mean?”

Seeing this, Luo Xudong patted his shoulder, ”We booked it in advance before you called.”

Luo Xuhua frowned, looking at Luo Xudong’s face, but Luo Xudong met his gaze calmly.

Beisitian said from the side, ”Brother, we’re here for business, next time we visit for leisure, we’ll find you.”

Luo Xuhua glanced at her, exhaled, nodded, and then turned to say to Luo Xudong, ”I’ll let you off this time.”

A smile appeared on Luo Xudong’s face as the three of them walked out of the West Station together.

Parked outside was a Santana, square and angular, looking like a big iron box with four wheels stuck on it. It was said that such a car cost a lot of money to purchase.

After finding out which military hostel it was, Luo Xuhua drove them over. When they arrived and the two got off, he said, ”Tomorrow, I’ll first take you to find the place, and then in the evening, come to my place for dinner. Your sister-in-law has been waiting for you guys, and she’ll prepare a big table full of good dishes for tomorrow night, so Xudong and I can have a good drink!”

Luo Xudong said, ”We’ll have a proper drink after handling business.”

Luo Xuhua patted his shoulder, ”Alright, Brother is waiting for you!”

Watching them walk in side by side, a smile flickered in Luo Xuhua’s eyes. This kid indeed has skills; he managed to win over Beisitian in the end.

Through the glass door, they saw Luo Xuhua drive away. Beisitian looked at Luo Xudong as they hadn’t actually booked the hostel in advance.

Luo Xudong was unwilling to go to Luo Xuhua’s place, and it certainly wasn’t because of Luo Xuhua himself.

Beisitian did not ask further, there was no spare time to think about anything else; she just wanted to quickly find the place and see how the old gentleman was doing!

”You remember you’ve stayed in the Capital City before, right?” Beisitian asked.

Luo Xudong nodded, ”Stayed for quite a long period.”

For the past two years, New Year’s have been spent here, so he was quite familiar. Even without Luo Xuhua’s guidance, they should be able to find it.

”How can we find the place as soon as possible?” Beisitian asked.

Being prepared in advance also avoids wasting time.

”Take a taxi,” Luo Xudong glanced at her.

To find a place in the Capital City, taking a taxi is undoubtedly the fastest way; the taxi drivers here are very familiar with the roads, and they’re not going to a remote area, so it should be relatively easy to find.

After discussing the matter, the two went to sleep early. Beisitian, mentally strained all day, fell asleep as soon as she lay down.

Luo Xudong gently embraced her from behind, resting his cheek on her soft hair, gradually closing his eyes. It seemed like he couldn’t fall asleep without holding Beisitian.

The two of them slept in each other’s arms.

As dawn broke, Luo Xudong opened his eyes. He had his biological clock, especially when there was something to do, he would wake up at about the right time automatically.

He gently got out of bed, taking care not to wake Beisitian, and after washing up, he saw Beisitian sitting there, rubbing her eyes groggily.

Seeing Luo Xudong finished washing up, Beisitian quickly got out of bed to wash up.

”Let’s have breakfast first, and then we’ll go find the place,” Luo Xudong was worried she might not feel like eating.

He had long noticed that Beisitian had an unusual affection for her mentor. While he did not fully understand the source of this emotion, her feelings were undoubtedly sincere. Otherwise, she wouldn’t be so flustered when the mentor fell unconscious this time.

It was the first time he saw her in such a state.

Beisitian was more rational than he had imagined; she was no longer as panicked as she had initially been. Upon hearing his words, she nodded. After all, how could she have the energy without eating? She needed to maintain her spirit to treat the old gentleman!

The two sat down in a street-side stand, Beisitian had a bowl of wonton, a fried dough stick, and even ordered a tea egg.

The breakfast here was more varied than those in Anding City.

Seeing her eat well, Luo Xudong felt relieved and gently held her hand, ”The commander will be alright.”

Beisitian looked at him, his originally stern face had softened a lot, clearly worried about her. She slightly smiled at his words, ”I know, as long as I can see the old gentleman, I won’t let anything happen to him!”

Even though she didn’t have as much spirit as in her past life, she would do everything possible to save the old gentleman!

Instead, it was Luo Xudong who should have been quite worried himself, but now he was the one comforting her all along.

Just after they finished breakfast, they saw Luo Xuhua driving a Santana over.

”You’re up really early, get in and let’s go,” Luo Xuhua acted swiftly, seeing they’d finished eating, he motioned for them to get in the car.

Seeing this, Luo Xudong pulled Beisitian into the car since with Luo Xuhua driving, they could save on taxi fares.

However, relatively, finding the way might require some asking as they go along, as everything has its pros and cons.

”Show me your address,” Luo Xuhua said.

Luo Xudong handed the address he had inquired about to Luo Xuhua.

Luo Xuhua raised an eyebrow upon seeing the address, ”Shichahai Tianren Street, this place is nice, it’s close to Beihai Park, and the Forbidden City is not far either.”

This location is within the Second Ring Road, not a remote place, so it should be easy to find.

Knowing the place made things easier. Luo Xuhua could see that the two were worried, and whatever this business they came for was, it wasn’t necessarily a happy occasion, so he didn’t waste time. Stepping on the clutch and shifting gear, he drove off.

Luo Xuhua seemed quite familiar with Beijing too, taking roughly half an hour to reach the place, though there were many alleys here, with all the courtyards carrying a strong sense of antiquity, finding the exact location took some asking around.

The main issue was that some places couldn’t be accessed by car, so they had to park temporarily on the road and walk in.

After parking, Luo Xuhua accompanied them to find the place.
