I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 265: Chapter 264: Going to the Capital City to Find the Old Master

Shen Junping was startled by the noise and quickly snapped back to reality, but he didn’t see anyone, only the shattered cup on the ground, leaving him dumbfounded. Who was there just now?

”It was, it was Doctor Xiao Bei!” Qi Xiu Hui said.

Yu Shufang and Luo Jiali also saw it. Beisitian looked shocked at first, then showed a panicked expression before turning to leave.

Luo Jiali was in a daze. Although she hadn’t known Beisitian for long, she always gave off a calm and composed aura. Such panic was unprecedented!

Everyone was somewhat bewildered. Could it be something Shen Junping said that made Beisitian panic and leave?

That’s unlikely. Beisitian couldn’t possibly know Military Advisor Wu!

Beisitian’s heart was in turmoil. The old man was unconscious?

Beisitian knew about Sun Wangnian’s consultation trip to the Capital City and that it was for someone significant, but she never expected it to be Wu Yuekai!

In her past life, her master passed away from natural causes, reaching the end of life. She still felt a void in her heart, no longer grounded, wandering the world like a drifting soul.

In this life, she didn’t want to see Wu Yuekai leave just like that, no matter what.

Standing outside the medical team, Beisitian felt a moment of confusion, then stepped towards the training ground.

The training field was made of dirt, quite even, and had been compacted by the soldiers’ daily training.

When Beisitian arrived at the training area, most soldiers were training in squads. She glanced around for a long time but didn’t spot Luo Xudong, then suddenly remembered that he wasn’t always at one training field.

The military advisor and deputy military advisor also had offices, but Luo Xudong didn’t want to relax too much, rarely staying in the office, mostly on the training grounds. But exactly which training ground, she didn’t know.

Beisitian searched two training grounds but still couldn’t find Luo Xudong. She was so anxious that she was about to cry. At this moment, Beisitian’s face showed some helplessness.

Even though Beisitian had walked through various places of the garrison, it was just once, and amidst the confusion, she unconsciously lost her way.

Sweat beads formed on Beisitian’s forehead as she finally saw a military jeep on the path. The people inside looked very familiar, and she quickly stopped it.

The military jeep hardly expected someone to suddenly dash out, causing the driver to slam on the brakes in shock. Since it was the garrison’s road, the car wasn’t slow. The sudden brake caused the four-wheel-drive military jeep to wobble, and if it were any faster, it might have flipped over!

”Tired of living!” The driver stood up and roared.

The driver, a young soldier in camouflage, now looked terrified, glaring at Beisitian with eyes almost shooting fire!

This was simply too dangerous. Had they hit someone, it wouldn’t have been alright, especially since Liu Yiming, the Liu Jun Commander, was in the car!

The guard beside Liu Yiming had already stood up, resting an arm on the front seat backrest, faintly shielding Liu Yiming. Although it was relatively safe in the garrison, some risks couldn’t be ruled out.

As the driver was about to shout again, Liu Yiming recognized the person stopping the car and hurriedly told the driver to stop and got out.

”Doctor Bei!” Liu Yiming did not address her as sister-in-law because of Luo Xudong, but as Doctor Bei, showing respect due to her capabilities.

”Liu Jun Commander, help me find Xudong!” Beisitian felt slightly relieved seeing Liu Yiming.

Liu Yiming paused, seeing panic on Beisitian’s face, guessing something had happened. He didn’t expect her first request to be finding Luo Xudong.

”Alright, get in the car with me. I’ll call to see where he is.” Liu Yiming beckoned.

Beisitian nodded and got into the car.

In the car, Beisitian gently clasped her hands together, head bowed, silent. Liu Yiming asked, ”Doctor Bei, if you have any difficulties, feel free to tell me.”

Beisitian had calmed considerably by now, and with a wry smile, she said, ”Just help me find Xudong. I was too anxious just now, and I scared you. I’m truly sorry!”

The driver up front rubbed his crew cut awkwardly, clearly startled earlier, not expecting it to be someone known to the Liu Jun Commander.

But indeed, it was too dangerous, although he couldn’t say much in front of the Liu Jun Commander.

Liu Yiming called a military sergeant’s office and, after two calls, found Luo Xudong’s location. It turned out he was at the shooting range.

Finding him made things easier, as Liu Yiming drove over with her.

Upon reaching the shooting range’s perimeter, gunfire could be heard, and soon Luo Xudong came walking briskly from outside.

Seeing Beisitian, Luo Xudong paused, realizing it was urgent. Beisitian wouldn’t come during work hours, especially when he was training.

”Xudong, the old man is in trouble!” Beisitian said.

Luo Xudong’s eyes focused sharply. Why hadn’t he heard a hint about this!

”Let’s go back.” Finishing, Luo Xudong looked at Liu Yiming, ”Give us a ride!”

Liu Yiming laughed in exasperation; this kid wasn’t shy. But now wasn’t the time for jokes. Just seeing Luo Xudong’s face revealed the gravity of the situation,

But the old man? Wasn’t it said that Luo Xudong only had a grandmother left?

Liu Yiming drove them back. Upon returning, Beisitian began packing, ”Director Sun left two weeks ago, apparently for the old man’s consultation. I must go to the Capital City. You must help me find out where the old man is staying!”

Luo Xudong nodded, ”I’ll go with you.”

Beisitian straightened up at his words, turning around, ”This matter is certainly being covered up above. I alone won’t draw attention, but if you go, it’ll surely attract attention.”

This was also why they didn’t discuss it in front of Liu Yiming.

Luo Xudong slightly frowned. He was uneasy about Beisitian going alone, but he also knew she was right.

After a brief silence, he said, ”I’ll take leave for family reasons, say there’s something at home, and we’ll sneak to the Capital City.”

Seeing his firm stance, Beisitian nodded. Having Luo Xudong around indeed made things more convenient.

Once everything was settled, Luo Xudong went to apply for leave, while Beisitian packed at home, then went to the medical team to take leave, only able to excuse herself by saying there was something at home necessitating her return.

Beisitian’s leave was granted easily, but Luo Xudong needed approval. Fortunately, though there were some procedures, it was quickly approved.

Early the next day, the two boarded the long-distance bus bound for the Capital City.

After a day’s bumping ride, they got off at the West Station square, where Luo Xuhua was waiting.
